I am a October 21, 2009 bride! We will be getting married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Ceremony at Marai Reina de la Paz-Booked Reception and stay at Riu Vallarta-Booked Photographer-Booked Transportation to and from Church-Booked Save the Dates-Sent Wedding Website-Done My Dress-Bought Veil-Bought Tuxedos-Chosen Invitations-In process Travel Arrangements-In process I still need flowers, cake, bridemaids dresses, flower girl dress, my shoes. What else am I missing? Where is everyone at in the planning process?

The most difficult part about planning a destination wedding to meis getting all the travel arrangements together. Other than that the resort will handle most of the arrangements. Im getting married at the Riu Vallarta and having a private reception with about 60 guests. Let me know if you want additional information.

I reserved our location when we went to our site visit. I would email the wedding coordinator again but they do take awhile to answer. Did anyone use the RenoSpa to do their hair? Howabout for the bridesmaids? What are your thoughts on them?

I am getting married at the Riu Vallarta but we are renting out the ballroom area. We will have it from 6 or 7 until 1 or 2. My family loves to party. We will be having the mexican buffet for dinner followed by hours of dancing. Our ceremony will take place in church at 3.

I actually have the script written down but its at home. I will post it for you tonight when I get home.

We are traveling Sun to Sun and the wedding is on Wed. It gives us time to finalize things before and time to relax after the wedding.

I loved your invitations they are so nice. The postcard idea is so cool. I went through the same thing that you did about paying 20cents more because of not fitting through the machine. I went to another post office and they said it was fine. So I didnt end up paying extra.

Hey FI and I have gone to PV in October the past 2 years and the weather is real nice. NO rain at all. Im getting married on Oct 21 2009 3 days before you. Hey we will be in PV during the same time. You shouldnt worry about the weather. Its hot but not too humid and no rain for us when we have been there. We should be good.

This is very hard. We wanted a small wedding too with just the immediate family and close friends but that is not happening. We sent Save the Dates to our whole family and from the responses everyone is planning on going. We are very thankful that everyone has decided to go because its a blessing that they would like to join us for our wedding. I would say to do what makes you happy. Its your wedding...if you want a small wedding have a small wedding. Let people know that you are getting married in Mexico, having a small celebration with your immediate family and when you guys get back that you will celebrate with the rest of the family. I have no regrets at all about the majority of the people we invited going because its family. I know thats its more money for us to spend but Im happy that they want to join us.

We are getting marrried at the Riu Vallarta and like Celina said the Riu Vallarta doesnt seem touristy to me at all. We have been there twice n this year will be our third. We love it. The service, entertainment and food is great. The Riu Vallarta does in fact seem like its out on its own. Good Luck and lets us know if you have any other questions on the Riu

I am not using a wedding coordinator. I am planning everything myself. It helped alot to go to a site visit because it gave me the opprtunity that book the major things.
