  1. god works in mysterious ways and sometimes it pays to procrastinate : ) I'm glad everything is falling into place for ya'll On a side note, I noticed that you changed your avatar photo, you look like you have a lost some lbs!!! What have you been doing? Is it something I can replicate in the next 2 weeks?

  3. So I was given very strict instructions that I would be in a world of trouble if i jumped into the ocean in a dress that i didn't pay for so..... I got a 2nd dress! What a wonderful excuse to go shopping. I wanted a cream dress to look similar to my real dress but I couldn't find one that fit and I didn't want to pay for alterations, again, so I decided to go for something different: This was only $100 so I'm thinking I might just throw it away afterwards, one less thing to bring back. FI was so excited he actually got to see me in something. I have kept my real dress hidden from him since last August.
  4. I finally found some that i like at Old Navy! They were $20 each, then I paid $8 each to get them embroidered. Here is mine and one of my BMs: Mine says Future Mrs. Johnson, and when I get back she is going to put an X thru "future" I'm giving them to the girls before we leave so they don't go buy one, and its one less thing i have to pack!
  5. I think 75 yards is way more than enough, 75 feet is probably way more than enough. Ask BrittanyD for the dimensions. I was reading a thread somewhere between her and Heidi or Lizz(maybe) about the dimensions of the aisle and how many rose petals to buy.

Well since my ceremony is at 11am, we are going to do 1st dance, bouquet toss and garter toss at the beach gazebo right after the ceremony. Well actually we will do group pics, then do all that stuff, then have lunch reception at Mammee Bay. Since we are paying for them by the hour i want to fully enjoy the hour!!

Wouldn't that be just great for my cheap-o-la matches to bring the plane down! I bet most resorts have match books at the bars anyway
  8. Steel drum band playing Canon in D, i can't wait. And not that you asked this, but we are also having our first dance on the beach so that we can dance to the steel drum band.

I don't know why I still think it's 2007 Everytime I read your posts I think, "Wow this chick is really on top things, she's got a whole year and she already has this stuff planned out" Then I read 45 days... I'm a crackhead, I know...
  10. Don't know how i missed this, but thanks for posting! I have been on the fence about getting a video

For those of you using Michael's services, can any of you give me an idea of his costs? Thanks! When I was looking at using Micheal it was going to be about $900 for 3hours and 100 prints.

Those 2 guys in the car crack me up
  13. I think your dress is amazing the way it is! I would be worried about how the alterations would turn out b/c the it looks like the corset part goes really low in the back. Have you spoken to a seamstress yet about how they would make it open back?
  14. Welcome! Just out of curiosity, how is it that you know when you are getting engaged? That must make the wait easier!!!

  18. here is mine, these are the bouquets i have been trying to decide between
  19. This might be the funniest thread i've seen on BDW yet! FI and I are both from GA and addicted to sweet tea. We decide if we like resturants based on how sweet their tea is. If it's really good then we say Aunt Mae Mae must be in the kitchen
  20. So here's what I don't understand- why were Lauren and Brody acting like she was leaving for the entire summer when she was only in Paris for 1 week?? Who gets replaced in just 1 week And who wears that much makeup to go skiing?
  21. Hey I don't know if you already make jewelry or not, but I found it was easier to make mine using wire wrapping instead of stringing beads so that I can change the style and length easily. This took longer to do, but I really like the way they turned out, and after the wedding I can take the part that goes down the top of the foot off and my BMs will have a cute anklet. I love making jewelry, so if you need any help just PM me!

I was really ticked at first then just decided it wasn't a battle worth fighting b/c it would be an issue every year for our anniversary. Men and their games....
  23. I'm with ya on not giving people things they already have! Here is what I'm including: Welcome letter and timeline of events Beach Tote- I'm telling people that I'm giving these so they don't have to pack them, and they were cheap enough that I won't be offended if they throw them away at the end of the weekend. Travel Candle and matches- in case room is musty Chrome Luggage Tag Big cup with their initial Tropical Flavored chapstick for women Disposable nail files for women (i just got these cuz they are cute) Homemade soap- b/c i hate hotel soap Small photo album for their vacation photos Deck of cards Rubix cube photo scavenger hunt list Gum Tissues
  24. Also, just a tip for navigating the site- anytime to post a reply to a thread you will become "subscribed" to it. If you click on the link at the top left that says User CP you can see all the threads that you have subscribed to. I didn't figure that out until like a month after I joined! I'm sure it's in the instructions somewhere, but I never read instructions
  25. Don't worry too much, you have plenty of time! I didn't start planning any of the resort related things until January when I found this site and realized how much I hadn't thought about, now I'm 2 1/2 weeks away and pretty much everything is handled.
