  1. Those are fantastic!!! He will love them! I've been looking for a BD photog in the Dallas area, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable with a dude! How as that? I think I'm going to be timid enough, but with a male photographer, I think I'd be worse! But I assume you'd recommend him? Your pics are fantastic!
  2. Hello Cancun Brides! Who will be officiating your wedding? Were you able to choose someone, or did you just use the hotel's rep? Thanks!
  3. I know! I've been running around like an idiot! I have so many posts to catch up on! My entire team, including my boss, at work quit, so I have been in work-hell for the last month. How are you guys?
  4. I just got my invites in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!!!
  5. Hello! I just picked up my invitations, and I LOVE THEM! I am not a DIYer and had my invitations done at Petite Folie in Coppell. They have hundreds of invitation samples in their store and it is a GREAT place to walk around and find ideas! They also have tons of pocket-fold invitations which is what I was looking for! Their prices are reasonable and they have been absolutely wonderful to work with!! I highly recommend them! Petite Folie 820 S Macarthur Blvd Ste 139 Coppell, TX 75019 Phone: (972) 304-4373 I AM SO EXCITED THAT MY INVITES ARE FINALLY IN THE MAIL!!!!
  6. We're expecting about 100 and we're having it at the Hilton in Cancun. It's not an AI and they have plenty of room! The Marriots would be great, too! I'm not sure about Playa del Carmen though... Good luck!
  7. So....what exactly is the fat flush plan? I need to try something and I can't find any detail about this online. I guess I should go get the book? How strict is it? What's the overall gist? I'm wondering if I should even give it a shot... TIA!
  8. Oh, that is great! What is inside them? Candles? I might ask Fernanda if she still has them! And what are the golden lighted things sitting on the ground? Were those the hiltons? Your table runners look phenomenal!!
  9. Thanks everyone! I found some articles online and one said that it wasn't "proper" to use "and guest" on the outer envelope, but I say screw it. I don't know how else to solve this problem, so I'm doing it anyway. Besides, all of the young, single folk won't know what's going on anyway! I'm going to use proper titles for the old folks and just names for our friends. We'll see how this works! Thanks!
  10. Oh, I love the new picture in your siggy! Do you have any pics of the luminaries? The sun sets so early in November that I really think we are going to need some lighting up there. Did you make those yourself? Gabi from Planner Events suggesting putting those globe ball lights (on the hilton website they are shown on the grass in the garden wedding) around the edge of the terrace, but I don't really understand how you would hook those up? And she still hasn't sent me a quote. If you have pics of the luminaries on the terrace, that would be great! I might have to copy you! And seriously, your new siggy pic makes me want to fall in love all over again...
  11. Has anyone heard if it damaged Cancun? Is everyone in Mexico okay? Thinking of you all!
  12. We are planning on using the Mexican Trio (los principes) for the ceremony and cocktail hour, too! Indy - how did the luminaries work out on the ledge? Did you have any trouble keeping them from blowing over? What is the lighting like up there? I was hoping to set up white christmas lights or something, but I'm not sure if they can do that! Also, did you tip Fernanda? If so, how much? I'm still wondering how to handle that. AND...what was that cute little "wish" thing you had in your OOT bags? Was that a passport cover? So cute! Sorry for all of the questions, but clearly, I love your taste!
  13. Hi! We are doing a pocketfold invitation, and since it is more casual, we are not doing an inner envelope. My question is how to you let people know exactly who is invited? For example, how do the single people get "and guested"? I think usually the outer envelope would say Ryan Jones 123 Main St, Austin, TX and the inner envelop would say Ryan Jones and Guest. Correct? What do you do if you don't have an inner envelope? And also, how do we let people know that their kids are invited? Do we just say the Robert Newman Family? Or Robert Newman & Family? Or The Newman Family? I don't know how to do this when you're only using one envelope! Has anyone had similiar issues? TIA!
  14. Indy - how did you like DJ Mannia? How is married life treating you?

But congrats to all of you, can't wait to see who wins!!!!! Me too!!!!! Holy cow I cannot keep up with life right now!!! Heading out of town again today and not only did I get a new role at work, but right afterwards, everyone else quit!! I am screwed!! I lost a total of 7 pounds. I'm happy with that, but I still have more to go! Congrats to all of you girls!!! Maura - sorry I suck and I made your tracking job more difficult!!! I know that's a pain!

What did you decide on? kelcrooks, She just got me my contract, so you should def get yours soon! I feel SO much better now!! All (especially Opice), HELP! Speaking of the contract...so I'm thinking I'm running into that whole "insurance" dilemma. You know, the one that you negotiate out of the contract? Was this what it says about it in the contract? "You further agree to obtain and keep in force General Liability Insurance covering the event described in this contract with the limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurance & to provide the hotel with a Certificate of Insurance naming Hotel, Hilton, and the owner as an additional insured for your event" Ok so I emailed her and told her I wanted it taken out (is that what everyone else did?) and she said that there are a few companies in the US I can go through to do this. Did anyone else have to do this? Yes, and I called the companies she gave me and they had no idea what I was talking about. I would do that, if I were you. Call them, they'll tell you they don't insure events in Mexico, and then you can give Fernanda that message. That's what I did and she took it out. The US companies basically laughed at me when I called and asked for insurance for a wedding in Mexico. Gotta run...more later! Hugs!
  17. I can't wait until Indy gets home!!!! --Jessica - the planning visit was GREAT, but I don't think it's necessary. They could email you pics of everything you need to see. I'll post more later, but I'm thinking my bouquet will be white cala lillies, the BMs will hold little fuschia rose bouquets (tight and little), Groom bout will be a white cala lily, GMs bouts will be fuschia roses, fuschia and white petals down the aisle, fuschia and white pomanders hanging from the gazebo... I may replace the fuschia roses with pink gerber daisies. Do you guys think that's okay? Cala lillies seem so elegant to me and gerber daisies seem so casual, but I love gerber daisies! Do you think I could do those two together?? Jessica - what flower did you decide? And what food are you serving?

  19. Indy - good lord I can't wait for you to get back!! I thought about you all weekend! I swear, we have so many similarities! We're getting married at the same place, we both got a mermaid gown, I almost got those invites (but FI vetoed them), we both have an oval ring...but I am in no way near as crafty as you, so I think that's where the similarities end! I'm just giddy about your wedding! Now, get home already and tell us all about it!
  20. Good! She really is great. I just love her. What did you pick for your menu and where is your ceremony? The reception is in the caribe terrace, right?
  21. Yup- the tasting was great! Holy cow it's all so yummy!! Everything looks wonderful! I actually wanted to leave you a card from BDW, but I didn't have time to get one. I thought that would have been a fun surprise though!! I am so so so excited for you!!! Has Fernanda been taking care of you this week? There wasn't a wedding last weekend. I was hoping to see a set-up! You're having a small wedding, right?
  22. Real quick - I was there this weekend and saw Fernanda Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. She was SWAMPED and sat with me in meetings for about 6 hours on Friday. They are trying to get her an assistant because she has so many emails. And apparently last week she was in Dallas for a meeting! (That's where I'm from!) She got back Thursday night, said her email box was completely full and she was with me all day Friday, so she probably hasn't even had a chance to go through them all y et....
  23. Hmmm...hopefully something will come through soon. Someone else told me that they only take cash? Is that true? Also - what formula did you use to figure out how much alcohol you'd need? If there a rule of thumb regarding how many bottles per person per hour or something? Oy! So much to figure out! TIA!
