  1. Hello! It looks like we have a little bit in common. We are planning on an April 2009 wedding, hopefully in the Riviera Maya and we also live in Dallas. This board has been a great help and like many have mentioned, addicting!
  2. Hi guys, I just came across this link with many never-seen-before photos of many resorts. Enjoy! Island Getaways :: Resort Photo Tour
  3. I came across this thread and I thought it would be good for all the undecided girls--like me
  4. Hi there! I was just on her website the other day and if I remember correctly each photographer has their own blog. There you should be able to see photos that they have done. From what I have seen, it will be hard go wrong!
  5. Welcome and congratulations! This forum has been great. You will get a lot of ideas here!
  6. Congratulations and welcome to the board! We will be in the same area that weekend checking some places out. Knowing that I am going there soon has really calmed me down. It has been more stressful than I though trying to find a place!
  7. I have come across a great site that I want to share with everyone. StrayWeddings.com - The Ultimate Resource for Planning Destination Weddings in Mexico My favorite part is for each specific resort, there are links to reviews from TripAdvisor and links to wedding slide shows. It is just nice to have it all in one place. Not only does the site feature Cancun/Riviera Maya, but also PV, Cabo and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Enjoy!
  8. I just thought of something else, I wonder if I should contact Lomas now since it sounds like I will be working with them anyways. Then maybe when we go Karla will be able to talk about details with us.

How many people max? They said "ask Nancy." I was there, in person but still couldn't plan anything with them. Very frustrating. Soo, I went with another resort. But I can tell you I liked the hotels...just wouldn't get married there. That is very frustrating!!!! I'm sure it is for them too. It is a turn-off though to have to deal with 2nd and 3rd parties. I also have read the threads about their outside photographer policy. However I LOVE the look and the idea of the hotel. I love the size and photos that I have seen of weddings there. I do feel it is going to be expensive though. That is why Brad and I are going to go see for ourselves. It sounds like I'll need to do some hard-core correspondence with Nancy before we go!
  10. I sent an email to Azul Beach requesting wedding info and I received an email back from Nancy. It basically was links to the wedding info on the webpage. If she is in the states, then who is the coordinator at the resort? We are going on a site visit in April and would like a local contact. What is Lomas Travel role in planning a wedding at a Karisma Hotel? I have also came across LUXE weddings. If anyone who has planned a Karisma wedding would share their experiences with the process, I would be grateful.
  11. Thank you for all of your responses so far. I figured there would be a lot of across the board votes. I haven't emailed them yet. We are still trying to decide if it is the right venue for us. Personally I think 4 nights is just right for us.
  12. I found a place that we really like (Playa Fiesta) that requires a 5 night minimum stay. I was wondering on average how long are your guests staying.
  13. Congrats, You're married!! Did you end up fed-exing (sp?) your shells? Even with the set-backs, it still sounds great!
  14. Does anyone have any current information on guest limits for Playacar Palace? I like this resort do to its small size, but I have a feeling we may have more than 25 guests. Thanks for any info.

  16. Aw...Jean-Marcus, I was just about to get up the nerve to go for my first bikini wax. Very funny video!
  17. I am a labor and delivery RN too. Hi Sarah!
  18. Thanks for sharing, it looks like you had a perfect day. I especially like the Buckeye garter. I will have to show your pics to my DF. We both graduated from OSU. I am trying to talk him into Dreams. Congratulations!!!
  19. Gorgeous wedding! I love your colors. Congratulations!!!
  20. Does anyone have any details on the renovations? When are they beginning and what do the plan on doing? We are considering April/May 2009.
  21. Yay, I am so happy for you! I really like the look of SATP. We are still trying to decide on a location. I have a few questions if you don't mind. How many guests are you going to have? Did you make your reservation through a travel agent or the resort? Do you have any info that you could email me, like specific pricing, menus, options. I appreciate it, Jenny
  22. Congratulations! I'm new to this forum as well. There is a ton of information on both the Dominican and Riviera Maya. Some other places that have helped me as well are Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor and Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information. Both sites also have forums, but not as good as this one
  23. Congratulations! I'm new too. This site is very helpful and a little bit addicting
  24. I'm still looking at locations and SATP looks amazing. I also have found a lot of information on Tripadvisor's forums about the resort in general. Good luck!
  25. Morgan, Thank you for the link. I have read several threads regarding both resorts, but I missed the one comparing the 2. I do want to make a comment though regarding your post and I have seen this done in other threads as well. It is almost like you are chastising me for asking a question. Yes, I have searched and I read as much as I can get my hands on. However, there are threads several pages long and don't directly answer my specific questions. This message board is wonderful, but it has really irritated me seeing that done to other people as well.
