Marina Maroma Paradise?

I'm wondering if there would be lots of people watching our wedding ceremony?? I'm looking for something that is private. Thanks! -
I was wondering if anyone had been to or knows anything about the marina maroma paradise? I just found out this week from my WC that it's available to me for my wedding because we are having a fairly large group. The pictures that my WC sent look AMAZING! But, just curious if anyone on here has any information....Thanks!

Help me decide Roses or Calla Lilly Bouquet!
Rhonda replied to cutierosie's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I just had this discussion with my florist last week...he suggested using a color bouquet instead of all white, because in pictures, the contrast looks much better. I think a bit of both would look very nice. -
Invitations & Bridesmaid Dresses
Rhonda replied to Rhonda's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thank you for your encouragement. I think you're right...no one else but me would probably care. It's so funny....before planning a wedding, I never would have even thought about this at someone else's wedding...but, all of a sudden it feels like a big deal or that I would be breaking some rule or something. -

Also, our TA just told us last week that the prices are going up for resorts in RM. Did anyone else hear about this? Apparently, She still has rooms available at our originally quoted rate, but she thinks the rates will go up by end of year. We're sending out an email tonight to everyone to encourage them to at least put their deposit down for the room as soon as possible to guarantee the lower rate. Hopefully that'll get them booking.... We already have 40 people booked! Yay!

My invitations were sent out last week (yay!) Next thing on the list is bridesmaids dresses.... I am wondering if my invitation color and bridesmaid dresses HAVE TO match? The primary color in my invitations is aqua with a soft coral flower. At first I wanted to do aqua bridesmaid dresses, but, now I'm leaning toward a soft coral color. The flowers will likely be some shade of pink/coral. Would it be ok not to use aqua at the ceremony (Ok, besides the beautiful aqua carribbean sea ) ? I don't want it to seem random or out of place...

EDR Review (link to non pro pics)
Rhonda replied to BandE2008's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Thanks so much for your review! I'm so happy to hear things went great for you! Everything looked/sounded beautiful! You answered many of my concerns. I have some questions... Did you ship any items for your wedding to the resort in advance? We are considering an optional excursion...would you recommend the ones that you did? Also, what was the cost and did you cover it for your guests? I'm sure I'll have more questions later... Thanks! -
BandE2008, OMG! Everything looked beautiful!! I love you're hair...did you get it done by the resort hairstylist? I haven't really known what to think lately since not too many brides on here are getting married at EDR anymore, but, seeing your pics..makes me so happy and excited for my own day! Congrats! I can't wait to read your review!

If it makes you feel any better...I kinda did the same thing....I must have looked at my invitation proofs 8 billion times..then, days before they were to be printed, I switched the font and then there all these other corrections and it was such a rush...anyway, I got them in the mail last week..and the version my designer printed completely left out a line! It was supposed to say "Son of 'fiances' mother's name" right after his name, but, it did not. I was so upset at first, even though, I knew no one else would no the difference. We decided to use the invites anyway, but, to send out the other version to only my fiances close family. The designer agreed to redo them on Monday and already sent out the new version...no charge. I don't think you should be responsible for it...I think if she wants to do good business and keep you a happy customer...she should redo without charge.

Yes, we sent the welcome party invite with the wedding invite. We did a pocketfold invitation...so one of the inserts was the welcome party invite. It says something like "Rhonda & Mark would like to welcome you to their wedding weekend. Please join us on April 30, 2009 for drinks, dessert, and celebration" Time & location were also noted on the invite.

Tied in a bow, glue dots on the back, etc.... Thanks again!!! Sure, no problem! I can email you a pic of them when I get them this weekend if you'd like. And, I'll let you know how it's all attached. BTW, we're getting married almost the same day!

My invitations are pocketfold and there is a raffia ribbon on the outside. I have 3 pocket inserts- travel/accomodation information, welcome party invite, and response card/envelope. I have not yet seen my invites yet (getting them tomorrow!) but I believe the raffia ribbon with monogram tag is attached and then you can just slide it off, so that it doesn't ruin the invitation. Hope that helps!

I'm using the one approved by the resort. I was also concerned about this, but, then, my WC put me in contact with someone who used the DJ and she had all good things to say! I don't know if there is really another option, but, it might be good to find out or at least hear from others.

That's awesome to hear! I will definitely check it out! Thanks a lot!

dont hate me but what is a healthy way to gain weight???
Rhonda replied to Michelle's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Hi Michelle, I'm actually a Registered Dietitian, so I might be able to help you. I would definitely recommend increase the amount of healthy fats that you consume...like nuts, nut butters, seeds, avocados, olive oil, even, mayonnaise and salad dressings. These foods are calorie dense- meaning for only a small bite, you get a lot of calories. Try adding any of these to every meal..like maybe peanut butter on your toast, avocado, seeds, olive oil in a salad, cook with lots of olive oil etc. The other thing you might want to try is a nutritional supplement like Ensure or Boost. Or, you can make your own smoothie at home. Also, of course, larger portions and frequent snacks can help too. If you exercise at all, you'd probably need even more! I hope that helps. -
Hi Ladies, I'm just starting to plan my honeymoon now...we're thinking of Belize right after our wedding in Riviera Maya, MX. Anyone been there? I feel kinda clueless right now, so any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!

Are immuni+ and probiotics actually good for you???
Rhonda replied to Michelle's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Probiotics are "friendly" bacteria that are needed for a healthy digestive and immune system. Many things like poor diet, stress, medications, alcohol, tobacco, and aging can cause an imbalanced digestive system and lead to sickness and disease. It is important to maintain a healthy balance of good bacteria. By taking foods with probiotics each day you can do this, but, keep in mind that not all foods that claim to be probiotics actually are. For instance, many yogurts contain "live and active cultures" but that does not necessarily make them probiotics. THere is no legal definition of probiotics right now, but, generally they are live microorganisms that show a health benefit when given is adequate amounts. Before choosing a probiotic, find out what the exact strain is in the product (e.g. Lactobacillius Casei Shirota). ALso, find out the # of good bacteria found in the product (should have 5-10 billion), if it's less, it possibly may not be effective. Also, it's good to find out if there's been any human studies that show any effectiveness. Sorry, if I'm rambling...I happen to know a fair amount about this topic. And, there's still a lot that is unknown. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. -
I just ordered mine from Handmade by Allison They sent me cardstock samples in a variety of colors that I was thinking of + a sample pocketfold (my preference). She's really easy to work with, you can basically tell her exactly what you want and she'll do it. I approved everything by email after she sent the proofs. Honestly, i love the way it looks! I can let you know next week after I get them in the mail if you're interested.
