am i being unreasonable?
Andi replied to simplnsweet's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Oh I just read back through Tara's thread, there was never an update on whether or not the proposal actually happened or not... I *think* it did though and was fine, she is around sometimes still and can maybe fill you in on how it turned out! -

hmmm, while I totally understand where you are coming from, you have to remember that this will be their vacation too. Will the BM and his gf have any of their family there with them? If they both are just friends of yours then I am assuming that they won't. that being said, I am sure people will congratulate them and such, as they should, but I don't see it taking away from your big day. Also as long as he doesn't doing ON your big day...it would be bad I think if for example he did it in the middle of the reception or something. As long though as he does it on a different day, I think it will be fine. Like I said, this is their vacation too and you do have to remember that as well. Trust me, I totally get where you are coming from but I don't see it taking anything away from your wedding. I think this same thing happened to another bride, tvt (tara). there might even be a thread on it, let me see if i can find it. same situation and in the end it was totally fine. -
hmmm I am sure this shop has been mentioned already in the thread, I can't remember. At any rate, I ordered one of these personalized hangars for my cousin who is getting married in Aug. It reads "heather *heart* brian" and it is soooo cute! I highly recommend it for pictures of the dress! the shop states an 8-10 week production time, I received mine though in just 6 weeks! You ladies should have a WC fee (ha). oh i can take paypal too Hey better you ask us these easy detail questions then Kelly (in my opinion and of course until you get super close to your wedding). That poor girl (kelly) is all on her own these days coordinating! I can't add anything more to the chuppah question than what rachel said, prob a more recent bride should answer that! so ya that is what this forum is for...to help brides! so keep researching away here! I think you are doing just fine right now!

They also serve you lunch.. we stayed up in the bridal room and talked for hours and stayed in the shade for most of it. They serve you champagne and fruit. it is great. Very relaxing ditto to all this....also you could if you wanted schedule massages but those do cost extra. not sure how much though because I had no interest in them Quote: Originally Posted by *Rachel* Kat- Nate Broshot= Nate Cordova right? I don't think my boys got in a wheelchair or anything too crazy, probably because they weren't given enough time though! I bet those are actually some good pics!

Erika that was a super breakdown of the area! haha So yes we live in Arvada which is more of a northwest suburb of Denver. My hubby and I grew up in Thornton/Broomfield which is north of Denver, so when it came time to buy we just couldn't be too far away from our roots. Personally I am not a fan of the southern suburbs (Tech center, littleton, highlands ranch, lone tree, etc.) Nothing against them but I just grew up north and that is what we like. So the Highlands, LOVE IT! I totally love the highlands. We rented there for a year before we bought our house and we were 5 mins from downtown BUT when we were there we NEVER fully enjoyed the downtown scene as much as we should have for being so close. Also yes, a lot of older and smaller homes, and there is a lot of fixing up going on over there. also the highlands is a bit more on the expensive side. We have a 2200 sqft house now in Arvada and prob would only have half that (maybe) if we were in the highlands for the same price.so for us that was just not worth it. *** side note though, my grandparents live in the highlands. we were over there for the 4th of July and I realized how "city" it is compared to where we are now. cute area but too much traffic for me! haha something I never truly noticed until recently!**** we wanted a backyard when we were renting, we looked to rent in Stapleton. Stapleton is COOL (more on the expensive side too though IMO) but there are no houses with a backyard in Stapelton...so that factor alone ruled that out for us because our dogs needed a yard. Arvada, I love it too. From our house we are about 20 mins from Denver. It is a pain to go out downtown because after a few drinks we have to get a cab which is pricey but we really don't go downtown so for us that doesn't matter. The closest mall to Arvada is Colorado Mills which is a faux mall but I always find good things there (more like outlet shops)...that is like 10 mins from my house. We are about 5 mins from old town arvada which is really changing (for the good!) http://www.historicarvada.org/ there are some cute restaurants there and little shops and such. but ya any questions on the suburbs I know that part!

My hubby wore his suit over, well with no tie...lol apparently having his friends help him with the tie last minute in the "man room" was a big production because Nicole was telling them to GO and with the "pressure" of her doing so the boys couldn't get their act together and get his tie tied! Anyway, he is glad he did because the boat was running late and he would have had zero time to actually change as Nicole was making him MOVE! side note on the "man room" (I laughed when you called it that Rachel!) just for those who have never been there, there is a bathroom (toilet, mirror, sink) but no shower so your FI couldn't actually "get ready" there.

ha! take a deep breath! This same thing happened to me...I too tried to tell my hubby to get something the season before while summer stuff was out, no luck there. LOL not to stress you out or anything but because he dragged his feet so much on this, he didn't have his suit in hand until oh about 5 days before we left for Mexico! This was the ONLY thing he had to do for the wedding and this is the reason why, he is a procrastinator! I finally around January (we were married in April) just let it go and didn't let it stress me. Hey as long as he showed up right?! so yeah, if he didn't get that suit it wasn't about to be my problem when he was frantically looking for something! In the end, it all worked out just fine

I would tend to agree with Kat in that 8 plus yourself might be a bit on the tight side. there are not a lot of outlets and it is not a huge space to begin with. there were 4 adults and 3 kids when we were there, it was a good thing that would could send the kids out to play and explore because otherwise it would have been tight! I am sure you could do it though, just be prepared for some tight quarters getting ready. LOVE HER!! haha I love that part about her pretty much never saying 'no' to you! That is great! Your cake came out good and YES you are right it is SOOOOOO yummy, I am jealous you got to take it all back! our guests pretty much took all of ours (which was fine) but we never really got to fully enjoy it and it was AMAZING! Everything looks great! congrats mrs.! -
Megan! You joined yay! (I was the recommendation of LC...or my mom was ) Congrats on the booking! and you already have your STD's (save the dates) out too?! wow you are on it! I certainly wouldn't hurt to start getting your hotel and photog booked now, especially if there is a certain photog you want to use, they might book up early! You could also get a room block on the hotel so that your guests know the price. A lot of DW brides go through at travel agent to help get the rooms blocks booked. there are some great ones on the forum that can help and get you prices and such. Anyway, now that you are part of the forum search away on finding the info you need! there is so much of it out there... here are the steps on how to search for things... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...k-forum-32320/
