So I had a bit of wedding dress drama - you can read about here if you're interested. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t30271 I was also pretty worried that it wouldn't fit because it was ordered in a size smaller than I was...but luckily I'm almost there and it looks like the dress won't need ANY alterations...weird, right Anyway, without further ado, here is me in my white - not ivory dress...don't mind my head (or lack there of) and current pouch...I plan to get rid of that in the next two months!

so i just thought i would mention that Toby Keith's new album (released yesterday) has a song on it about Cabo San Lucas. i know i am making a mix of all songs about "mexico" and thought one of you Cabo brides might be doing the same and be interested in this new track. i couldn't find a clip of the song online yet, but i'm sure it'll be out on youtube or TK's website soon. it's not too fast or too slow...def not really a song for the wedding, but maybe for a pre-wedding cocktail party or poolside or something like that.

others have suggested getting it dyed, but i'm more a place it safe kind of person, at least for this...i'd rather have it be white than have it ruined if it doesn't turn out well, KWIM?

if you've never had them before, i'd go the day before (just in case you don't actually like what it looks like)...but they are heavenly so i'm sure you'll have a great experience and get addicted

awww...definitely make sure your daughter knows what a good friend she has (although I'm sure she already knows)...that little story warmed my heart, thanks for sharing! my best friend "C" was coming to my mexico wedding until she got a boyfriend who lived across the country and spent all her money flying to see him this past year and is now too broke to come...she has enough money to go see him three more times before my wedding in January though - can't believe she actually had the balls to tell me that, but whatever :/ loving a man can make people do crazy things...like forget you love your friends too. god, i'm so bratty right now, sorry ladies!!!

wow, what a year. i think it says a lot about you and your FI that you've gotten through it all together! and i agree with the rest of the ladies - don't jump the gun and cancel all together, first see if you can get out of the $10K consumption contract and then plan something better suited for just the 15-20 family members that you know will be joining you. canceling your wedding would just be another blow in an already bad year...so move forward with your wedding and make it the turning point! you deserve some happiness!!! good luck sweetie!

i'm finally going back tomorrow afternoon to try it on again...i'll post pics when I get back - fingers crossed that i love it now...

so i've posted before about my wedding dress...first i was stressed that it was ordered in a size too small for me, but in the end, it's fit OK - but now the problem is its not the color i was intending (my fault, not the shop's)...its bright white, not ivory. anyway, there's nothing they can do about it since my wedding is too close to order a new one, so i've just been sucking it up. well...now that the wedding location is in question, i figure its only fitting that my dress is in question. so i'm going back tomorrow at lunchtime to try on my dress again and see if the white has grown on me. if not, i may be back on the hunt for a wedding dress AND a wedding resort i'll post pics tomorrow...

hi ladies...i'm a DT bride that may wind up getting moved so I've been checking out your thread. i saw pics on the website that showed this great open palapa area/restaurant and was wondering if anyone knows if this is available for wedding dinner/receptions with music and dancing. I noticed that you've mentioned that you can't have your dinner in the restaurants if you have more than 8 people, so just wondering if the area I'm referring to is actually a restaurant...? also, the deal with being charged for the white chair covers seems ridiculous to me, but i'm not sweating the small stuff at this point...i'm more concerned with actually having somewhere to get married thanks so much ladies!!!

that makes me pretty nervous...why would they be looking into relocating your wedding at the end of December if they're "confident" they'll be reopening soon crap crap crap. i've been trying SO HARD not to freak out and DAMN IT - now I am freaking out!!!

you know, i think its just hard getting so many "will not attend" RSVPs day after day, esp from close friends...we invited close to 200 people though and knew only about 20% would come, so i should have prepared myself better i guess!

aww, sweetie, I'm so sorry your first dress shopping experience wasn't a good one, but don't get down. don't make yourself crazy and wait until February - like the others ladies have suggested, just try a larger shop like Davids...even if its just for ideas of the shapes and styles you like - a better trip will erase the bad feelings about the first one!!!

we're spending a week in Mexico pre/post wedding and then two weeks in Hawaii (Big Island and then Kauai)
