  1. Thanks so much Christine! great info, appreciate the link. check's on may 16th for me, most prob for wedding expenses!
  2. Hi there ladies!! I havent decided which resort to book yet. Originally I was going to go with Riu Ocho Rios, but it's such a big resort, might be lots of kids and the trip from the airport is longer also. Group will be around 10 to 15 adults, with no kids. I got some info my from travel agent and she suggested Negril. So, any thoughts on Negril resorts? Couples vs Riu is where I'm at right now. And with Couples: Negril vs. Swept Away? Will be going in November probably 2nd thru 9th. Thanks so much, sorry for all the questions and the long post! happy easter btw...
  3. This is such a fun and neat idea. I just ordered my starfish....yay! I am new to the forum so am not familiar with the previous starfish stuff, but this is really cool. I ordered the turquoise colored starfish since that's going to be my color theme. The free shipping is what got me too, very nifty as well. Thanks mods!
  4. Awwww....your pictures were wonderful, thanks so much for sharing them. We hope to be there in November 08. The water/beach are SO beautiful, gotta love Jamaica!
  5. Hey there. Guilty as well here. So, I have been trying to be better and actually go to the gym on a more regular basis. One of the hardest parts of working out most times is actually getting up and physically going to the gym to start with (for me anyway it is) Also, instead of just doing the same cardio machines (ellipticals, bike, etc), I'm trying different exercise classes to mix it up a bit. I've heard this is good to kind of shock your body into losing.. Wish me luck, doing yogalates tomorrow night. So, tonight back from my body pump class sitting on the couch watching biggest loser with my man. I've been complaining about how tired I've been and he's been telling me that I'm up too late on the computer, to put it away earlier and get to bed. Well I'm on this forum all the time, wedding type of surfing, looking at dresses, favors, etc. So...what was hilarious tonight is that while watching biggest loser with him, one of the trainers mentioned how it's so important to get enough sleep to lose weight, that she can tell when her team hasnt gotten their rest. He just looked over at me with this look, and I cracked up, since I was just complaining how tired I was from being up late on the computer and that I only lost one pound last week....was priceless. And..it's 12 am and here I am..... Sorry post is so long! Hang in there ladies...we can do it!!
  6. I tried this class at my gym last week. Was lots of fun. And, like Melba said, was pouring with sweat, but it wasn't hard to do tho. So, you dont notice you're sweating like crazy till the end. I would take the zumba class again. It was basically a lot of dancing with a kind of mexican/latin flair and music. Try it!
  7. Thanks Sarah! You know seeing all that stuff on there for so cheap really makes me realize how much we get screwed when we buy those lil convenience store type pkgs of things like tylenol or pepto or stuff like that when we need it. Geez!
  8. Thanks a lot for the info. I am amazed at all the info I get on here, it's just so wonderful! As far as ordering from this site, do you know if just ANYone can place an order or is it for only businesses? It did say $50 minimum order on the website, but I saw lots of stuff on there that I could prob use besides the OOT bags. Anyhoo....thanks again.
  9. Paper soap..what a great idea! Cute thought for the OOT bags as well.
  10. Dated 6 yrs, first date was feb 20, 2002!! argggghhh. Anyhow, will be close to 7 yrs for us when we FINALLY get married this fall. Man, that's crazy to see in type like that...that's a freaking long time. lol
  11. OMG those are adorable, love them. You ladies on this forum are so freakin' creative! Gives me such great ideas that I know could not come up with on my own. Love the shell shapes and the 3 parts held with the ribbon. So cute!
  12. OMG!! I just saw this, I can't take it, almost peed my pants laughing so hard!! Oh man, that was great. thanks for sharing, made my day!! heeheeheehee
  13. Holy cow! what the heck? That was just SO unprofessional, what a way to run a business, huh? Just reading this now, so by this point your AHR has already taken place. So...how did everything turn out for you? Hopefully things went great and the flowers worked out. I'm in St Louis area also, will make note of that place...of who not to call for flowers! Again, now that your AHR is done with, you can relax and fully enjoy your new married life. Yay!!
  14. Wow, thanks so much for sharing your slideshow! It was SO beautiful, I loved loved loved that music from David Gray. Was so beautiful with your wedding pics. Almost made me cry (I am such a dork I know)so pretty with the pictures, was a perfect song to go with it. I am trying to decide which resort to pick in Jamaica. I just changed locations from Riviera Maya, Mexico and now am looking at Jamaica and so excited. Thanks again for sharing those pics!
  15. I have looked into this also. I am considering Barcelo Maya Tropical/Colonial resort as they have a chapel onsite that they do Sunday mass and weddings there. As far as the Catholic Church is concerned, they don't recognize a marriage if it's not in a church/chapel. Anything on the beach or outdoors or anywhere else is not "legal" as a sacrament of marriage in their eyes. So...the way to have your cake and eat it too, so to speak, is to find a resort with a church/chapel onsite like the some of the other BDW girls have suggested. They have Catholic wedding packages available at these resorts and they arrange for the priest to come to the resort to perform the weddings. It's kind of up to his schedule from what I gathered as to when it's done. Also, you still have to do the pre-cana classes through your church and have all that paperwork down there at least 2 months prior to your wedding. Oops..sorry so long but I've been doing some research on this very subject myself. Unfortunately, I am probably going to have the "illegal" non-church wedding in Mexico anyway because my FI is divorced and the annulment we are working on wont be done by then in time. fun, fun. So, what our priest here at home suggested was to go ahead with the wedding in Mexico, the "illegal' one..lol, and have a validation/blessing ceremony back home when the paperwork for the annulment is done and it's granted. So, that's our plan for the moment.. Hope all this helps you, and good luck to ya!!
  16. WOW....Your STD's are beautiful! So creative, I love the grommets too (what a great idea to keep everything together!). They look professional, would have never guessed they were DIY. Since I most likely will be DIY as well, gives me some great ideas. Thanks so much for sharing them! Your guests will love them for sure.
  17. OMG... Hilarious!! That was great, thanks so much for posting that ad! rofl:
  18. Hi there Melissa. I noticed you had your wedding at Barcelo. I am really considering this, the new Palace looks beautiful. The reviews are mixed since it just opened in dec 07, but guess that's to be expected. Anyway, how was your experience there? How was their wedding packages/facilities in your opinion? I wasn't able to get much info about what they offer, so thought I would check with someone who actually was married there already. Thanks so much and sorry about all the questions... teri
