  1. hi! just got back from our DT wedding...only have a few non pro pics to share so far... We leave for Hawaii in the morning so i'll post my review and pro pics when I get back at the end of the month Landy and Anabel ROCK! Everything was great...more to come when we get back OH - and the iPod docking stations take 2 AAA batteries
  2. YAY - congratulations!!! You looked sooo beautiful and all your pics are so fun! i'm so glad i got to read this before i leave in the morning...i'm super excited for my day now Thanks again for the review and congrats on being a beautiful Mrs!!! PS - love all your little details and color scheme!!!
  3. so under ten hours until we leave and we're still not done packing...actually FI hasn't even STARTED packing hahahah! my fun purchase today was walkie talkies so FI and check in with each other if we're off at different parts of the resort...i'll let you know how it worked when we get back! have fun planning in the next three weeks - see y'all on the flip side
  4. I was hoping to see a bunch of you, but we leave on Jan 19th for Hawaii... I'm sure I'll see Sblake though
  5. that sucks..and def tacky to inform you via text, but she was probably afraid to call... i wouldn't bother re-doing your programs, but do what you feel is best. You could always print tiny labels with the correct readers name and just paste them on (though that would be time consuming, as well). chin up - you're still going to have a fabulous day!!!
  6. random question, but dour does anyone else ever get a "database error" message when trying to pull up the forum in your browser? i about had a heart attack 10 minutes ago thinking the forum was down the day before i leave for mexico!! also...anyone know the answer the battery question for the iPod docking station? i'm assuming their either Cs or Ds, but want to make sure I bring the right ones!!! i have a few minor things to do tonight...like pack my clothes!! and then tomorrow is mani/pedi, hair trim, tanning and finishing up a DIY project I threw in at the last minute, but overall I'm feeling pretty good can't wait to tell you all about it when I get back in February!!!
  7. I think its OK if you don't want to, its your wedding so you should feel free to tell you mom no. That said, its my nieces 10th bday on the day of our wedding and I'm so excited to have the whole reception sing Happy Birthday to her cause I know it'll make her feel special. But again - totally your call.
  8. connie - doing the legal thing is exciting, even if its only signing papers! i just finished packing two suitcases of all our wedding STUFF...tomorrow I'm going to pack my clothes and carry-on and post my planning thread. I was so dreading packing, but in the end it was so bad - woo-hoo!
  9. hey there - your questions can be answered by reading the first couple pages of this thread...Sunbride did such a great job compiling all the info so be sure to check it out! But for quick reference: 1) DT allows 2-3 wedding per day. It used to be 3, now its 2, but if brides booked before the change of policy you could still wind up with 3 brides on the same day. Sblake and I are getting married one hour apart at the same location on the beach, but we have separate reception sites on the resort...I really don't think its going to be a problem, but if its important to you to be the only bride on your days, DT may not be the place for you...you could check out Paradisus Riviera Cancun (they only do one wedding per day) 2) DT can handle as many guests as you can muster! We have a bit over 60 and our reception location (the Seaside Grill) can easily accommodate that many. 3) There are several reception location options at DT, including El Patio (open air terrace), Seaside Grill (open air, yet enclosed resturaunt...if that makes sense), and the ballrooms in the new convention facility they built last year. Pics of all these spots can be found on the first few pages on the thread. Good luck!
  10. Oh Kelly - I hope you're having a WONDERFUL day!!! congrats
  11. What a GREAT idea - they are awesome! I wish I had thought of that for my BMs! BTW - the blue dress (you?) are wearing in the photo on the cover of the books looks to be the same dress my BMs are wearing for my wedding!
  12. my bridesmaids are my sisters, so it was a different situation. i paid for their flights to mexico, bought then wedding day jewelry to match their dresses, and MOH tanks. Without the flights, the jewelry and tanks cost about $100 per girl. When I've been a bridesmaid, I have received wedding jewelry, which I'd guess cost about $75-100, so that seems like the going range to me.
  13. YAY - today is my last day of work before the wedding! And last night we FINALLY made the CDs of music for pre-ceremony and ceremony...I listened this morning at the gym and can't wait to get down to Mexico so I can time the walks down the aisle so everything is perfect I was planning to start packing this past Tuesday, but don't have enough suitcases yet so I'm going to start tonight and get it all done this weekend...I'm SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!! the last of our bridal party gifts came in last night so everything is ready to go...just need to print off the welcome letters and do one small DIY project at my sisters tomorrow and we'll be set...what a relief!
  14. OH...MY...GOD! You have GOT to be kidding me? That is so inappropriate, I'm totally floored! On the upside, I'm pretty sure most people find it ridiculous to wear your wedding dress anywhere and anytime other than your wedding day, so if your side of family is going to recognize it, I'm sure they'll laugh their asses off! I'm with Becks, by the way...sic a friend with red wine on her - or better yet, have someone accidentally bump her into the pool (oops!)
  15. Welcome to the forum! December isn't technically high season so you should still be able to find reasonable prices if you go with that timeframe...March is the peak of high season so folks are right about that option being very expensive. good luck!
  16. us too (not having one!)...we will likely have a BBQ at some point in the spring, but i don't consider that an AHR. we invited EVERYONE to our wedding in mexico so i don't think we need to have an AHR just cause they decided not to come.
  17. sometimes it just takes an idea to get the juices flowing, so while this isn't great, hopefully it'll help inspire more (and better) creativity... "Leaving notes on someone's door... That's what these post-its are here for!"
  18. I think SunBride is actually referring to me...when i went for my site visit in July I spoke to Landy about the old vs new prices and she said i had to pay the new ones anyway and i didn't fight it, though if I had, I'm sure she would have said it was OK to go with the old guide prices. to me, we're still getting the 5 course menu (where as in the new guide its only 4 courses) so I don't mind paying the extra $10 per head. OH - and I had asked earlier about candles with centerpieces and it turns out I'm total dummy - its right in the new guide that table centerpieces with candles is $75 (vs straight centerpiece for $65) so I'm all set there

  20. yeah, no i haven't called them...i haven't done much of anything these last couple of days except dread packing and eat my face off...after all this time i think my brain and body are rebelling against this wedding - or at least the planning and dieting part hehehehe. i'll give them a buzz and see what they say...i have to assume that at the very least the florist would have them and charge me extra for them (and at this point who cares!)
  21. hey guys - i want to have votives on our tables, surrounding the centerpiece...do you think DT has these or will I have to bring them? i mentioned it in my emails and information sheets for Landy/Anabel, but didn't hear anything back and not sure whether that's good or bad news
  22. hehe - no trouble sleeping yet...not because i'm not excited or anxious, but because I'm still getting up at 6am to go to the gym cause i'm scared my dress won't fit perfectly so I'm zonked by 10pm each night! i'm sure sleepless nights are headed my way though soon
