it sounds like FMIL is not going to let up. I noticed that you arent getting married for another year and a half or so. I also read that you've only been engaged for 2 months. It just seem so early to be planning and stressed about your wedding. My opinion is to let your FMIL throw you a party, show up at least to meet these people. For some reason my parents are like your FMIL - their friends are important to them. They just probably want to show you off and they are extremely proud that their son is getting married. But you shouldn't have to pay a dime for it. I know you really dont want to but would it hurt at all? If so then stand your ground.

I think alot of girls are hand delivering or giving their "oot" bags before the trip... does that constitute as a get ready bag? Im doing both. I am sending these cute little travel bags to take on the plane a few weeks before the wedding. Its stuff like socks, toothbrush, night masks, plastic bag for their liquids, dramamine, advil, etc. My guest will be doing some serious traveling to get to Fiji...

I like it! I am going to personalize mine with the hand ceremony. I will have FI's father read me verse... as I hold FI's hand and I will have either someone from my side (if anyone shows up ) or his stepmom read him the verse as he holds my hand. Since its going to be super small. I wanted everyone to be apart of the ceremony.

Wow Girls! I didnt know that it was so hard to get legally married in Mexico. I figured that since this forum is filled with so many Mexico Brides that it was the easiest. Before we decided to get married, I pretty much had it in my mind that i wanted a DW and purposely looked for a legal place. It honestly would have been better had we chose to get married in the UK during the summer - we would have had more guests and we could have traveled Europe afterwards but its was so difficult as well. So I chose Fiji. I just dont want to have to deal with anything more. I think that if I was getting married in Mexico, I would have to either go to the JP right before the wedding or right afterwards. I dont know.

I used the Boarding Pass for my Invites! They are so much more fun! I think the regular ole invitations would be easier for people to trash than the cute creative and fun boarding pass!!!
