I hope im not too late in this discussion. My family is huge and when someone gets married (at home in a catholic church) everyone gets together and help out in someway. Largely they help out with the reception. When my aunt got married, after the wedding everyone went to the church's hall and ate and danced. The food was catered by the family and served buffet style (it was yummy of course because it was "Family" cooking). There was a cake cutting, people danced and everyone went home. Since your family and FI family was influential in your decision to cancel the DW, I would certainly hope that they would be willing to throw the reception for you in lieu of showers, brunches, and other stuff. What do you think?

Sarah, Young people can be stupid! Im sure we have all be there in different way. I think the one thing that we can really hope for is that your sister will be truly happy and this husband of hers wont end up as much of a loser as he has proven himself to be thus far. I work on a military base and I see LOTS of marriages that just dont make it. I hope everything works out for your sister. Its just sad that shes going to miss one of the best times in her life committed in marriage at such an early age! Heck, Im almost 30 and I sometimes wonder if Im too young!

LMAO!!!! Wow! I snoop to when Im bored. I havent been bored but if its the summer and Im home alone doing nothing I get tempted by phones and emails... its so bad. Weve broke up because of it one time but I never tell him that I wont do it again because Im a sucker for snooping when Im bored. If I would have found that text, I would have been so thrilled. So no worries... just act surprised.

I bought a backless bra/bustier that wasnt low enough. My seamstress altered the bra - NO KIDDING. SHES AMAZING. Im a D and looks like I will have to add a halter strap for added support. She initially wanted to sew in a bra pad and attach the bustier to my dress....but I think she was getting a bit carried away!

You two need to sit on this for a few days and think about it. Did you decide to uninvite your friends because of an issue with just one of them? If so reconsider your other friends. If you still want just family, go ahead and send out a letter ASAP or start calling everyone. Its obviously not uncommon since Lauren got a letter that sorta uninvited them. If I got one and knew I could get my money back I wouldnt care. In fact I would just take the opportunity to go somewhere that I really wanted to go whether its to the wedding destination or elsewhere. But if I culdnt I would be pretty pissed off.

LOL I was rushed into thinking that I had to buy one in the states while I was there for just 10 days. So I up and got one... then I got here and realized that I didnt really like it.... especially seeing every on on BDW wearing more formal gowns... so I bought another one. Now I actually would perfer wearing the first because the second is undergoing a whole transformation and being changed.... I think the first will be my ttd dress or something.... Im still not sure.

Im glad it turned out all right, Now you know that if you two becomes friends then him and her will probably end up friends. Maybe you will become comfortable when they are together.

I would talk to your friend for sure and tell her that you are tight for money. Ask her if you could do your own hair and makeup this time.

Sun Bride I read your review. You said that she did AMAZING photos and she takes her job very seriously. Thats great! But it is also important to know the personality of the photographer especially if hes gonna be following you around all day and interacting with your guest. Honestly, if I was getting married in your location I would consider her, even though negative or bland personalities annoy me. I would let her actual WORK make the final decisions. There was nothing you wrote about her that would ruin her reputation. I appreciated learning about my photographer's personality who will be at my really tiny wedding on the only resort on a little tiny island in Fiji. A bride who used him gave me her honest opinion about him. That was a good thing. So your photographer is going to have to put her big girl panties on and deal with it. Shes in the business of SERVICE and people in that job get critiqued not by bosses or test scores but by customers that they service.If anything she should take all reviews done about her to perfect her business.
