All of Morgan's wedding stuff
manda0812 replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
I have just seen this thread, firstly I have been so inspired by you and all your amazing DIY efforts and to think you started off not really knowing what you were going to do. I am also amazed how you (and most of the girls on here) manage to work, study, socialise, organise a wedding and spend time on BDW. I feel bad that I am not on here as much but I spend so much time during the day on the computer that it's often the last thing I feel like doing. Anyway again well done on everything and it was great to see a recap so soon after seeing all your pics of your wonderful day. -

this time in 2 weeks I will dancing the night away with my husband to be.. can't believe it's almost here started the programs today, going to be time consuming but it's really one of the last things left and for the first time in ages we have no social engagements booked on the weekends.. yay so I am feeling really good about everything. I even like my dress again. -
Morgan's Riviera Maya wedding review
manda0812 replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Great review Morgan, I couldn't agree more, your photos and video are with you for a lifetime and they need to be great. My friend's children watch her wedding video all the time (of course they weren't born) but they get such a thrill out of it, that it is such a good idea to have one even if you cringe when you hear yourself speak, I hate seeing myself on video but love photos! -

More pro pics!!

these are just some of the best photos I have seen, she captured the moments perfectly. you all look so amazing and I look forward to seeing more. I am so loving the model shots as I said in your first post, they look great. also the one where Mike is lifting you, were you a ballerina - you have the right pose for it! -
If you search for passports you will see heaps of threads and there are quite a few people that have templates on this site. Your ideas sound fun, you could always do flags or something that is unique to each country as a centrepiece, for instance if you have been to England, you could have a replica tower of London or something like that.. anyway just a thought.

Photobooks here you come! I bet the effort was all worth it well done

My FI is an electrician by trade but now works in the office designing overhead and underground powerlines. He earns just over 100k a year, he has no degree just learnt on the job. The company we both work for pay very well. I am a business analyst there and earn just under what he does and I don't do any overtime. we are making the most of it until I give up work to become a mum hopefully

July '08 NEWLYWEDS chat!
manda0812 replied to katrina's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Hi all, another couple of weeks has flown by and I keep wanting to get on here and write. I check it through my hotmail at work but life has been busy busy. Maura - so glad you found the ring, it's funny how you can turn a house upside down for weeks and find nothing and then one simple turn of something and lo and behold it turns up. I bet you are relieved. Abbie - your photos are great, shower dress (the colours reminded me a bit of Maura's shower dress - greens must be in!), your sweetheart neckline etc etc. Has anyone else felt that their social life has increased as everyone seems to want to have dinner with you before you get married? My hens night (aka bachelorette is tomorrow night) - the theme is fairy tale meets superhero and I am wonder woman. should be hilarious. Mexican food and then the bus pub crawl. I promise to post photos. I have had a few dramas with my wedding venue, just last week (with 4 weeks to go) she tells me that the cocktail party by the pool will be too dark and you need lighting oh and by the way you have to pay for that. First quote $2500 WTF! I went a little mental and said not a chance, so then it comes down to $841 which is ok but wait there's more. Now not allowed any glass in the pool area so therefore the bar will have to be set up outside the pool fence (in Australia pools have to be fenced) and people would have to get their drinks passed over the pool fence. was sounding tackier by the minute. So I had a small panic attack, took a few deep breaths and decided to move the reception into the function room/terrace area. Which means more work for us as we have to set it up but I will not let them get off scott free, they will be getting their hands dirty. Anyway I have decided to make the most of it and create a few different themes within the room: - a disco area with high tables and dance floor to create a night club atmosphere - bamboo flares in the terrace area with low tables - chill out area with couches, bean bags, ottomons and day beds - candy station area - photo area so all in all I think it will be fine but was just a bit annoyed at them for making all these last minute changes. luckily I am rather relaxed about it all and was open to moving it. so what do I have left to do: - programs - guest book - grandparents and parents wedding photos in frames for guest book signing table - buy candy and scoops - dentist - nails (but will do that in the week of the wedding) What have I just done: had my final dress fitting on the weekend, it is now staying in the shop until just before we leave. Does anyone else try on their dress and not think it is the best thing in the world, I mean I like it but I am not totally in love with it, but with 22 days to go, I will make the most of it, perhaps when I have the make-up and jewellery and veil all together, it will do the trick. Has anyone else been avoiding the DIY forums in the last couple of months? I have because I kept getting new ideas and wanting to do things again or think of something new to add to the wedding and my list was getting way too long and out of control so I thought best I not look at other people's amazing things whilst I need to concentrate on getting things done. phew, sorry this has been long but I really needed a chat. I will try and post photos of the dress fitting etc. I have another dress that I am considering for the night time after all the formalities are over. will try and get a photo of that also, opinions are gratefully received. Have a good weekend all, I am off to save the world as wonder woman.. xx -
