Initially, I was going to do a legal ceremony, but due to date availability, I could only get a Sunday date (only symbolic ceremonies). We decided to go for it since it was only 1 day later than our desired date and we really wanted DC. Turns out, I think it will be a blessing in disguise since we don't have to be there 4 days earlier and can spend more time after the ceremony in Cancun.

For those that used the IPOD, I read on one of the posts that the battery died quickly. Is it possible to bring a charger and plug it in to the electrical outlet that the sound equipment is using? Would we need to bring a power strip (for addl outlets). Thanks!

I haven't contacted the resort yet. I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestion! It will be such a relief to have the date and hotel decided!! The amount of hotels is so overwhelming. Glad the hard part is almost over! This forum has been SO helpful! I'm really glad I found it.

After nearly 1 - 1.5 hours on the phone with the travel agent EVERY day for the past week and a half (during work hours of course), and about 4 - 5 hours of websurfing each nite, I think we've decided on Dreams Cancun!! We thought about doing a site visit because we kept going back and forth so much. However, we figured that the Dreams reception is going to cost a little more if we want it private on the beach so we should take that money for the site visit and put it toward that. Now, I'm waiting for the travel agent to let me know if we can get our first choice in dates and if not, what date we can get. What a relief it is to think we MAY have the resort picked out (assuming we can get a date!). Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Hi - I stumbled on this site while looking for a site for my beach destination wedding. I was first leaning towards Jamaica, but not am thinking Cancun because of costs for guests and a bigger selection of things to do. Thanks for all the information in the posts!!! It's extremely helpful. I'm working with someone from destination weddings and am having a hard time narrowing down a place. Will keep you posted on progress.
