We had our sibblings but there were times when I wish we would have skipped that:) You'll save more $ than you think. My GF's that came to the wedding all wore blue so I had some pics taken with all of them and they were so cute! So I guess what I am saying is that you can still have the cute pics with your GF's without having an actual wedding party! Hi Kate! I have been over for both the day tour and the Rhythms of the Night show at night. If you are only doing one, I would suggest doing the night Rhythms show. The show is actually pretty good! so you take the boat over, eat dinner there and then watch the show. I would do that tour again when we go back to PV next time!

I have zero regrets but I will say before the wedding there were a few times I thought the same thing as you about pics and such. Really though not having a wedding party made it much easier to take pics. we only had 35 guests so with the wedding being so small I too really wanted the day just to be about us. When I went over to LC during the day my mom, 2 aunts and flower girl went with me and they all got ready over there. I think it was a good decision for us not to have a wedding party, much less stress. Go with your gut feeling. If you think you might regret it later maybe just have one friend/relative stand up with you guys on each side?

Also he goes to LC from Nuevo Vallarta so that is a pretty long haul just to get there. Yes it is spendy but in the end it was totally worth it, and the way I looked at it too was that it was my wedding day and I would only be doing it once! ldeavila- I am sure you could get it done cheaper at the hotels but then you have to remember the boat ride over...could get pretty windy!

Kristy! you can come visit Erika and I and check it out! I do love ft. collins as anna mentioned above (that is where I went to college) but I grew up in a suburb of Denver and now live in a different suburb of Denver. we LOVE IT (although I do hate the snow!). DH and I are about 15 minutes to red rocks and about 20 mins (in the other direction) to downtown denver. what else do you want to know? i can fill you in !

whoa so many new LC brides all of a sudden, or maybe you all are just in the midst of planning your weddings looks like Ann answered the firedancer time question, which was a wayyyy better answer than I would have had because I zero knowledge of the time on my wedding day! as far as getting ready at the hotel or LC....depends on what you want to do honestly. I spent the entire day at LC and left at 9am to go over there. there is no way i would have wanted hair and makeup done then. if you are maybe not planning on going over for the day then getting hair/makeup at the hotel is possible but on the boat you will get pretty wind-blown i would imagine. when are you planning on heading over? with your guests or early in the morning?

on the fire dancers with drummers, we had them at our wedding. they do perform together. it really is pretty cool. we did not tell our guests about it so as a song ended the drummers just start pounding on their drums but they are hidden, people were so confused at first but it really was great! if you have ever seen the rhythms of the night show, the drummers/dancers are performers from there. it is worth the money in my opinion...how many weddings have fire dancers?! Ann - thanks for the link, I do love looking at LC wedding pics!

Im just wondering if it is worth getting. you can get them but I did not....from what I have heard from past brides (on here but I can't remember who) was that for the price they are not worth it and some of them didn't even pop, they were duds. we opted not to get them for that reason alone.

AND on our wedding day, I forgot my make-up, money to pay fernando (hair guy) AND my ipod song lists didnt save and/or work correctly! It all was fine though in the end don't worry everything will end up just perfect!

I would ask Kelly specifically...our photogs did come over via water taxi around 11:30 in the morning, I had gone over with the morning tour around 9. so i know that the water taxi route might be a possibility...I just dont know if they can get a taxi back after just 3 hours? our photogs stayed then all day...from 11:30 in the morning until our entire group went back at 11pm, we counted them as guests so that they could have a meal. also IMO I am not sure if having the photog be there for only 3 hours would be enough time? ours took a lot of pics around LC and just our ceremony/formals alone probably totaled close to 2 hours of time.

No bridesmaid or groomsmen by choice
Andi replied to purpleshells's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
we had no wedding party and I do not regret it one bit! I feel like it saved us a lot of stress, money, etc. we did have a flowergirl and ringbearer though.... when we were discussing the possibility of having a wedding party or not I think my hubby put it best...he asked "what is the difference between our friends standing up or sitting down at the ceremony?" and because our wedding was so small, there was no difference! -

I'm just about finished making my engagement party book and I'm wondering if you've had a chance to see a book with just the regular paper? We're looking at giving some as thank you gifts and wondering if it's worth it where we are ordering a few. We'll definitely do the higher quality for our wedding book. Thanks for sharing your day and your beautiful book. Karen Oh i can answer this one! I saw Erika's book the last time I was at her house (she has the higher quality paper) you can def. tell that it is a better quality paper, it is thicker and heavier than mine. My books are the regular paper because I had too many pages to get the better quality. we gave out 6 books over the holidays to aunts/grandmas/parents....they all got the regular paper, nobody noticed and I certainly wasn't going to tell them the difference Long story short, yes the higher quality is nicer paper BUT the average person will most likely never know the difference between the high quality and the standard. Now if I had my book next to Erika's you could probably tell the difference...it would just be your preference i guess, if you want to pay the extra money for it or not...

I just found out that a couple of people get motion sickness and we are worried about the boat ride. Does anyone know of any remedies that can calm them down during the ride over. Thanks. depends on how fast the boat ride is, when I went to LC the morning of the wedding we took the sort of sceanic route and it was probably closer to an hour. the waters were nice and calm. when our guests went to over to LC from what I have heard the ride was shorter, about 40-45 mins and they were hauling it! (some of our guests were late to the dock) the boat ride was VERY bumpy i am so glad that nobody got sick but they were all very wind blown and couldn't even enjoy a drink on the boat because it would just spill. i would give all your guests dramimine and suggest that if they are worried/are know to have motion sickness that they take it. i provided all my guests with some but honestly i am not sure how many actually used it. one week after our wedding we went over to the Rhythms of the night show and then the ride was very smooth. I guess it just depends on the tide and how fast the boat is actually going.
