  1. wow congrats, I just checked out the Couples thread....that is IMPRESSIVE! I am sure that there will be a ton of brides who will greatly benefit from all of the info that you compiled!
  2. hmm the first thing that comes to my mind is Playa Fiesta...have you looked into that hotel? it is smaller and if you have enough guests you basically can rent the whole hotel (or so i have heard ) I know there are a few brides around here who are getting married there...I am sure they will give you more details than I can.... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36534
  3. I really like this song too! It is just so catchy! THANKS now I have stuck in my head!
  4. I just found this pic online...this is what I am thinking of doing! (for everyone who does better with pics like me! )

  6. I am biased because I am having my straight neckline (almost identical to yours) changed into a sweetheart! I love the sweetheart neckline so i am paying for the alterations to get it changed! I am picking mine up completed next saturday so i will be sure to post pics! I would say just check with the seamstress before to make sure they can do it correctly! Erika, let me know when you are ready to get your dress altered...I found a GREAT wedding seamstress in Arvada...so far she has been amazing! all she does are wedding dresses and her prices are reasonable too!
  7. those look great! My DIY invites were modeled after Olio Style as well! I loved their stuff, just couldn't justify spending that much on the invites! and doesn't it feel so much better now that you have saved money and completed them on your own?!

I am thinking of printing out signs to tie around our 2 dogs necks that will read something like "Please marry our mommy today" then taking pics of them (if i can get them to sit still long enough!) and then i will put those pics on the front of a card that I will get my FI on our wedding day. I am also thinking about doing something similar (with signs on their necks and pictures) and putting pics of them at our cake table or guest book table...that way pics of our babies are at the reception too!
  9. thanks for the info! I was wondering the same thing as am I working on my mypublisher BPic book now! no pics are nude but some give the idea that there are no clothes...you know what i mean? either way thanks for the info!

We too are about 90% decided on Casa Velas...the only thing I think that is holding us back from booking it is that it is not right on the beach...I am trying to convince FI though that it will be fine to take the shuttle to the beach! Hopefully we will have it booked by this weekend!
  11. what about ordering online? we were having the same problem finding a white linen suit for FI....we just ordered from here WeddingTropics can't speak to the quality because we just ordered this week!
  12. Jess, have you decided where you are going to stay for your honeymoon? We still haven't! yes i know, we are only about a month away! initially we were only going to stay for a week but have decided to extend our stay and have some alone time! so that is why we are not booked yet we are still torn between Villa La Estancia, Villa Premiere and now after your suggestion, casa velas!!!! Because we will be in Nuevo for the wedding portion i am thinking i really want to move closer to town....oh decisions, decisions!

Nathaniel Thompson's Photography Blog what a great write up on Nathaniel's site! WOO reading stuff like that never gets old, it just makes me more EXCITED!!!!!!!!!
  14. it's almost APRIL!!!!! I am not until the end of April so right now I feel like I have so much time left! How is everyone else doing though? especially you all who are in the first week of April!? Suprisingly I feel like my to-do list is shrinking and I am not really stressed about anything...just EXCITED!!!!! Here are the big things I left to do, most will be accomplished this weekend and shouldn't be too time consuming! -Order photobook with Bpics (it is all created, just need to order it!) -Finish luggage tags and send out pre-travel packets (these will go out next week!) -welcome book for OOT bags -finish getting all of the things for OOT bags -pick up my dress! -Get FI's suit altered (that should arrive next week) -Get parent's gifts...not quite sure what I am going to do for this yet! Really that is all I have left to do! I feel like we could leave tomorrow and I would be ok if that stuff wasn't completed! (well i would need my dress and FI's suit!)

I used a template I made in word and used double sided tape to hold it in place underneath the mylar paper, then stuck them on individually usuing bent nose tweezers. The fabric on my dress is ribbed on the top where I applied my wording. I stretched it over a wood cutting board before/during ironing so they wouldn't pop off when I wear it. The crystals are HotFix so you do not need to use glue, the iron sticks them on I did a white bikini for hte day after as well since I got the hang of it Girl those look great! you have a lot more patience then I do! I did the monogram cake topper and applied the crystals individually and have a ton left over BUT I don't know if i have the patience for the clothing! might have to think about it though...your stuff looks fab!

DH tipped her early in the day and then I was stressed because I was worried it wasnt enough. So big mouth hubby went up to her and asked if what he gave was appropriate. She said it ranges, some people give a little, some give really good. She was very classy about it and when he asked she said she hadnt looked at the amount. Personally, I think if we had given too little she is WAY TOO CLASSY to have said anything. I would be curious to find out if there is an appropriate amount. I truly had no idea what is right, and just took a guess. wow good to know, thanks for the insight! I guess there is no right or wrong amount...as long as what you give you feel confident about? hmmm i will have to talk this over with FI! thanks!

About how much did you spend per person for the welcome dinner? Also, how does tipping work at Las Caletas? Any information would be greatly appreciated! On tipping...I THINK that some of the tips are included in the contract. $10 per person and that is just for the wait staff? someone correct me if i am wrong! but then I think brides in the past have also tipped an extra amount to the coordinators, DJ, band? hmmm now that I think about it, I really don't know the answer to tipping...someone help!

We have decided to NOT have one. our parents I think though are going to try to push for one...and that is fine as long as they plan and pay for it! the whole reason for us having a DW is to 1.) save money and 2.) keep the wedding as simple as possible with only the (and I hate to sound like a snot here) important people there!

    Confessions

I have two confessions for today 1.) There is a small part of me that will be so glad when this wedding is over! I feel like every extra penny that we have goes straight to something for the wedding and I am tired of it! We bought a house last September and now that the weather is getting nicer I want to spend some money re-doing the landscaping and stuff but I can't even think about that until this dang wedding is over!!!!!!!! 2.) I am so over the wedding diet! Mostly because I have been so busy at work that I really can't focus on working out as much as I would like to because I am always so dang tired at night and the last thing i want to do is go workout. I mean, the weight I am at right now is not any heavier (or lighter) than I usually am. FI likes me the way that I am...I just have it stuck in my head though that I need to lose 10 more lbs. for all the swimsuit wearing that is coming up....but right now I am just over it! BLAH! wow...suprisingly I feel much better now
  20. aaaaagh! I just saw this(of course after I made a comment about your wedding being on Sat. on the LC thread!) Have a GREAT TIME!!!!!! take lots of pics and have a drink (or two) for me while you are down there!
  21. Brittany, OMG! I just realized your wedding is saturday! Have a wonderful time and bring us back tons of pics!

There was something so special about doing it privately and no one in the world knowing we were doing it, it made it really special, and it did not take anything away from our real day. We stll will celbrate our anniv on 7/13 even though our PV wedding was 12/28. Congrats Andi! ha! that is too funny! Yeah we had a great day in Vegas and now looking back on it all, it is really cool and special that just the two of us shared together with nobody else...everytime i look at my little vegas bouquet I just crack up laughing because we really just had SO MUCH FUN! Plus what a great story for years down the road! AND now hopefully we can make it back to Vegas more often, now that we have extra special ties there!
