Maybe your friend will skip the recital if you have the Bach. party on the same day. I went to a shower/Bach party b/c people in the bridal party lived on the West Coast (The shower was in Boston!) No one was tired - we loved it! It was so great having it all in one day. The Shower was early (brunch time) then a limo came and picked us all up for a afternoon/night in Boston! It was the most fun I have ever had! Plus everyone was able to attend both events. I live an hr away so it was even great for me! I wouldn't stress, do what works for you but I would reccommend combining both events. Good Luck!

Hi Jen, I am having my ceremony at the Royal too but the reception at the Gran - where we are all staying. I wonder if the procedures are the same? I have to call them back this week. Even though I have lots of time, I am still nervous! I just hope I can get the best deal for everyone!! Thanks for sharing this information!

I did a lot of research on Isla Mujeres, I almost decided to have my wedding there. THe hotel was too small for me needs but it seemed perfect. I heard they ar building something next door, so keep looking on Tripadvisor.com for reviews. That helped me a lot. Of course, who knows what kind of construction will happen a year from now! :-)

Its one of the only all inclusive resorts on the island ( in factit might be the only one.) I was looking into having my wedding on Isla Mujeres at first, before deciding to move it to Playa Del Carmen. I love that Island though! While I was looking I heard a lot of people say that the beach is pretty much gone due to the hurricanes. I would look into that. Maybe they have restored it. TripAdvisor.com has LOTS of great review about the hotels on that island. Good luck!

So I found out that they do up to 4 weddings in one day! Seems like everyone would be stepping all over each other? She told me no, but still I worry - did anyone have any issues with this??

Heidi - thanks for clearing that up! My FI actually wants to do a week package thing with an airline but its too hard to get a everyone coordinated to fly out the same time/location. I live close to 4 Major airports so its too hard to figure everyones schedules. Antonia - thank you so much for posting the slideshow - it was beautiful! Was the marriage legally recognized by the church? I would like to do something like that.

So if you are not doing a legal wedding you can have it any day? A Monday wedding could work...gives me something to think about. I just want it to work out for my family that can only take 2 days off from work! Argh - so hard trying to figure it all out!

I would LOVE To run a 1/2 marathon, but I am prone to stress fractures so I wouldn't want to push it too much.

I love to run! I have never ran a 1/2 marathon before though! The longest race I run is a 10K (about 6 miles). That is usually my goal every year to get in shape for. Its the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Woman held every hear on Columbus Day in Boston. It is such an inspirational run to see thousands of woman all running together! I always train with my dog. He LOVES It!! He is my motivation in the morning to get up. He expects it everyday and i can't bare to let him down. Those sad eyes gets me everytime. Although, when its snowing outside, or about 10 degrees and pitch black out - that is where I draw the line!!!

Hi Rhonda, No Micaela is my WC at the Gran...I have also been in touch with Paty. I still need to send in my booking form and checklist in! We keep changing our minds - what do yo think about a sunday wedding so it give people a chance to relax if they can only come for a long weekend. I have a lot of teacher friends and family who can only take 2 weekdays off! Plus, we have a lot of people who will be coming for a long weekend b/c they are still in school. So if people fly in on a Friday night and then can fly out on a Tuesday? Has any one had to deal with this kind of thing?? I just want to make it easier on our friends and family!
