  1. I love your pictures - beautiful! You two are a great looking couple - and wonderful job, Jean-Marcus! Gorgeous photos!

  3. Very nice and artistic! I can see why the prices are high, but I would still look into seeing if somebody can custom make it for you, though - you might find it cheaper going that route
  4. I think it all depends on what the bands are like (ie are there diamonds, which are bringing the price up or is it a plain band that you could possibly find for less elsewhere?). The band I fell in love with was a diamond eternity band from Tiffanys that was $5000. I thought that was too much, but also fell in love with it and had my heart set on it. I probably would have spent that on it or tried to find a similar one elsewhere, but found it at an auction (the exact ring in my exact size - I felt like Cinderella!) and we got it for $2500. We looked today for rings for FI and probably will be spending around $500 for his.
  5. Wow! I love everything you've done! Your soaps turned out fantastic! I may have to attempt some myself after seeing how great yours turned out! Your hankerchiefs are so sweet and thoughtful... I think they'll need them as soon as you give them to your mom, dad and FMIL.... so sweet!
  6. Thank you so much for the monogram, Sarah! I love it! I'm totally going to the donation button right now! I love the little Ainsleigh monograms... I already have a name picked out for when I have a girl. Would that be weird to get one done before I'm married and before I'm even TTC? lol...
  7. No problem! Happy to help! I'm sure they'll get a new shipment in soon for you
  8. oh... and, yes, the color is bright, but great! We will definitely see all of our guests, but I love the color. I'm doing a chocolate brown iron on - I'll make sure to post them when I'm done and figure out the posting of pictures ... I know there are threads on how to post pics so I'll make sure to get to it soon!

Thanks, Alipires1, for posting a picture of them. Monica if you want any more pictures pm me with your email address - I haven't figured out how to post pics online yet but I did take a few pictures against a black and hardwood backdrop before I noticed Alipires1posted the pic... but just let me know if you want to see any more

I want cheap first-aid kits too!!! Argh I found them here in Ottawa at Dollarama! I was disappointed b/c I went in one day and didn't see anything... but I was in there they other day and they had a ton. If there is a Dollarama nearby check there!

My resort is taking care of my flowers, but I want to find vases just like those ones - the color is perfect!

I was a flight attendant and so miss the traveling and free flights... but I wanted to be home more for when I eventually have a family and it wasn't something I wanted to do forever. Right now I'm in school on my way to becoming a pharmacist. My FI is an economist.

  15. That's perfect! Thanks, Morgan, for posting this and sharing your template. I'm going to have steal another great idea... thanks!
  16. We were planning on a St Lucia wedding, but decided on Mexico to keep costs down for everybody. Also a lot of the resorts we were interested in didn't work for us... we would have been interested in Sandals, but have children coming to our wedding. We were thinking of Windjammer Landing, but decided in the end to have our wedding in Mexico and honeymoon on St Lucia. I think Mexico will be lots of fun w/ all our guests, and St Lucia will be a great, romantic honeymoon spot. We're leaving from Mexico to St Lucia after our wedding and are staying at Discovery Marigot, which looks beautiful! We'll be there from June 7-14... let me know if there's anything you want me to check out while we're there!

I know you don't want to have to ask anyone to do it for you so maybe this is the best option. Also, at least if you throw it, you'll wind up doing what you want to do as opposed to going someplace that you wouldn't have really liked. Why not give it some more time & see what your friends do. Maybe they'll surprise you & get it together. I agree... hopefully w/ time your friends will step up to the plate... but if they don't, and you want to have one then you should definitely go ahead and make sure you get to enjoy one

Just make sure you don't try to bring one on board and have it in your checked bag instead
  19. Ahhh... thanks everyone for your input! I was leaning towards the invites but sometimes it's just nice to hear it from others... especially as I was so into keeping it simple at the beginning and then did a 180. Kelly, I completely agree w/ you, though, about the RSVP thing. I'm going to skip that part and do a contact us via email or phone type of thing... it seems from what I read on the forum most people aren't good at responding to RSVPs anyways. What Do You Ladies Think? I have to agree w/ you on this one! In my opinion, it's not okay to put monetary gifts appreciated, especially in the case of a destination wedding where people are going to have to spend a lot to make it there. You could do a registry, although I would shy away from putting info about your registry on invites and leave that one to word of mouth only. That's just my opinion, though - we're not doing a registry b/c I really want people to know that coming to my wedding is present enough for me. My case is perhaps different, though, being only about 25 people thus far so I don't really feel a registry is needed.
  20. True - it would be nice for people to have something official even just to show how much it means to us to have them there... it's funny, in the beginning I was all about having a simple destination wedding and cutting out these kinds of things... but even w/ a small wedding it's nice to have all the touches - plus I kind am enjoying all the different projects so I might as well... I think I'm going to go ahead and attempt DIY invites - hoping to replicate Shelley's beautiful starfish ones (wish me luck... lol). Thanks for your input!
  21. We are getting married in June in Mexico and have about 25 people confirmed to come to our DW. I've always figured that it will probably only be those really close to us (family and friends) who will make the trip so planned on just telling everyone close to us of our plans with word of mouth that everyone is welcome - the more the merrier, but I figure it will probably just be those 25 coming. My question is do I need to send out invitations to everyone? It seems redundant to send out invitations to the 25 people I've been in talks with (who have mostly already booked). For all the others should I send out an invitation so they know we have thought of them? I don't want to seem like I'm fishing for presents and don't want anybody to feel bad for not making it... which is why I originally thought word of mouth would be better... but perhaps some people won't really feel invited if we don't send out formal invites and perhaps those who have booked would appreciate them anyways. Perhaps e vites is the answer! lol... anyway, bring on the suggestions please!
  22. Sorry - hijack - but Carly your signature picture is so adorable... those are the cutest kids ever!
  23. Welcome to the forum, Virgina! Congratulations on your engagement and happy planning from another Ottawa bride to be!

Your mum will understand and it sounds like the hair pins have special meaning, too, so I would go with that.
