Great to hear you liked your couples negril stay! Since we didn't do a site visit, you just never know, so great to hear from someone on BDW who's been there. Can't wait, been on the Couples website a bunch. Have you decided where in Negril you are having your DW yet? (Apologize if you posted it somewhere & I missed it! lol) -

Thanks a lot Myda, appreciate your input. I don't know/heard from anyone that has actually gone here, so glad to hear you'd recommend it. Sounds like type of place we would really like. Thanks so much! -
You poor thing, this really sucks for you! I think what you did, just cutting her loose, tellin her just forget it, was the best thing you could have done. All her drama is stressing you out and it's not good for you. Because, believe it or not sucky MOH this is YOUR(Hartys) wedding not hers. So selfish, unbelievable! You are way better off w/o her. Asking you to re-arrange your wedding dates to accomodate their schedules...seriously BTW, I had a somewhat similar situation, although not as bad for sure. When I was calling friends that said they would be there when we got married and that it was in November, one of our guy friends had the nerve to say "well just to let you know I am off the week of Thanksgiving, so that week would work for me" Uh, yeah, he said it, he wanted us to arrange our wedding plans around when HE was off work. People...UGGHH!

GREAT thread, whoever started this, we need this for sure. Okay, well I feel like a big jerk but I'm really starting to dislike my FFIL & FMIL. They used to be the sweetest ppl, sometimes I even thought they liked me more than their own son, he even said so, crazy I know. So, first off...they are not going to our DW. I know that I shouldn't be disappointed if some ppl can't make it, I understand due to $ constraints. However, this is SO not the case with them. The reason FFIL gave to my FI is that he's had previous health problems (back surgeries and something else to do with his retina) and that if something happened to him healthwise he "doesn't want to be stuck in a third-world country like Jamaica and get bad medical care" and potentially die there I guess. Therefore, they are not going AT ALL due to a slim possibility that something might happen. Well, hell if we all had that frame of mind, would we ever go anywhere for christs sakes?? So, okay, fine. Then, his mom. Little background, FI prev married, we are in the process of an annulment because I am Catholic & want a Catholic blessing ceremony back home in conjunction with our AHR. The annulment process takes up to a year btw, and we started a few months ago not knowing takes a freaking year, due to tons of paperwork that's required. He is talking to her, giving her heads up about potential paperwork coming to their home regarding this, not even thinking that she wouldn't participate in this since it's important& she hated his exwife. So, her reaction to this is "well what are you doing, converting to Catholicism?" (they are Presbyterian) his answer, "No, that's not necessary" and she follows this up with "well, i don't really agree with everything the Catholic church does anyway!" And that was it, she's not going to do it. I'm Catholic, not satanic! I'm still Christian! WTF? So, now she/they won't be helping us/participating here either.... Thanks for your support there, do you freaking hate me FMIL, what did I do to you?? Whew....thanks kids, I feel so much better. Sorry so long, needed to vent!!!!

Excursions for Guests- Negril
stltk replied to Juniorbaby01's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I'm not really planning a group excursion as ours is going to be pretty small, prob 7-10 ppl including us. We might do a trip to Ricks, but I think the ppl in my group will kind of just play it by ear, since we don't have a huge group. The waterfall excursions look neat, but are pretty much an entire day with the trip there/back from what I have seen online. So, some ppl might not go for an entire day used up. I personally would like to go to YS Falls or Mayfield Falls, so FI & I might. We did the Dunn's River falls last time we were in Jamaica. It was beautiful, unique and something you do once in a lifetime I think. However, it was kind of hard physically in some parts IMHO, so did it once, but wont do again type of thing. Just my 2 cents..... -
Congratulations Heather! I'm a Negril, Jamaica bride also @ Couples Negril 11-06-08. Such a great feeling not to mention a huge weight off your shoulders finally booking your location huh? Made it feel so much more real for me when we finally chose and booked our trip for our wedding. So excited, Negril looks amazing doesn't it?

Holy cow....WTF? I have wondered the same thing, her poor body! How can her uterus keep up & her bladder control has got to compromised for goodness sake! But, I watch this crazy show too, it's like a trainwreck....you just can't look away, I can't help it. Those wacky Duggars!! LOL

Awww, Tammie what a cutie!! When I first saw that pic, I thought that puppy is not going to be fostered for long, she's gonna get snapped up quick for sure. So cute, and so much work too, this is true! Thanks for your work with these guys, I wish I could foster but I still have my 2 fosters that I got as bottle-fed kittens..uh, they are going to be 12 yrs old in July. LOL, so hard to part with them, you are a great person for all your hard work and dedication!

Awww....what a great story. Yep, tears welling up a bit here too. I believe it this story though, I may be gullible, but oh well. Reminds me of a story from the book "Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul" that I have read. Animals are very intuitive and they sense things even when we don't. Mine are my babies and they know when I'm upset too. Thanks for sharing that story with us!

OMG! Good lord, after reading all the testimonials and info on the site, how can you not just order it immediately? I mean really, there is some crazy sh**(hehe, couldn't resist...sorry) on there for sure. I mean worms and mucoid tubes and jellyfish-like blobs...holy cow. I have heard of ppl doing cleanses, but never in so much detail as this product's website. WOW! I'm not 100% sure if I'll do it or not, but certainly will consider it. Thanks for the info though, very informative Maura! I hope it helps you if you do it, and please let us know if it helps, ok? -

Wedding Dress Prices?
stltk replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks PenMarie, you are too sweet! Nope, it's not strapless & originally I thought I would go that route. But, it's probablya good thing anyway since I am kinda big on top and would be "babysitting" the top of my dress all day making sure it was pulled up & stuff. So, my dress has straps, just worked out that way. -
I like that set too! So pretty, esp with the ivory dress color. I agree with only wearing 2 pieces also, all 3 might be too much? BTW, I LOVE your dress! When I saw it online I really thought (before I tried it on) that it was THE dress. However...on my body, uh uh. In reality, it just wasn't for me unfortunately. I really loved the beading & sparkles with the lace overlay....beautiful. So, the ivory pearls will look so pretty with it, good choice!

I heard this really great song on a local college radio station here. I'ts by Ray Lamontagne called "Forever My Friend" It's a great song, and I'd love to use it somewhere in my wedding music, but it might be a bit too fast for a first dance type of thing. Has anyone heard this one or familiar with this artist? I found him again on you tube. I think I'll buy the CD anyway though, just to have. I agree with the Sarah McLachlan song "I Love You" it's in the running for me too. Her and U2 are my two alltime favorites, I'd love to find a U2 one also tho.

stltk replied to mpetzold's topic in General Wedding Planning Information

Wedding Dress Prices?
stltk replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Okay, I originally figured I'd be spending around $800-$1000 for my dress. I ended up getting my dress last Friday at a small local bridal shop. I bought a store sample off their "clearance" rack. But... it was a $750 dress that I got for $99.00!! OMG I just couldn't believe it, was such a great deal that I just couldn't pass it up. It was even the right size, will need a few alterations for the bust since I'm all 'smushed' in,and the waist needs to be taken up a bit because I have a short waist, but other than that...it works! Guess it was meant to be. My dress is a Mori Lee style #2812, was from their Spring 2007 collection, so that's why it was on sale. It's not very 'beachy' looking like I thought I wanted, but it's not super heavy either. It's a tadbit "poufy", but not too much. If I could figure out how to get the pic on here from the website I would but I must be a computer idiot about this because I've tried a ton of times with no luck. So, when I get a better pic of myself in it I will. -
Awww, they are cute. And...that dress!! So pretty, I love it. And, hey, who's the designer/where did she get it? Now why couldn't they have included THAT info for us in that article? Missing some important info, we need to know!!! I agree with previous post, she would have loved this forum, huh? We could have provided her a lot of help and info for her DW! Some budget they had too...yikes is right. But hey, somebody's gotta do it!
