  1. Yes, all three of my Dollarama's have them. Oh, and those plastic bags- they have one big strip or two strips of orange/ blue/ green or pink on them- those are the ones that I'm using for our beach bags. LoL. Those candles here have a lot of air bubbles in them though. ~~
  2. I emailed my co-ordinator and am waiting for her to get back to me. It took her nearly three weeks to get back to us the first time, then I ended up just calling her instead. It's so hard to choose what a person wants!!!! ~~
  3. Wow, thanks everyone for such insightful suggestions. I'm so happy that I listened to you all and choose the 3:00p.m. wedding time. Plus, we are thinking of doing the TTD the next evening anyway, because my photog and I both agree that it would be very "erotic" with the sun setting and stuff. ~~
  4. Okay, so when I go to pick the wedding packages- I would still choose a normal package? ~~
  5. I think that if it is something that you are considering and would add a romantic advantage to your trip- plus deep down you want to do it, then go for it. What is $500 in the grand scale of things? I know that I can drop that in a golf store or a clothing store and not think twice about it. Well, I think twice about it, but you know what I mean. ~~
  6. After the hassels that we are having with Sunquest [they keep changing the departure dates for our guests and ours cities] we are barely slinding in the time frame of the "4 days prior" policy. We are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Colonial. I'm so worried that Sunquest is going to change another departure date and some of our guests will miss the wedding. As it stands currently, some guests will be leaving the day after the wedding. Anyway, the more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards the "symbolic ceremony" because, from what I gather, you do not need to be in Mexico for the four days prior. What does this ceremony entail? Plus, does anyone have any information about the Barcelo's policy on symbolic ceremonies? We still want to have the reception and everything that a normal civil one would have, because we don't plan on telling people that we will have married before. I have emailed the wedding co-ordinator, but haven't heard anything back from them. Thanks. ~~
  7. Hi, I'm getting married at the Barcelo Colonial in February. So far, there have been a few glitches, but that is because of our carrier, not the resort itself. I would totally recommend the Barcelo, just because it is a bit more quiet and if you decide to go Prestige, you get more things. If you have any questions at all, just pm me. ~~
  8. LoL, a month and a half of moving the stove? Wowers, you must have had pipes for arms after that. ~~
  9. I'm all about those key cards. I'm totally thieving that idea!!!! Way to go, you so rock!!!! ~~
  10. Haha, maybe I should get a moderator to change the post name. LoL. ~~
  11. I can totally see the water pistols being HUGE with my men that are coming. What are the water bombs? ~~
  12. Thanks so much. I am thinking that is what my fiance is attempting to get at as well, men don't care. Congrats on the pregnancy. ~~
  13. Well, I called the co-ordinator and she asked me what time I want it at, so I said 3:00p.m. LoL. I'm so cunfused, first they say I can't pick the time, now they say I can. Oh well, got my time so that's all that matters. ~~
  14. Hmmmm.... Sounds pretty good. That's basically the wedding that I wanted to have anyway. LoL. It was Francis who wanted a big wedding and he's not doing any of the work!!!! ~~

Let me know if you need more info! ~Linds Linds, I'm sure that you probably heard from Darlene the panick attack that the Barcelo has just put us through. Luckily though, the "right" wedding co-ordinator called and fixed it all up. Is this what you did though? Got married here first then done there? Does this basically mean then that you don't have to go through all that legal stuff? I need to do some research and see what package is offered through the Barcelo. ~~
  16. Our wedding guests are leaving from all over Canada, and Sunquest keeps changing our departure dates. Right now, we [as in the bride and groom] leave on Sunday the 8th and were hoping to get married on the Thursday the 12th because some of our guests are leaving on the Saturday. Well, it looks like we have to be there 4 full days prior to the wedding, so that means then the wedding needs to be on the Friday, which is the 13th. Plus, half of our guests, including the photographer who was planning a next day trash the dress, will be leaving on the Saturday. I don't know what to do- who wants to leave the day right after the wedding? I'm just throwing this idea out here, because I am having such a hard time getting information out of the wedding co-ordinator, but if I got married at home before I left, would we still have to wait the 4 full days in Mexico? ~~
  17. You are not done yet. You still have 6 months to go. LoL. ~~
  18. Haha, just shows how much I've hit the wall, I can't even get sayings right. LoL. We are throwing in koozies already. The keychains are a good idea though. ~~
  19. I'm like half-way through my OOT bag buying and I've already gone crazy with buying too much stuff, but hey, that's half the fun. I still need to buy more though!!!! I really need some help finding something for the men. I know that I posted this before and I've searched through the other threads, but everything that I keep bringing up, Francis keeps veto'ing my ideas, and it's starting to piss me off. I first wanted hats for the men, but he didn't like that. Then it went to poker chips and playing cards- no go on that one. Tee shirts, no way. I offered golf balls and tees, but he says they are too heavy. Ugh, help ladies. My groom is being too much of a bride. ~~
  20. I want to see some pictures of the personalized key chains. Sounds like something that I might want to add to our bags. Your bags sound wonderful!!!! ~~

I'm not sure if you need a minimum number of guests for this, I doubt it, it was just one of the options for the under the stars program. As for timing, we had the ceremony on the beach at 4.00, followed by a cocktail hour directly afterwards with hors d'oeuvres. That went til 6.30, which I was worried about (it was about an hour and 45 minutes of cocktail hour), but it was actually really fun because we had mariachis at the cocktail hour, so people really enjoyed it and some even danced then! The cocktail hour and the ceremony were right next to each other, and then the reception was a few minutes walk down the beach so they all flowed nicely one into the other. For the rain venues, she will show you your options on the day you arrive. Ours was one of the theatres and it was nice I thought... Good luck, it will be wonderful! Thank you so much for posting this. I'm in the process right now of working things out with our wedding co-ordinator, we have Gabriela. I'm currently awaiting her approval of my photographer, that we are bringing from here and already placed out deposit down on, so hopefully it will get approved. I'm so nervous about it. ~~
  22. Daylight savings time? LoL. Where I live, that does not happen. We are so backwards. Anyway, Gabriela [the Barcelo co-ordinator] just emailed me and told me that I don't have a choice for the times of our wedding. Nice hey? She said I can "request" a time, but it all depends on the judge. If I didn't have so many deposits down, I would change hotels. I'm having so many issues with them right now. ~~
  23. I need some help deciding. We cannot decide between a wedding at 3:00p.m. or 5:00p.m. We are getting married at the Barcelo. Anyway, we both want the sun to start setting at the end of the ceremony- so that we can start taking pictures with the sun setting. Plus we want to get in about an hour or so of pictures afterwards with the sun. I wouldn't mind also the sun to be setting during the beginning of the dinner reception. Which time should we pick? What time does the sun set in Mexico- Mayan Riviera? I'm from Saskatchewan Canada, so the sun takes about 4 hours to set here, it's very very flat. LoL. Thanks. ~~
