  1. YAAAY!!! So glad it worked out...can;t wait to see pics of you in it!!
  2. perhaps you should contact TA Jennifer - she's a Sandals expert and I think there is one nearby the Breezes you're currently booked at... i'm so sorry this is happening...hold tight...hoping you get a response soooon!
  3. Welcome to the forum Gina! Congrats on your engagement and setting the date! Happy planning
  4. hey ladies, just checking in so say hello!! can't believe my wedding is only 2 weeks away - soooo excited....and my legal wedding is TOMORROW woo-hoo! just wanted to let y'all know that since my date is so close, Annabel and Landy have been super responsive, so don't stress if you're not hearing from them in a timely manner while you're date is still far off - they'll get on the ball when it gets close to game time i'm going to start packing on Tuesday so I'll take pics of all my stuff and post a planning thread. just wanted to say thanks in advance to all you wonderful ladies for all your help, ideas, answers, support, and general fabulousness off to watch the video stephanie posted...
  5. i started this thread a few months ago and just wanted to say, being two weeks away from my wedding now, i'm SO over this! i'm just SO excited for my wedding and to spend time with the folks that are going to with us (50+) and honestly, the hurt over those who won't be there has totally faded. so anyone who is reading through and thinking the same way I was, just know it'll get better!!
  6. Went on a little shopping spree yesterday and this morning and came home with 10-12 new tops and 5 lingerie sets...added to the stuff I already have from last summer, I'm worried I won't have enough clothes for our 2 week honeymoon, so I'm wondering if those of you who've honeymooned found you under or over packed??
  7. yeah, just fixed that...don't know what is up with my copy and paste function!
  8. so last weekend, my sisters hosted yet another shower for me and afterwards we headed out for my bachelorette party. we went country line dancing...woo-hoo! I know it doesn't sound like everyone's cup of tea, but it was freaking hilarious and SO MUCH FUN! And i even managed to enjoy the whole night because I remembered to follow every drink with a bottle of water here are some pics from my camera - better ones were taken, but i don't have them yet my sisters booked two rooms at a nearby hotel and decorated one with lingerie for my honeymoon (friend danielle in pic) they gave dance lessons at the bar before the real dancing started...we were still clueless, but had a blast anyway they had a mechanical bull that i got to ride...priceless! falling off the bull falling off the bull after ride #2 (see my arm at the bottom...hahah) then random guys pull you out of the crowd and make you two step with them...sounds weird but these guys are so funny and REALLY good teachers! with all my girls!!! So if you've never tried it, grab some girlfriends and try a country line dancing bar one night...i promise its fun!!!
  9. When my seamstress showed me my bustle options, I liked the outside bustle much better than the under neither option. When I picked up my dress yesterday, I was surprised to see it only had ONE hook...is this normal? I guess maybe I should bring an extra strong safety pin in case it doesn't hold up?? EEK - now I'm worried (dress drama is never ending apparently)
  10. i tried VS yesterday, but they didn't have any...could always check another store though - thanks!
  11. I had no idea they carried them in department stores - thanks! I'm off to the mall
  12. My bridal shop didn't carry them and I need them! Any suggestions? I'll need to buy them in person as opposed to online because we leave in a week... Muchas Gracias!!!
  13. aww, thanks ladies - you're so sweet to check back in and make sure it turned out all right
  14. great tip, abbie - thanks! i'm a little worried about the receipt thing in mexico (how you can only bring $200 worth of stuff....I have about $1000!) so hopefully we can canoodle if one of us get stopped so they search the luggage with just our clothes and kelly...totally feeling you on freaking first and then finding the whole thing hilarious - how did i accumulate SO MUCH STUFF!!! I hope I have enough suitcases to fit it all!!!
  15. All fixed, picked it up today and it looks just perfect...now i just have to fit into it!!!
  16. of course it can! just make sure to tell your seamstress your wedding date and then schedule your final fitting 2-3 weeks out so there's time to make those alterations if needed. i'm picking up my dress today and my wedding is in two weeks
  17. i think its a personal choice and you should give what you can without "rules", but my mom always taught us to give $100 per person so that's what I've done my whole adult life. my exceptions are when i'm in the bridal party ($250) and when its one of my sisters ($500).
  18. So I was thinking it might be nice to send post cards from our honeymoon spot (Hawaii) to all 50 of our guests, thanking them for coming to Mexico for our wedding. When we get back from the honeymoon, I also plan to send formal thank yous to any of the guests who gave us a gift. is it inappropriate to send post card thank yous? if i do it, should i follow up with a formal thank you card to everyone, as well (not just those who gave gifts)? the post card thing is more of an immediate "thanks so much for being with us" that i thought would be thougthful, but i don't want anyone thinking its poor form...
  19. not sure this works for you, but I thought it was special - my sister bought her niece a necklace with a pearl on it and note to the parents that for each birthday and special occasion a new pearl would be added...so by the time she's older, she'll have a beautiful pearl necklace
  20. aww, sweetie - that's such a hard situation! but its not uncommon, as i think lots of people go through periods in their life when they don't feel they have "a person" (to quote Greys Anatomy). its just lousy that its happening to you at the same time you're planning your wedding. i can understand how it might be ackward to have your FI have a best man and you not have an MOH...can you talk to FI and see if there is some other special way to include his Dad so you don't have to worry about the bridal party issue at all? if that's not an option, talk to your three sisters and explain the situation...maybe they'll surprise you and be really excited about it and you can have all three (or maybe one of them will be really excited about it, making it easier to choose just that one). as for the wedding dress shopping...to be honest, i would have LOVED to go alone and avoid everyone else's opinions and pushing so maybe its a blessing in disguise
  21. this sounds like sciatica...try googling it to see what they recommend
  22. you guys look amazing!!! love the pic on the staircase...and man does your man have some vertical
  23. it may have been unnecessary to say so, but don't worry about it too much - she'll get over it...she'll probably realize soon as a bride-to-be she wouldn't want anyone getting engaged at HER wedding either
