  1. I haven't seen any pics, sorry. But I just wanted to say that it could be a neat idea. I've seen some pics of reception sites done with them and it looked really cool. One thing to consider though, is that they might not look as good during the day when they are not lit. I'd love to see a pic too, I'll keep a lookout for one.

I take my ring off at night because my fingers swell like crazy at night.
  3. You looked great and your photos are fantastic!! The flowers looked so good, Angel did a great job!
  4. Welcome to the forum!
  5. I love that style. It's very pretty, especially the detailed back! As far as the train, I would say whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Do you plan on keeping it on for a long time, if so a cathedral might be too long. I'm sure it would look fantastic during the ceremony though.
  6. Wow, that's really cool that they're flying in!! Sounds like it will be a great time!
  7. I downloaded this a few days ago. I was so excited to see my resort listed as #1 all-inclusive! Now I can't wait to go!!
  8. Sorry that you are going through all of this. I just wanted to tell you that a "W" usually will not hurt you. Most people will not look at your transcript, but if they do, its likely the "W" will never get questioned. The only thing that you might want to check before you do drop the class though, is financial aid. That is if you get any. Sometimes if you drop any classes while receiving financial aid it can effect your fin. aid eligibility. Good Luck, I hope things get better for you.
  9. Have a great time!!! Can't wait to see the pics!

What Do You Ladies Think? I've read that any mention of gifts on an invitation is against etiquette and it implies that you are expecting a gift. I think it's just best to let that information be passed on through word of mouth.
  11. I love your dress!! I might be bias though because my dress is silk taffeta too and is form fitting like yours! I think i might have the extra "poof" removed from the bottom of mine as long as it doesn't mess up the general shape of the dress. I think it's worth it to have the dress of your dreams!

(So she says) :-) Obviously, it was a lot scarier for me and my sisters, but God truly does work miracles. So keep praying!!

See what you are getting for what you are paying and like the other ladies are saying, try to negotiate ... You are right about having the dinner at one of their restaurants. I went to a wedding at a resort in Dominican Republic and they picked that option. As a guest, it did not feel like a wedding reception at all (more like a dinner at a restaurant - that's what is was anyway) -- then we went to the club of the resort to party - which again did not feel like a reception since other resort patrons were at the club. I understand that it depends on people's budget and we did have lots of fun ... but if you have the budget, I definitely suggest a private reception Good luck .. whatever you do, I am sure eveything will be worth it !! Yes, that does include full open bar and a 5 course meal (lobster, steak choices on the menu) and it also includes the cocktail and hor' doerve hour. I was mainly concerned about the extra almost $900 in fees for the 3 butlers and chef that seemed overly high. Thanks for the reassurance. I keep trying to tell myself it's worth it too! LOL.
  15. I kind of felt the way you did about invites. I felt it was redundant and a waste of money. My FI really wanted them though, so we had some made and let me tell you. I am SO glad that I did. They are beautiful and really make the process fell real and special. Plus, I know our family members that can't make for health or financial reasons will feel special still that they are included in one way or another. So my vote is for invites!!

    Hi!

Welcome to the forum! You will love it around here!
  17. I thought about this too, but I'm worried about the length of time the rental would be for. I'll be gone for 8 days. So I could see that adding up. Let us know what you find out.
  18. I just wanted to say that I will keep you mom in my prayers. I know just how hard this must be for you. My mom had to have brain surgery 2 years ago to remove a tumor (non cancerous). I'll pray for her and your family.
