What about finger foods? How was the presentation? Thanks for all your help.
  2. My daughter is doing a quick ceremony the evening before she leaves for Mexico. They will consider the Mexico wedding date their "real" anniversary. There are lots of hoops to jump through for a ceremony to be legal in Mexico, thus the 2 ceremonies.
  3. Thanks! You have been so helpful. I'm sure we'll have more questions for you soon.
  4. Wow! Thanks so much. They are getting married May 20, but not moving until mid-July as he'll be going to medical school there. The Sam's/WalMart cards say they are only good here and in Puerto Rico (at least that's what mine says on the back of it). Also, how hard is it to get stuff across the border and through customs? Thank you so very much!
  5. I have a question: My daughter is getting married and moving to Guadalajara. Obviously they don't want gifts to have to ship down there. Do you have any great suggestions? Places to register in Mexico? Would it even be appropriate to have a shower where people give them money towards their household furnishings? ($$ towards a sofa, $$ towards a lamp?)
  6. Welcome! You'll find so much helpful information here on the forum to help you make your many decisions. Good luck!
  7. I didn't see where to get the list that Natasha posted. I did get the one from Sarah. Do I need more points?
  8. Thanks so much for sharing. I also like the idea of saying how everyone is related to/knows the couple.
  9. We've already signed the contract with the resort, but not with the photographer yet. When I emailed the resort they reiterated their policy of $500 or 3 nights.
  10. Welcome! This site has so much information and so many helpful people. Happy planning!
  11. "We have only one guest pass and it is for our photographer's assistant (getting the photog a room for one night). We ordered it from Valeria and I'm pretty sure it's $72 and is only good for eight hours. I think for those eight hours they are essentially a normal guest but double check with your WC." Bre, My question is regarding your photographer. We were told you had to either pay $500 or pay for 3 nights for an outside photog. How did you get by with 1 night and a guest pass?

  13. Welcome and Congratulations! We've found that alot of people say they will come to your DW, but when it comes time to actually commit finances and vacation time, you'll be surprised at who actually will follow through.
  14. I just got an email from the resort today confirming the policy of $500 or 3 nights stay to bring your own photographer.
  15. Welcome! There is so much information here it's unbelievable. Happy planning.

  17. Welcome and Congrats! My daughter is getting married May 20, and choosing the resort was definitely the hardest part for her. Now we're looking at photog options. Make sure your date is available at the resort.
  18. Welcome and Congratulations. There is so much awesome information here that will help in planning your wedding.
  19. I always ask for the bulkhead seats when we are checking in. These have tons of legroom, but usually don't have a very big window.
  20. Welcome and Congratulations!
  21. Welcome! I'm new, too, and trying to figure out everything. Lots of good stuff here, though.
