  1. Hi there, Congradulations!! I got married at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum at 4pm in the afternoon. I would also recommend doing a bit later than 2, this way it's not so hot and after the ceremony you have time for pictures and then go straight to dinner.
  2. The rooms are close to the beach, it just depends what section of the beach you want to go to. Most of our guests stayed in the Tulum section but not the club diamond so we went to the beach closest to the 24 hour snack bar or main pool most times. Sorry I don't have a map. It's a big resort but really you can walk to everything. We walked all the time to the main lobby, restaurants etc... The only times we took the trolleys was to go to the hacienda.
  3. The club diamond section is just behind the Tequila restaurant and the wedding gazebo. It's the section of building just behind those two. But if you pick the Tortuga restaurant, that is way at the other end of that section. But you will have the trolleys to bring you to it.
  4. We often went to the 24 hour snack bar, it's outside by the beach, has plenty of drinks and snacks, it wasn't bad at all. But the hacienda was lots of fun as well which is open later than 11. We stayed on the Tulum side and had a junior suite in the club diamond section and we thought it was worth the money. It's close to the main lobby and main buffet area. We got ready in our room before the wedding and it was nice to have the extra space. It's much bigger than the regular rooms and had a nice little bench and table with chairs.
  5. For our name cards, we did luggage tags, we printed regular paper with the design of our invitation as the background and then printed each person's name and inserted them in the luggage tags. We were given a choice of tables with 6, 8 or 10 people
  6. Hi there, We just returned from Mexico, and got married on April 4th. We stayed at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum from March 30-April 4 and the El Dorado Royal from April 6-13. If you have any questions please do not hesitate. All I can say is that is was absolutely fantastic. The hotel was aweomse, our wedding coordinator Jazmin was superb and so was our photograpger D!no. I would not change a thing. I hope I can help as much as you all did for me.
  7. Thank you! Was it Jazmin that changed the time of your ceremony 3times? Did she say why? We also want to have a welcome reception for a meet and greet for everyone prior to the wedding. Does anyone know of a good area on the resort? Would the lobby bar be ok? We also want to bring our gift bags for that event, so will need tables and such.
  8. Hi there, Quick question on required documents for a legal ceremony: Jazmin told me I only need our passport, tourist card, witnesses and blood work. Is that correct? I will bring my long form birth certificate which was authenticatd by the CDN government and am getting it legalized by the consulate of Mexico, should I translate it into spanish? Do I need anything else? Also about the time of the wedding, Jazmin said it was booked for the time I requested but that was only going to be confirmed after the judge has all of our paperwork. Should I be worried about this time changing?
  9. Hi Stacy me again, you must think I'm crazy I just read your other posts and review, so thanks! Sorry still new at this.
  10. So Stacy, congrats on your recent wedding! How was it, did you enjoy it? Was Jazmin your coordinator? Did you get married on the gazebo or the beach? Which restaurant did you choose? Any tips? Sorry for all the questions, it's just so great to finally see someone who got married at the same resort and a Canadian too!
  11. Thanks for the tips on the villas! Much appreciated. Everyone is so nice here, it's great, it's like a big extended family! I read that the provided shuttle takesmuch longer because the GBPT is the last resort. I have some people with connecting flights, so I thought if I provided direct transportation it might be better for them

Wow thanks everyone, I already love this site!
  13. Hi everyone! I sure wish I had found this site before my planning. Oh well I am getting married on April 4th, 2008 at the GBPT. Allot is all planned out with Jazmin. Anyone know of any company that has direct transportation from the airport directly to the resort, instead of stopping at all of the resorts before ours? Also, anyone know which are the best rooms to stay in with ocean view and close to everything? I am going to request that everyone stays close by if possible. I read Villa, 12, 14, 15 and 17.
