  1. yey Ann! I'm so excited for you! you're going to have such an amazing time in the UK! I'm glad to hear that everything worked out well, and that Gwen is settling in alright. I can't wait to see pics!
  2. I just had our wedding at Dreams in April and wse didn't have to pay any vendor fee, or get them a vendor pass. All the vendors actually even came on site at the hotel for the pre-wedding meetings a few days before and again they didn't have to pay. Also, one of my friends is getting married there next spring (2010) and when we were in Cabo in April we specifically asked them whether or not next year anything like that would be changed since they were also implementing the "preferred vendor list" and Mariana told us NO.
  3. Congratulations!! your wedding looked gorgeous! I love the diff colored lanterns, so cute!

I'm still finalizing details for the reception and almost 100% sure we're going to opt for the Oceana Terrace. We have a group of about 25 attending. I really like your reception layout! Were the lanterns hanging above the reception site included or an additional charge? If additional charge, do you mind my asking the cost and if you rented them direct through Dreams? Also, we plan to rent the iPod dock & speakers but were curious if you rented a dance floor? I really would prefer not to spend the money but also want to make sure folks are comfy dancing in the space provided. Was this an issue for your party? Again...thank you SO much! :-) Thank you to answer your questions: yes the lanterns were extra but I can't remember the exact cost. I asked the WC (Yesica) for them and she had it set up. If you were interested in having them I would email her and ask for the cost. We didn't rent any specific dancing space, the area in the middle of the tables is where we did our dancing (under the lanterns) and it was fine. If you have the reception at Oceana or even Cascade that's not an issue. I could see that you might need it it you were having the reception on the beach maybe. They had told me it was only symbolic and that I would still have to be married through the court but our deacon here in the states is telling us that we have to purchase a marriage license in Mexico and the priest would then marry us. So my question is did you get a marriage license in Mexico or where your from? Please help Marcela Ok, so when you get married in the US or Canada, the priests are allowed to legally marry you. In Mexico there are 2 different ceremonies..legal and religious. The legal ceremony requires you to be there 3 days prior to your day, get blood taken and then have an officiant perform the ceremony. You then have to go to the Church and have your religious ceremony. The Church ceremony is legal in the eyes of the Church only. So if you are Catholic your marriage is recognized by the Church but not the state...does that make sense. If you want to have the legal and Church ceremony in Mexico you have to have both of the above. What we did...because we didn't want to deal with the legalities of Mexico, and didn't want to have our blood taken there...was that we went to City Hall 2 days before our wedding, here in Toronto, and had our civil ceremony. That way our marriage license and everything was already validated and legally we were husband and wife. Then we went to Cabo and had our Church wedding there. If you are thinking to have your wedding at the Church though, make sure that you speak to the Priest there to make sure he has the date available, and then you need to go to your parish priest and let him know that you intend to have the Church ceremony in another country and diocee. We still had to do our Pre-marriage Prep Course at the Church and all of that stuff. Our home church and priest had to sign off on the paperwork and then send it to the Cabo Parish.
  9. ok so I"m super lame but I totally ordered myself the Vancouver 2010 hoodie she was wearing in on eof the episodes :S I'm such a dork!
  10. Heather just do it!! 12 is like nothing really, except sweet deliciousness lol usually I turn the whole month of Feb into my birthday month. It started with a "birthday weekend" then a few years later expanded to a "brithday week" and now its the "birthday month". I think you deserve at least a week of birthday celebrations I mean a day goes by way too fast!
  11. lol you're welcome!! you should secretly be at home sleeping! working on your bday (or even day after) is NOT OK! and its more or less a bribe so you won't think I'm a total douche for missing your bday bbq! Danielle...I made a note of that
  12. wow that's so rude!! she sounds totally jealous and mean!
  13. I just remembered, so I had this amazing trio at our ceremony...they sang and played piano (keyboard) harp and something else. They were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing though!! even for the ceremony music. The lead lady had an incredible voice. I got them through the Church, but I am pretty sure they'd be able to come to the hotel and sing too. I finally watched our wedding DVD and I was blown away by the music. So maybe that would be an option too for you girls. I think they were $350USD for a couple of hours.
  14. wow everything looks so great!! I love the pic with the GMs and the donkey! so cute
  15. that's awesome! congrats let us know when the issue comes out so we can see the feature
  16. Heather we did the same thing, just make sure you write down what you're giving to whom. I totally forgot! when I got to Dreams I spent about 3 hours just trying to find people and ask them whether I'd given them anything to hold :S
  17. I don't know of actual Canadian stores that do these invites, but Sarah from this forum does them and an amazing job. You should contact her for pricing. Check the "vendor" threads
