EdenH Real Arena Brides Post Here!

Joansie, Great slideshow! Kychick-That's the restaurant I'm having my reception. The food is ok. Not bad but compared to Senses, the french menu was much better and presentation too. I fell in love with Senses, its just to small for my 89 guests. -

Punta Cana - EdenH real Arena
jessyg20 replied to Rory's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Rory, hi! I'm a future Edenh Bride and I visited in August. I found the resort amazing. The food, staff, quality, and rooms. I think just some people are never happy. So I'm sure during my wedding some smart mouth will be complaining or find something to complain about, and you know what, I'm soooo past that. I'm there to have fun and enjoy OUR DAY! I read trip advisor reviews, and some people just like to complain. Punta Cana is such a laid back atmosphere that you really can't sweat the small stuff. I totally reccomend the resort to people who are going to enjoy there stay and won't expect perfection. There's just no such thing. I have to say, during my 4 day stay, I had a perfect time with my FI. And that's what counts. I know my guests won't be dissapointed. (and if they are, OH WELL! No need to strss the what if's!) Also if you want to read more about the Edenh check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t14906 Good luck! -

Hello girls, I took plenty of pics during my visit at the Edenh. I started my reivew and realized, it's way too long. So instead, I'm going to highlight some important things here. Sorry some pics are too big! If you want to get married in the beach, this is what your ceremony will look like (more or less): Here is the Garden: I decided to change my ceremony to this spot, the Plaza: Receptions If you want you reception in the ballroom, this is what it looks like. BTW, the ballroom can't used on a saturday night during the hours of 945p-11p because they have a show (Pikante) going on: MY 3 favorite locations to have a reception are: Cinque Terre Senses Alizos Bar The after party Tantra Bar (open from 945p-3a) It can't be used past 945p for a private event since it's open to the resort guests. Just alittle overview regarding having your wedding at the Edenh. If you have questions email me at [email protected]. -

ok...quick...I spoke to the onsite wedding coordinator, elizabeth. Shes a pleasure to work with. Very detailed. She has been here only 15 days. I did ask her what was up with the changing of the girls, she said she is giving me her word she will be around atleast for my wedding. lol She really has no plans on leaving. Speaking of change, I changed my plans, Im going to get married in the Plaza, its the pics youve seen with the huge brown balls (lol) and its all tiled with palm trees... around and fountains, and then have my reception in the Italian restaurant since they cant give me a ballroom due to scheduled shows. I was a bit worried but when i walked into the restaurant, and saw Mocha and Teal decor, I was in love...again. Actually Im excited since it will be a private even. Which when they mean private, its private. Security guard and signs. I have much more to tell but Its time to have some drinks, play in the casino then maybe be sober enough to dance like fools til 3am at the Tantra Bar. My opinion still remains the same, this place is great. It gets better by the day. Thanks girls. Ill keep you posted if anything else exciting to report about happens. -

Hi ladies...future edenh brides..I´m at the edenh as we speak. We got here yesterday. We are in love with the hotel. Its beautiful and the staff has been sooooooooooooo great. Today Im meeting with the wedding cordinator Elizabeth. Ill post more details about that later. Yesterday they had a small beach wedding and it was cute. I started crying thinking THATs going to be me in 2 months. WOW The wedding was for 30 people and they had their reception in one of the restaurants, it had a sign private event. i have 89 people confirmed and I cant imagine having that many people in one of the restaurants, so we are doing a private reception. FYI, every Friday night they have a beach party. OMG...it was great. Im going to have a rehearsal dinner for my actual wedding party but after, Im going to meet everyone at the beach party. Buffet style setup, bbq, and even a pig. They have music, activities for the kids. ITs perfect. It rained for like 10mins, the music stopped, everyone went under cover, then when it cleared, you hear the music play and everyone comes back out like nothing happened. This place is amazing. We over did it with the drinks last night and ended up at the club, The Tantra Bar, great music btw, we danced like fools and crawled back to our room by 11p. We woke up at 6am alittle hungover and went straight to the buffet. Great food. One thing, I do recommend everyone upgrade to the Paradise Club wristbands. We did, for 40 bucks a night per person. We get access to the private pools and premium drinks with them. (As a courtesy they upgraded our room too, which should of been 90 bucks more per person per night) Free internet for those with the pink wristbands, so here I am writing to you all how excited I am about the Edenh. Im so glad I came out here. This isnt even a full review. Wait til I get back! lol Im taking TONS of pics so as soon as I get back, Ill post them. For now, all those pics on webshots, do this place no justice. Did i tell you all Im soooooooo excited? I am and you should be too.... -

I went to the place where I bought mine and found one that I love. They can't let me bring it back for store credit cause I had it made shorter than usual so I could walk barefoot, but they are going to let me have it for cheaper than they are asking...it was only $299 any way but said I could have it for $199. I guess I will try to sell my dress on the forum or on eBay. The dress fits perfect and I can get the one in the store, so the only alteration will be to hem it cause it is too long even with heels. I can't believe I'm getting a new dress a month & 1/2 before the wedding!!! Omg, i thought I was the only one! You got a much better deal though. I found NEW dress 2 weeks ago but they didn't have my size. Now I have to wait until the first week of October to get my dress and have it made shorter. They said it'll be ready by October 10. Yeah, I'm freaking out! That's cutting it close. I'll be selling my original dress on ebay too.

Those are really, uh, bad! I know most girls don't agree, but I still think you shouldn't send them. I know we are all adults but we are the worst when it comes to being critics. If that happened to me, I know I wouldn't send them out. Yeah, a shower is about the bridal partying throwing it for you but it has your name on it! You've done such a great job wit the STD's that the would shock people to receive something like that. I would hate hurting her feelings, so I would lie but I know I couldn't live with myself if those invites went out to my guests in my honor!! I hope you make the descion that makes YOU happy and that YOU can live with. Good luck!

What have I learned from planning a destination wedding?
jessyg20 replied to shellb's topic in Random Thoughts
I've learned that people are procrastinators. Everyone jumps on the band wagon at the last minute. Your list may be at 30 six months from your wedding date and it can jump to 104 in a matter of 2 weeks after your deadline and 2 months before the actual wedding date. Procrastinators suck! Don't buy wedding favors too early. 3 months ago I found great candles at michaels, 30 of them, and now I need 104. And Guess what? Now they are discontinued. Destination weddings are another excuse for a family reunion. No, not in a good way! Especially when you have family members you haven't seen in years calling up and inviting every other family memeber to come to your wedding. From 2 somewhat distant cousins to 28 who-they-hell-is-that-distant cousins! Did I mention I learned procrastinators and Family reunions at your cost suck!!!! -
Can you tell her your bridal party already made some and sent some out... And you appreciate her efforts but you don't want 2 different kinds of invites going out? I would hate to lie, but I agree, I think people might think you either created them or ok'd them. That's a sad reflection on you if they really are horrendous! Besides I'm not big on hurting peoples feelings so, a little lie to avoid a big war won't kill anyone.

Welcome to the forum! I used Save The Date Magnets, Wedding Invitations, Wedding Announcements, Postcards for Weddings, Magnetic Favors for my Magnet Save the Dates. They were awesome. And for invites, I used Elegant Creations, they are local (in Miami). They have tons of options: Wedding Invitations, announcement and Accessories -by Elegant Creations If you have any questions about Miami, email me at [email protected]. I was born and raised in Miami. I've been here for over *cough cough almost 30 years! Welcome again!

Still working on the beach location set up, but I think I have it figured out. Getting my dress fitted Sept 8th. Got the foot jewelry done for BM. I'll take a pic today when I see them. My Fi wants a watch also. Found a dive watch that is really nice at the mall. still need to go get that. Hmmmm....Whats next? OMG! Totally freaking! I thought I was done. I was cruising with my 30 favors, my fans, my candles (now discontinued), and cd's...and then...this! My FI family is Dominican. They have ALL decided to call each other up and make our wedding a HUGE family reunion!! Did I say 82? It's now 84! Sorry to vent. Anyway, time to do some more shopping, of everything. I need a new list. I'm trying to think of a cute slogan for the ecofetti. I'm working on it. Thanks!

Gosh, it is pretty nice being caught up on things. Yari, thanks! I just bought some myself. Something to take off my list. I thought I was caught up like you. Instead, I went from 30 to 50 guests and yesterday it grew to 80, of course on the last-last day to RSVP (according to my invites RSVP by 8/1, this was RSVP part 2 by 8/15 for the straglers). I'm going crazy. Anyway, I bought bubbles before and I found a cute way of telling people when to use them, so I created this tag to put either on each of them or to have on the table with this as a sign. Just wanted to share.
