You're not crazy! Maybe you could just get a "day of" coordinator to make sure things run as planned on your wedding day so you and your family can relax and not have to coordinate everyone?

I was pressured out of an AI resort by some of my family members because everyone's initial assumption that it's too expensive for the guests and that the guests would feel like they are paying for the wedding food/drink. After being on this forum I wish I had stuck to my guns!!!! I am very happy with what we're doing now, but I still wish I hadn't been pressured....don't give in!

My MOH's mother is having a shower for me at her home so I thought it would be nice to get her a Jo Malone Candle as a thank you. Jo Malone | Home Candle They are pricey as far as candles go, but she's so great and since she's not in my wedding party it's not like she's getting another bridesmaid gift from me so I thought I could splurge!

Is anyone buying their BM dresses??
addisonreed1113 replied to cessyboston's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I paid for one who I knew was struggling to afford everything and she never ever once complained! I love her! So at the time I could afford it and I'm glad I did! -
OK I'm a dummy I just read the above post!!! Sorry It's too late and I need to go to bed! but great decision! Thanks for all your info!

Ok I may be the odd man out (it's the southern in me!) but it would be really nice if you could do atleast some drinks/heavy appetizers or something like a fajita or taco bar. I've seen a few prices like 25-35 pp for a taco bar. I think you have to take into consideration your wedding guests spent atleast a thousand dollars to come to a DW wedding. I know money gets tight when doing the wedding (I'm right there with you!!!) But I think you can use some great suggestions from this forum and give your guests something the night before.

Hey Kendra! You are getting married a week after me!!! I can say it has almost no chance of rain in the beg of July but it is REALLY hot! I would def do an outdoor ceremony after 5 or 6 pm!

Hey girls! Thanks! It was a lot of fun to put the website together and easy!!! Wedorama.com has almost everything setup (including the counter). As far as the "at home" part, I've had a lot of people (mainly moms friends) who wanted to know our address to send gifts since they cannot attend. I know it's tacky to put it on the invite, but I thought it would be ok on our website.

Colors of Flowers
addisonreed1113 replied to LadyCheese's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
IMO with chocolate brown, the green cymbidium orchids would really pop and look fresh, with maybe some pink cymbidium orchid or rose accents and/or a champagne color Renae's Bouquet | Weddings | Details_w/BRI-00018.htm -
Jewish Wedding
addisonreed1113 replied to rob4ever's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
We are also interfaith (he's jewish, I'm methodist) and originally were going to bring a Rabbi down. But after adding all the costs (stay, flight, food plus he was bringing his wife) we decided to have a non-denominational minister incorporate some jewish/christian traditions. neither of us is super religious, but we are spiritual and we would love to have both traditions at our ceremony. This is what I've put together so far: (not in the correct order): 7 Jewish Blessings Exchange of Rings Blessing of the Wine Sign of Peace (turn to your neigbor "peace be with you") Breaking of the glass Corinthians read Be thou my vision sung (celtic hymn) Irish Blessing (I have irish background) Benediction So it's a big mish-mosh of tradition! I'd love to see anyone else's ideas! -
I know 15 minutes sounds really long, but Trev and I just got back from our friends wedding and at their rehearsal they had about a 15 min. slideshow and I have to say I was crying the whole time, it was so sweet! I think if you do it right, have nice music (and have some funny pics too!) that you can get away with it. You can be a little overindulgent...it's your wedding!!! Just make sure everyone has a full glass before it starts! or serve coffee/dessert before.

Hola Brides! I need color help- I love almost all color combos and am overwhelmed! Here's what we have so far: Bridesmaid Dresses Jim Hjelm Occasions Soft yellow with ivory chiffon overlay Men will be in light khaki or khaki seersucker with green cymbidium orchid bout. Ceremony will use a lot of white (want to keep look very clean) so I love the idea of white calla lillies Reception ?? This is where I'd love to have more color! I love lush pastels, apricot, blush, etc. The only thing I don't want is "hot or bright" colors (magenta, coral, aqua) My reception theme is "A midsummer night's dream" but Im having trouble focusing my vision! Any thoughts, suggestions? Thanks!

Bridesmaids dresses

Jim Hjelm Occasions soft yellow with chiffon overlay. My theme is A Midsummer Night's Dream but I'm not sure what other colors to go with it (flowers, etc.) Any suggestions? -
Hey girls! Is it just me being forum-stupid or are both search and advanced search not working?

I agree anywhere you go there will be food/drink costs. Have you thought of dropping your number of people (to maybe your 50 closest) this would cut your food budget by thousands if not tens of thousands. Also, this is just my opinion but since the cost of flying to cabo is a little pricey (from Houston its around $450 with all the new taxes and fees) - you may want to serve them more than heavy appetizers since they will spend atleast $1000 on flight and hotel alone. I agree Cancun is a little more of a money saver (especially on flights from Texas).
-
I think the average cost is $250-350 an hr

We had no luck finding a Rabbi. We are an interfaith (im methodist, he's jewish) but we wanted a rabbi. We had no luck and are bringing someone from Dallas (our hometown) I heard there were a few in Mexico City-but in my opinion if youre going to fly in someone it might as well be someone from your hometown who you can meet more than once.

Hello Brides! I would love to do a welcome dinner or cocktails and appetizers at the Sheraton. Does anyone have experience with this? I know a Hilton bride on this forum is having a bonfire with taco bar does the Sheraton offer anything comprable to this? We are having our guests stay here but aren't doing the reception here so I don't know anything about the Sheraton's restaurant options. Thanks!

I am using Fiestas Los Cabos and they also only take check or wire transfer to their bank. I've asked around my friends (granted they are Texas brides) but they said that is normal for a WC not to take credit cards. (Maybe since it is a "service" not a "goods" industry?)

Separate TTD dress?
addisonreed1113 replied to Bride010101's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I am doing a 2nd dress for the end of my reception and late night partying and will use that as a TTD. There is no way I'm trashing my pronovias dress!
