Here's my new monogram from Amarillas Amy. She is so awesome for doing this! I have been thinking of using the magnet diy for my STDs that I found in Office Depot. Has anyone ever tried this? I know they're pretty big, but they will save me time and money since I'm watching my guest list and budget expand... Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I don't have illustrator but they look amazing. I really like the leafy wispy design. That's very smart of him to roll and then burn. I was figuring everyone burned and then rolled. Brilliant!

Welcome! This place has been a great source for gaining some sanity! I completely agree with you. It's great to have a place where you can talk to people going through or who have been through the same thing you are going through.

I'm going barefoot too and buying some gianormous wedges for height for the reception!

Help me pick my dress...

I voted for dress 1. Very flattering! -
Congratulations! I've never been to the Yucatan area, but 2 people have told me they had a great time at Dreams in Tulum...I think that's in the same area. One was a single girl who thought it was fun and filled with activities..just didn't like the rocky beach and had to wear watershoes. The other person is married with 2 young children, and they all loved it. In fact they couldn't get their kids to hang out with them during the day!

Help me pick a dress!!
luckygirl replied to ~*petals*~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I voted for #1. You look fabulous in it. It's very flattering. -
I was considering not doing one, until I started watching all of the various videos of weddings online. Everytime I see one I tear up and get so excited with our upcoming wedding. I don't tear up over the pics though. So, I'm going with a basic package and asking one of our friends to record the front view of my daughter and his son as they walk down the aisle. I definitely want to capture my FI's face when he walks down the aisle. BTW- read your bio elsewhere and you look like you're going to have a fabo wedding. Love the yellow/white/black theme!

Congratulations! Sorry, I don't have any input on Playa Del Carmen.

I've worked in the beauty industry for a very long time and have seen some mixed results with the thermal straighteners. The majority of the girls with the process had very dry and lifeless hair. IMHO and chemical process is great when you make sure you take excellent care of your hair. Unfortunately, the majority of the people do not invest their money or time into finding the right product mix to ensure healthy hair. I've even seen a representative for one of the major companies that makes the thermal process have horrendous hair afterwards, and after a while she decided to grow out the process to where she felt comfortable enough to cut it off. As far as roots are concerned, your roots will still maintain it's natural texture and you will have lots of volume and body at the roots. I have EXTREMELY curly have due to my mixed heritage, and I have had great results with an AVLON texturizer and Goldwell Kerasilk ultra rich shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, serum and flat out marvel straightening balm and my must have T3 wet/dry flat iron. My natural hair texture is thick, curly but soft hair, and even with a texturizer my hair has retained it's curl pattern. However, when I do wear it straight, it's very straight, thin and frizz free (except for really humid weather found in N.O. and K.W. and even then it's not gianormous). When I go curly, I drop the balm and add Sebastian's Laminates Concentrate Gel. With my texturizer my hair does not swell up to Donna Summer proportions even in the Keys and New Orleans. However, when I did not have a texturizer I did use a miracle product called Sabino's Moisture Block, which will provide weight and anti-frizz protection. Try out a product mix that will work for you and realize that there is no ONE product that will work on its own. You have to layer the right products. Good Luck!

What is your favorite brand of Hot Sauce?
luckygirl replied to Alyssa's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
We love Louisiana hot sauce because it is yummy, cholulu (sp.??) and siracha chinese hot sauce with the rooster on the bottle. FH really loves the siracha. -
J. Crew Sanur Dress
luckygirl replied to RyanAmanda's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm sure this dress will work for many people, it looks sooooo cute! I did try it on because I desperately wanted to minimize my packing for my key west trip and thought buying this in several shades would be awesome since the dress is so versatile. However, no matter how I styled the dress, it was not a great look for me. I am 5' and 3/4" (I know I should just round up!) and I think I'm too short for the dress. However, I do think this would work for those who are a few inches taller. It is a very casual and laid back look, but you should do whatever you want to do for YOUR wedding. Plus, everyone would totally be able to wear this again...most likely the next day! Good luck! -

I really do love your invites and have been trying to figure out how to do them, and I do not want to spend a ton of money on the custom made invites I've seen offered online. Like I said earlier, I want to make them for about 20 guest and I am completely clueless when it comes to craft projects. So any step by step guide would be sooo appreciated. This has been a great site as everyone has given me really great ideas. Unfortunately, with working full time, school part-time and my daughter and his son I have not had much time to spend on here as I would like to. So again, I would absolutely LOVE any form of guidance you can offer. Thanks so much! Quote: Originally Posted by Galit Thanks everyone!!! I ordered the woven paper from papermojo.com - just search "woven grass paper" on their website... I ordered the "brown harvest" color 2. They werent really hard to make, just time consuming. My advice to you is if you have the money, use a commercial printer. I spent around $350.00 on thermography printing, and that covered all paper cutting (including the grass paper), the actual invite, response card, hotel and travel card, and a welcome dinner card. I think it was definitely the right move for me because my printer wasn't cutting it and I would have wasted TONS of paper trying to get them just right. If it's something you are serious about I can totally walk you through it. Oh, and double sided tape from paper source was the best thing to enter my life since I discovered circle cutters (I know, I am a little obsessed with this wedding)! 3. All in all, I probably ended up spending around $750, but if I had paid to have them made it would have been atleast twice as much, so it was totally worth it... 100 invitations was a lot, but knowing that my guests loved them was so rewarding... I would totally do it again. Hope this helps!

Your invitations look absolutely amazing! Your guest should totally be impressed. They are exactly what I want for my invitations, but I have no clue on how to make them and do not want to spend the $$$$$ to have them custom made. Where did you find the woven background paper? How did you do it?? Would you still do the invites yourself if you were only making 20? Not sure if I'm even using the right terminology as I am not a DIYer.
