  1. We are planning on moving down there, I just don't know when. I will have to look you up when we come back down!
  2. She is so precious! I just love bostons. And how cute are your other babies??
  3. I would keep looking, but my wedding is in less than a month!!

  5. I think I have decided to just go with my E-ring for now, like Morgan is doing. I am a little bummed, but at the same time, I do like the solitaire by itself. Besides, I have friends who always end up just wearing their solitaire alone because they like it that way. Oh well.

I know there are so many of us going soon, Mrs V to be J Wolfe - (if not already gone) Mandy & her fab mum Shannon MaggieMaylou (If I remember correctly) CT Petch So I thought it might be nice to tell each other how excited we all are, I know I am and it will be totally fab when we get out there and so many of us I think will literally bump into each other!! So tell me some good stuff, how excited are you for your DW? Me xx Anna, can you believe we're so close? And Jennifer is already there! Congrats, Jennifer!! We can't wait to hear all about it! I do hope they don't jerk you around on the photographer or any other issue. But we do need to know these things in case some of us need to look (quickly!) at other ceremony sites!
  7. I am currently planning on getting married at EDR next month. Whether or not we stick with our plans to have our wedding there, we will not be recommending this resort to anyone. I have already told a friend of mine who will possibly be planning a destination wedding later this year to take her business elsewhere. However, should the policies change, I would be more than happy to recommend EDR, as they have been accommodating and have a beautiful resort, as long as we are treated well while we're there.
  8. Here's what you do: go visit the salon. Sit in the waiting area, prowl the counter, visit with customers. Make a recommendation to get their hair done by Andrea. Show them how beautiful your hair turned out. It's been my experience that no businesses like you hanging around to get your money back. My dad one time threatened to stay on a cruise ship for an extra week when they wouldn't take off a charge he didn't make. His money was promptly returned. Bottom line, just make sure as many people know where your hair was done, and make sure the salon knows of your recommendations!

    Hello

Welcome! I hope you find all your answers here!
  10. Well, the diamond was actually a gift from his mom (from her 3rd or 4th marriage). He keeps telling me that the rest is just gold, and it will still be from him. I just don't know. And I don't think we can afford $1700 right now.
  11. Yeah, but I really like my diamond and will probably stick with it on my left hand. If I compromise anywhere, it will be no wedding band, just the solitaire. Plus, the wedding band I want is really simple and not so much a stand-alone ring. Are you going to wear your e-ring on your right hand after you get married? I know one of the girls (I can't remember who, maybe a mod?) had an absolutely beautiful wedding band that she wears alone on her left hand.
  12. You are so absolutely beautiful! It looks like you had an amazing time. Thanks for the pics!
  13. Wow, that sounds like an incredible deal! I need to re-build my airmiles again. I'm ready for another trip.
  14. I have this amazingly beautiful solitaire E-ring. However, my problem is that I cannot find a wedding band to go with it. It is a Solstice brand 6-prong tiffany mounting with approx 1 1/4 diamond. The band itself is very thick, making any possible wedding band not fit next to it. In addition, the stone is set very low, so the band would have to be curved to fit next to it. I want a band that has shared-mount set small diamonds, but apparently this doesn't exist in a thick, curved band. I could have one made, but I'm getting quotes in the $1700 range (with the price of gold and the cost of designing the ring). I am way too cheap to pay that for my wedding band, so now we might be looking for an entire new setting. Maybe I'm just being too picky. I've even thought about no wedding band, but I kind of feel like a solitaire needs a wedding band with it. Any (cheap) ideas?
  15. I will have had about 4 months by my wedding date. I am feeling a little crunch right now, simply because I'm making my own invites and contemplating a new ring setting, but that will soon pass and I'll be back to coasting again. One word of advise: El Dorado Royale had changed some policies, so I would look elsewhere right now. If it didn't take so much effort, I might even change resorts at this point. Good luck!
  16. The problem with Mexican registries is that most websites tend to be in Spanish, and my guests don't do well past "hola".

I likely won't move the guests, but it might be nice to have the ceremony elsewhere. We could still do our "free" wedding reception at EDR. I haven't decided yet.
  18. I'm a little late to the game, so I'll just put the header from our website. My bouquet also has bird of paradise. I took this photo in San Diego when I met my FSIL and got to know my FI's family.
  19. Maura, that would involve actually finding my camera, charging it, then transferring the pics to my computer! No worries about Semana Santa. We had a blast and still figured out some important stuff, like that it might actually be cheaper to bring some stuff down with us (like appliances and furniture). If so, that means we actually get to register here! Which would make things so much easier once the invites go out.
  20. I'm quite ready for the beach. Especially today after the rain and 50s temps we had in Missouri.

I've also gotten them to Managua, Nicaragua for 30K (from Missouri). One warning: if you're traveling in a short amount of time (30 days or less, I think), there's an extra charge up to $75 for using your reward miles.
  22. Well, I lived in Nicaragua, so I knew about Semana Santa. The problem came when we went the week after Semana Santa, and everything was still closed and anyone who might have been working was still at the beach. Should have known.
