Hilton Brides!
indypitty replied to Jessica&Adam's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I also was having trouble with Fernanda's slow response time the past few weeks, but she has been quick to respond to me in the past couple of days. As my wedding date has gotten closer, she has been much more attentive and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. She truly has been great in getting info. to me and answering my tons of questions! I know how frustrating it can be, though. Today Fernanda sent me a lot of pictures from a wedding held at the Hilton yesterday (on the beach). I don't want to post them all here since the people who get married probably don't even know she e-mailed them to me, but if anyone wants top see some, PM me. -

Jessica, Our rates for double occupancy (the last week of June) are $145 a night. We lucked out though, because they didn't have enough standard rooms for our block, and so they upgraded all of the rooms in our block to deluxe rooms, which have the walk-out balcony, for the same price. -

That's weird, because I e-mailed her last Thursday about a guest with a booking issue and she hasn't responded yet. Maybe I should e-mail her again. We have not yet decided what we will tip her, but I agree that 10% is a lot! I know we will not tip that much! -

Okay, Fernanda has been taking a really long time replying to my e-mails in the past few weeks. It's making me so nervous since our wedding is next month! Is anyone else having the same problem? It's been taking her about a week to reply and it used to take about 2 days max! -

Thanks for warning me, BeachBride. One of the best things I've found about the Hilton so far is that they do not charge at all to bring in outside vendors! -

It looks fabulous! I found that Fernanda was a little harder to get a hold of at first, but as my wedding has gotten closer, she has been absolutely wonderful and very responsive! I e-mailed her a few days ago, and haven't heard back, so maybe she is out of the office for a few days. -

kimdelc, You're ahead of me and my wedding is two months before yours! I haven't even chosen our menu yet. I need to get it to Fernanda by the end of this month. Thanks for the tip about sides. Are you getting a wedding cake through the Hilton? Fernanda told me to just e-mail her a picture of the cake I want and the chef will recreate it. I wish I could see pictures of cakes they've done. I will need to ask her about that... -
Welcome and congrats from a fellow Hilton bride! I will be getting married there a couple of months before you.

Did you use the gold foil doilies, and if so, where did you find them? Thanks!
-
You're right, Cheese Diva! I just found this link that explains how to make them! Lacy Luminarias and more inspiring wedding dresses, bouquets, cakes, favors, and advice on marthastewart.com This seems so easy, cheap, and easy to travel with! And I think luminaries originated in Mexico. We are having our reception dinner on an outdoor terrace and I think these would look great on the ledge.

I am thinking about using some paper luminaries at our reception site. I was inspired by the picture at the bottom of this inspiration board: All the luminaries I am finding online are kind of cheesy. Does anyone know where I can find some like in the picture? Or how to go about making them? Thanks!!!

Hi Jessica! I'm glad to see that you guys decided to get married at the Hilton! I don't think there are too many of us HIlton brides out there since most people seem to go the AI route. 1. When is your wedding and # of guests? June 27 ~ approx. 20 guests 2. Ceremony location? Miramar Garden 3. Cocktail hour location (if you're having one)? Hmmm... need to ask Fernanda! She is the best. 4. Reception location? Caribe Terrace ~ We are having a dinner reception only, no dancing. We will probably go out somewhere afterwards. 5. What vendors are you using (minister, photog, florists, dj/live band, etc) Photograher ~ Martha Roque We are using whoever the Hilton uses for everything else. I don't even know who is marrying us yet! Should probably check into that... 6. Any additional fun info about your wedding, pics, etc! I would love to see pictures from your site visit!!! -

Here are mine... If I wear heels I am the same height as my FI, and I don't want that on our wedding day! I might wear them in orange... -
Hyperpigmentation Anyone?
indypitty replied to Mel's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I also have this problem and I have been thinking about it a lot lately since my wedding is in June! It is truly a huge PITA. I have used Tri-Luma, which worked well for me. I have also used Glyquin, which I didn't like as well. I really just need to avoid the sun as much as possible before the wedding. -
Does anyone happen to know what kind of flowers these are?

That sounds great! I looked online and couldn't find any info. We are getting married at the Hilton in Cancun and also considering doing corkage. Thanks!

Congrats and welcome! We were planning on getting married at Excellence Playa Mujeres, but my nephews are now coming so we couldn't do an adults-only. We are going there for our honeymoon, though! Can't wait! BTW, you can great amazing prices on EPM through quickrooms.com. It was about $600 cheaper than anywhere else.
