Irish Blessings
Taradactyle replied to KellyandMatt08's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
This is the one that we will be using: May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. May God be with you and bless you; May you see your children’s children. May you be poor if misfortune, Rich in blessings, May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward. May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the warm rays of sun fall upon your harm And may the hand of a friend always be near. May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the skies above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hearts that love you. -
How many nights are your guests staying?
Taradactyle replied to JHarwood2Be's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I think most of our guests will stay 3 nights. -
Oh wow, that really sucks! Sorry that happened to you.

My table number idea
Taradactyle replied to Leia78's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Aw, cute dog and idea! We're sad too that our dog can't be in the wedding. We tried really hard, but at least our dog will be in the engagement photos. -
I'm making mine out of folded cardstock. I'm using an idea I saw on Martha Stewart's website. Here are pictures of mine so far (with my raffia fans using Courtney's idea ~thanks again Courtney!!). I'm still waiting for my "for your tears of joy" stamp to arrive. I got the stamp off of e-bay for about $3. I'm just not sure how to display these tissue packets though. I may either put them on each seat with a fan, or maybe put them in a basket by the entrance. Just worried that no one will see them. I know this sounds neurotic, but I don't want to put one on each seat because my FI says that the guys won't use it and I don't want them to go to waste. Any ideas would be really appreciated! =)

Wedding Cordinator At Dreams
Taradactyle replied to sweet raisins's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Yarai is my coordinator. She is very good and responds promptly to emails. We met her in person during our site visit about a month ago. She was very nice and has been patiently answering my bajillion questions. -

Some of them have hot glue strings on them, but they can be easily picked off. Hope you like yours too!

Baja Weddings Coordination fee = expensive
Taradactyle replied to Minx1969's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Minx1969, I got a quote from Baja Weddings for a coordination fee of $2,500 for about 40 people. -

The UPS guy just came by about 20 minutes ago. I think they look pretty good... they look much better than a lot of fake orchids I've seen before. Granted they are not real. But I don't see any wire on the backside of the petals... Do yours have wire showing??!

I don't think they will be... I would love it because I can take it home with me, attach a pin to it, and add it to my beach bag as an accent.

I want to make the bride and groom chairs look special for the reception. Here are some inspiration ideas I found (thanks everyone who posted these pictures!). My flowers are orchids and lilys so I was thinking of making swags or bouquets myself (or at least attempting to!) and tying them to the chair using ribbon in our colors.

Ooh super cute!! My flowers are supposed to arrive tomorrow - can't wait! They look great!

Hi Leia, You can also check Silk Orchid Flowers They sell orchids heads only, which can be used for name cards. I ordered their orchid stems because it actually came out cheaper than buying individual heads (I will just cut the orchids off). I am attaching some of them to the rafia fans. I plan on doing the starfish name cards too but since starfish also aren't in my theme, I was going to tie in the orchids by putting some around the box holding my starfish. I plan on making a box that looks similar to this one (I can't remember where I found this so unfortunately I can't give credit!). I will just "borrow" sand from the beach and then put orchids and starfish in there.

Got my raffia fans

The purple ones are silk and are from Hobby Lobby. Both were 50% off so they were about $2.50 per stem. Wow!! Those look great! It's waayyy better than what I had in mind. I hope you don't mind me stealing the idea either! -
I ordered my raffia fans from Wholesale Wedding Supplies, Discount Wedding Favors, Party Favors, and Bulk Event Supplies They were 50 cents each... Shipping and tax came out to about an additional $10(I ordered 4 dozen). They arrived via Fed Ex within a few days. Quality-wise, there are probably better ones out there, but for 50 cents I'm not complaining! I am thinking about tying a fake orchid with satin ribbon to each one, or attaching our wedding programs to the handle using ribbon.

Parasols for your guests during ceremony
Taradactyle replied to Leia78's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I was going to put them into a basket with a big colorful sign or tags on each one and place the basket right next to the programs. If you have ushers, maybe you can have them offer one to each woman? Here are some ideas I liked: -
