If that makes sense. 2nd dress again you look amazing, and it looks like a destination wedding dress very sexy and sleek. But are you in heels? Because of the drop waist you look very long and sleek through your torso but it makes your legs look shorter. Again you won't go wrong with either one. Happy selecting. You're right on! I did not have on heels and yes #2 does make my short legs look even shorter. I've chosen dress #1 because it makes me feel friggin hot and the majority of the posters chose #1.. which I was leaning towards but wasn't sure if it was appropo(sp?) for my beach wedding. You're way good with fashion!!

I can't thank you enough. Julie's pictures are beautiful. Are you going to use her? Your welcome. I didn't receive the pm. Her pics are phenomenal, now I'm just waiting to her back from David if my date is available...ughhh the suspense!
  4. I didn't go to the showcase since I didn't want to confuse myself with more options. But, in Columbia, MD there's Columbia Bridal and Ellicott City has Venus Bridal. I ended up with a David's Bridal Oleg Cassini mermaid style since I'm a visual person and needed to see a dress in my size on me. I was very surprised by what I found.
  5. So I finally talked to Julie today and when I asked her about the dress she said someone else had asked her....it was you...LOL. So, I'm glad she was able to confirm for you what Islamorada bride already told you. Good luck.
  6. I like, I like! I just rec'd my FI suit from Banana Republic. It's a 2 button, but I like this 3 button. We're going to check this out this weekend. I can always return the BR suit. You're right, it is hard finding them now.
  7. Very cute. I hadn't even thought of Wooden Soldier, so thanks for posting.
  8. I agree with the other posters...don't sweat it. I can understand you feeling the way you do, but he won't remember. I just had that happen to me while I was reading a post I put on about choosing my dress and he walked in while I was scrolling through the replies. Whatevs...he won't remember it...it was for a split second. You knock him out when he does see you in person on your wedding day.
  9. My FI purchased e-ring insurance through Statewide, with whom he also has car and rental insurance. He received a discount too and pays $14/month. Not sure if there's a deductible. He did have to give a copy of the appraisal from the jeweler.

One of my friends forced me to go over my skepticism that I would find anything...so I had to hear her "I told you so." So, I canceled my appts. with the more expensive boutiques and am choosing one from DB and saving lots of money to which I will put towards hiring an awesome photographer.

In fact, here's the tmi part, but because it was so tight I had the worst case of gas until 3 a.m. I will def. be ordering a larger size which will not give me that fabulous looking waist. I don't know how the ladies survived when corsets were all the rage.
  14. Thank you everyone for your opinions and the wonderful compliments..I'm blushing here! I had been leaning towards #1 but was wondering if it would be too much. But with an overwhelming vote for #1, I'm going to order it tomorrow. Thank you for helping me choose such a major item for my wedding!
  15. Congrats and welcome to the forum. I have a Joe too, so your fi must be awesome too ;-)
  16. Since this is a dress I might be wearing as well..hehehe..I think the glitter shoes are the bomb, but not with the dress. I agree with fuscia too! That's one of my wedding colors and after reading everyone's input here, I'm going with fuschia too. I'll check back with you to see which shoes you're going to choose.
  17. It looks exactly like the dress a bride was wearing on the photographer's website I'm thinking about using. Check out the site for the pictures of the bride in the dress. Noha & Eric It's a beautiful dress and she looks amazing in it. The Nicole Miller dress doesn't look like it has the pleating that's on the dress in the Brides.com site. I'll see if I can find it.

But then FI really wanted peeps there too, so now it's KW. Took me months to decide.
  19. Those are great dresses, I really like the color. Can't beat a sale! No info on applique
  20. I am so pre-filling my reply card too. I don't blame you either. It's your wedding and your paying for it (or someone is) and it's about who you want. I just had this conversation with my father about my 1/2 brother who is 15 years younger than me and lives in California and whom I've talked to for all of 5 minutes in my entire life. I told my father I'm not inviting him and he was like, well it is blood, and I was like this is true, but he's still not invited with how expensive each plate is and I don't even really know him. Same convo with a guy friend like yours, and I told him no he can't bring some chick I don't even know...plus why would he bring sand to the beach...hahaha So you go gurl and stick to your guns!
  21. I like pic #2 with half up. But, I think working with your hair instead of against it with curls will save you hair drama the day of....so all up is my vote.
