  1. Well, I will be getting married at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya in July of this year, I know that might be too late to help you with your decision, but I will for sure keep you posted as the event gets closer and let you know what kind of experience I have...(I plan on it being completely wonderful!!!)
  2. well...we didn't budget for a photographer. We will use what comes with our wedding package at the resort, and then ask friends and family to take a bunch and hope for a few good ones. With all that you can do to digital pictures on your own, we just decided to put that money towards other things (like a few extra nights at the resort for us!!!). I know this is not how most people would opt to spend their money, but I just couldn't justify spending that much (as one reason for our DW was to save us some money).
  3. Well, we are getting married at 2, because after the ceremony we are going out on a boat for cocktails and then we'll come back for dinner and the rest of the night ... it will be hot, but that is pretty much just part of the deal If we didn't have the plan to go out for the boat ride, I would want a 4:00 or 5:00 wedding I think...
  4. Very cute! Where did you get the little containers for the first aid kits - or did you buy pre-made kits and just put your own label on them?
  5. Thanks sooooo much for that resource list!!! I am in the process of planning the other parts of our trip (besides the wedding) and getting info to our guests (I feel like I'm becoming a travel agent and this list is so helpful to me! Thanks a ton for sharing!
  6. Absolutely beautiful!!! It looked like the perfect day!
  7. I'll have to agree with the other girls...go with the one you like. We are getting married at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya, because we had friends who got married at the RIU Palace Mexico, and loved it. I just went online and looked at the RIU properties and chose the Palace Riviera Maya because it looked so beautiful. I think you just have to go with your heart/gut feeling on this, and then don't look back. It's your wedding!!! It will be wonderful at either place!!!!
  8. This point system is kind of complicated...I was just sailing along reading whatever I could, didn't know what was going on with those points...guess I need to get posting instead of my hours of just reading...heehee! Time to learn how to post photos....

I just found I really like getting artistic every now & then. Well...I love seeing all of your stuff, and all of the other girls' stuff on here...and I agree that it is fun to make all of this stuff....I feel like I'm in a lul (sp??) or dead-time in my planning, because I'm waiting for people to RSVP. Like, I can't really put together OOT bags yet because I don't know how much of everything I will need (although that hasn't stopped me from buying the Spanish for Dummies books from Target or ordering the individual, personalized packets of Margarita Mix...I"m just buying this stuff guessing about 30 ppl. but who knows.... I just feel like I can't do too much yet because I don't know how many people will be coming...Anyone else have this problem?
  10. You've found the right place if you're feeling overwhelmed...this site was the answer to my prayers...really!!! Use the search feature to help dig through all of the forums...there is soooo much information on here! Good luck and Welcome!
  11. Welcome to the site! There is sooo much helpful information on here. It's amazing how many of my ideas come from the other girls on here...I'll be a RIU Palace Riviera Maya Bride this summer! Can't wait!!!!!
  12. Amazing work Morgan! I'm jealous!!!!! and feel like a bad destination bride...I keep telling myself I have plenty of time, but I know the weeks will go by fast...you are very inspiring!
  13. Kelly - Thanks for sharing all of those pics!!! Everything looked beautiful! One quick question, was your wedding dinner private
  14. Lauren, everything looks SOOOO good! All of you girls on here make me feel like a terrible bride because I could never think of all of this stuff on my own! Your pictures are really inspiring me to get some cute stuff put together though. Very good job...your guests are going to love everything.

We were engaged in November, we finalized wedding plans by first week in January, I sent out invitations and travel information 2nd week of January, with a reply by date end of March, and wedding will be July 31st. Maybe a little early, but I read invites/information should be sent out earlier than normal...5-6 months ahead of time at least. I wasn't sure exactly about RSVP date, but figured by then most people would know, and I will be anxious to start finalizing things, OOT bags, and all those other fun details!!!
  16. Ok - yeah, I guess I'm unsure of how many people we will have yet. You'll have to keep us updated on your planning...what restuarant you pick, etc...I'm very excited to hear about it!!!

Where did you get the info for the Maya Zipline I'm lost on where to get the information for day trips and excursions....any suggestions for me?
  18. Morgan - it looks GREAT!!! I just love seeing all that you've put together! I get so many great ideas on this website I LOVE IT!!! Anyway, I had a quick question for you - or anyone else out there...how did you find information on your excursions...the deep sea fisihing trip and the trip to the ruins I am also getting married in the Riviera Maya and we want to put these two outings together for our guests and I just feel lost trying to find information on them. ANY SUGGESTIONS/ADVICE Thanks!!!

What I put in them will totally be decided by budget...what I can find good deals on will be what I get. So far I bought the little Spanish for Dummies books from the dollar baskets at Target (SUPER GOOD DEAL!). We will also order personalized playing cards, either can koozies or some sort of cup/water bottle, and that is all I have decided on...lots of girls on here have super good ideas for what to get and where to find the best deals. I'm not sure I'm going to get canvas bags or not yet, I guess I'm going to wait to see how many guests we have coming before I do too much.

I think we'll just go to one of the lounges or bars at one of the Riu's and have a cocktail hour or three. But I will definitly let you know how things go and different ideas on what you can do after dinner! We are going to try to put together a "sunset cruise" for our guests...rent some sort of large boat, and have a combo boat cruise/cocktail hour. We purposely scheduled our wedding for early afternoon just so we could fit this in before dinner. I had a friend do it (she was married at the RIU Palace Mexico) and they said it was a huge hit with the guests.
  21. I am getting married at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya...and am super excited about it. I think it looks beautiful and LOVE the all-inclusive aspect of it. I think it'll be perfect

I'm not looking for any type of traditional receptions, just a place to drink and hang out...and drink When is your wedding?
