Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I finally decided on the Royal Playa del Carmen and firmed up the date today... the date is June 4 '08! I'm happy with my choice... plus it kind of works out as my fiance's parents are divorced and one set will be staying at one resort and the other at the other sister property! lol... Now onto all the fun planning stuff like OTT bags, picking a photographer, etc. I checked out the forums... you guys have great ideas!!!

Hello Everyone! After countless weeks of pouring over Trip Advisor and getting confused over which resort to pick I came across this forum. What a great site with so much information! Our wedding is going to be at the beginning of June and I'm just finalizing my wedding date of June 5th at the Royal Playa del Carmen... although I keep questioning my choice and wondering if I should choose one of the many other beautiful resorts I've researched. So far I've picked the Royal Playa del Carmen b/c it is w/in walking distance to the town of Playa del Carmen, the pictures look beautiful, the reviews are good and it's the size I'm looking for. I had a hard time finding a resort for the children who are attending, but those guests are able to stay at the sister resort, the Gran Porto Real, next door.... which is not ideal, but I think will still work. It's sooo tough picking the place! Plus I keep worrying about making sure I choose a location that works for all my guests. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Heidi
