  1. does anyone have the envelopperinc color index booklet? its $25 and I thought I might be able to borrow it from another bride... If not, I'll order it and would be glad to pass it around to whoever might need it later on...
  2. and I know I owe you all my list of Q&A and I promise I'll get that this weekend. a couple of things Landy still needs to find out about are the cost of fire dancers and lounge furniture (I know a lot of us are waiting eagerly for those costs...hopefully she'll let me know soon)
  3. I forgot to add my info: Username: neen Names: Janine & Dave Date & Time: January 17, 2009 @ 4pm Number of Guests: 50-75 Coordinator: Landy Ceremony Location: Beach by SG Cocktail Hour Location: Chapel courtyard/terrace Reception Location: SG Photographer: Claudia Rodriguez Videographer: Resort Wedsite: Welcome
  4. I just wanted to throw out a suggestion to those of you having a small wedding with under 20 guests...the seaside grill is obviously great (I'm having my reception there too), as are all the other restuarants, but when I was there last weekend I also saw a wedding reception dinner done in the massage hut on the beach for 16 people. It was beautiful and private and right on the beach...here is a pic. I don't know if it would cost more, but I'd imagine not much This is just beyond the "quiet pool" nearer the water activities hut
  5. How fun...didn't realize there was a thread for Jan 09 brides I'm getting married January 17th at Dreams Tulum. I just went down last weekend for a site visit and got everything figured out with the WC...ceremony & reception site (and rain back-ups), welcome cocktail party location, menus, music, flowers, cake, and schedule. I also had a hair and make-up trial, but they were disasterous...I looked like I was going to a prom in 1987!!! But my sister is now going to do my hair and make-up so all's good We've sent out our STDs and I'm going to send a reminder postcard in two weeks. Invites are (almost) picked and they'll be going out October 1st. I ordered my dress...comes in September. We bought FI suit and have registered for most of the things we want/need at Crate & Barrel and Macys. I just started looking for material for the table overlays and chair bows, and am working on finding paper for the menu cards and welcome letters. I've made a list of all the OOT bag stuff I need to get and started making a playlist for the reception. We still need to pick our wedding party attire and our wedding bands...oh and pick a first dance song (FI is procrastinating). And we need to book our honeymoon, but finally decided on Hawaii so should get that out of the way soon. I also need to pick out jewelry, shoes, and wedding party/parent gifts, but I think we're pretty much on track... Am I forgetting anything? There's so much that goes into a wedding and my list keeps getting longer, but I always feel like I'm forgetting something!!!
  6. Yes, 50 or so would fit really nicely inside the SG. They typically use 10pp tables so you can set those up around the perimeter and have the center for dancing. What we've decided to do though, if weather permits, is have the dancing just outside the seaside grill on the pooldeck next to the pool bar/footbridge.
  7. great job, stephanie!!! just got back from my site visit at DT and it was wonderful, I'm totally at ease about my January wedding now. i got most of our questions answered, but some Landy had to look into...I'll post all that later today/tonight when I get a chance. for now, i'll just echo what every other bride has said...RELAX, the wedding coordinators are fabulous and will make sure you get what you want for your wedding day!
  8. its the same idea of the shell, starfish, etc on a string, but not quite as themed. just stand long rectangles or ovals ties together...i'll keep searching
  9. I think it would work out well for both flowergirls! so cute
  10. the invitation format I'm looking for and i've been searching around online forever. I'm looking for the invitations that have multiple "tags" strung together, typically the tags/pages are different colors (one for the invite, one for the reception info, etc. I know I've seen them, but can't seem to use the right word in my searches to find a company that does them... Anyone? TIA
  11. Yea, I know but I figured since it was still open that someone might pop in, but I'll know better next time
  12. Congrats Julie! Thanks so much for sharing all the details with us...every good review makes me feel better and better about our choice!!! I can't wait to go look at your pics! I'm wondering already if you know the name of the person who did your hair and makeup? Sorry I've been MIA, work has been crazy but I'm leaving next Thursday for Mexico and I will see if I can get the following from Landy (just added to my list!): - example of spreadsheet - list of linen/chair bow colors (pics too if I can) - different table sizes - music list for the DJ - the real deal with music for an outside wedding Let me know if there are other things you ladies would like me to find out about...I'm starting to feel bad for Landy already with all the questions I'm going to through at her, but I'm sure she'll have all the answers!!!
  13. we just made the decision...we are having a ceremony and reception in Mexico, but our actual wedding will be just the two of us during our honeymoon in Hawaii (shhh). i'd like it to be special, but not over the top...can anyone recommend a hotel or resort that puts on lovely "just us two" weddings? we're open to any island at this point as we plan to jump around a bit during our two weeks there after our Mexico "party" i'm so excited!!!
  14. i missed this thread somehow, but we're doing the same thing...symbolic ceremony and reception in Mexico, then making it legal in Hawaii. I'll have to PM you to find out how it all worked out for you...
  15. so we almost 30 people for the rehearsal dinner and i really don't want to pay an extra fee. i'm going to ask Landy when I visit if its possible to make 3 seperate reservations of 10 or fewer at the same restaurant at the same time...maybe we can get around it that way. otherwise i think we may just do it in the buffet if they can block off a quieter section for us and will let us decorate just a little bit...has anyone does this?
  16. can't wait to see more - you look gorgeous and LOVE your bouquet! Congrat!
  17. great pics...LOVE your gown!!! you guys look like you had a wonderful time! oh and your wedding day hair...i think its my new inspiration pic! Congrats!!!
  18. oooh, i like Alyssa's idea of the stamp...good call on being able to bring it with you to make last minute changes/additions
  19. my FSIL did something like this...go to Micheals and pick out two different patterns of scrapbooking paper, one for each entree and use them to make the escort cards (similar to the Hersey bar idea, but without the Hershey bar)
  20. your dress looks AMAZING on you!!! and love the bustle...so pretty!
