Cake tasting fees are normal but the fee is supposed to go towards the cake (like a deposit).

I just had my first shower today :-) yeah! It was so great! mimosas shared memories, etc. I really could care less about gifts (though I did receive a lot of really nice things we need!) but just love the idea of getting together with everyone! I know it can get expensive, but I love going to showers and giving gifts and watching the bride (or mom if baby shower) open gifts! I do know one very important rule.. you can't invite women you aren't inviting to the wedding. Also, as a thank you for my shower I am thorwing a very nice Bridesmaid luncheon for all my girls (6) and flower girl.

I can't say enough about them! So easy to work with, really fast turnaround, gave us exactly what we asked for at the price we wanted! Love, love, love them!!!! Go pixies!

We are about to send off our amazing Prim and Pixie invites :-) I can't say enough about how great and amazing they are! We almost went with a really expensive Checkerboard formal invite but then (thanks to BDW) I came across the Pixies which are totally my style!!!!

This is my 1st fitting (dress is 2 sizes too big) so I look a little bigger in some places!!! But I'm still rockin it :-)

Ha Ha! FI and I came across this on Expedia while looking for another hotel for after our wedding. We loved the look of it and almost booked it and thank goodness he saw the "clothing optional" !!!!! EWWWW! No thanks! What stinks is it's really modern looking and reminds me of a hotel in Miami. Why ruin it with crazy swinging Naked people!!!! (and you know they aren't models running around!)

Win the lottery Buy SO many things online :-) Find accessories/shoes for myself and bmaids

Mine is costing at most $300 (I just went to my first fitting). I think it may be cheaper b/c with shoes I'm tall enough not to have it hemmed. I feel like it's worth it b/c my dress is a mermaid type and need to fit my hips/butt like a glove or else it looks silly. I don't think brides should pay more than 20% of the dress cost but that's just my opinion!

Hola Chicas!!!! My FI and I are heading to Cabo for 3 days in May for our last visit (mostly tastings, vendors, meet with WC, etc.) for our July 08 wedding. Not sure how this works, we are using the Sheraton for our Ceremony site only (reception is at a house nearby) but we do have a big room block with them. Do hotels offer deals for their future brides for other visits? Should I contact the women who organizes my room block at the Sheraton and see if we could get a deal, upgrade, etc. or is this tacky? Trying to save pennies for the big day!!!

You look wonderful!!!! You lost so much weight fast that's why you feel your arms look bad, just do some light toning and strengthening (yoga, pilates, light weights) and you will be fab and feeling strong! No need to lose more weight though, you look awesome!!!

I have 6 girls and FI has 5 boys. I think it's totally fine- I'm going to have the last 2 maids walks down for the recession with last boy one girl on each side. No biggie!!!!

I'm curious too! We are getting married in July but not until right before sunset. My bridesmaids have really light airy dresses and my FI will be in light seersucker suits and his grooms will be in seersucker pants and white button down shirts. I'm just praying it won't be too hot! Maybe I should get my underarms botoxed so I won't sweat!!!! J/K

I am wearing a veil for 2 reasons. I love those pics on the beach with the couple and the wind is blowing the veil back(or someone's hand holding the veil back)and also the ones were both bride and groom are under veil. I am also honoring my FI jewish traditions of the veil covering the brides face at the beg. of ceremony. My FMIL was kind enough to buy my expensive veil (both back piece and front piece) and my beautiful vintage inspired jewel comb. I am going to wear it as my "something new".

I am using Amy from FLC for my wedding in July! I love working with her. She's professional and warm and has wonderful ideas. She is very upfront with prices and will work with your budget! For what you are getting I think there coordination fee is VERY reasonable.

Ok yall are way ahead of me!!!! I just ordered my invites from Prim and Pixie and they will be here at the end of the month and then I have to send them out asap!!!!! I saw a sample and they are so cute! I do have my dress fitting this Friday!!! Yeah!!!! I will post pics of invites and dress asap!

Thanks! I am going to pick that up! My FI is jewish too and I am methodist. Are you using a non-denominational minister and giving him the ceremony you want him to perform? I think that's what we're doing ...but I'm a little nervous! Oh we are from Dallas too!!!!

I'm a pronovias bride too! The Ladera I love this designer!!! I know it's not exactly destination bridal but who cares!!! I also love the spanish feel of the designer! I know you'll look gorgeous!

I'd say it all depends on what kind of service you're getting. If you are getting personalized service with unlimited access to your wc and feel like they are doing a fab job I think it'll be worth it. I know my WC is a little more expensive than some but I feel like it's worth it just for peace of mind.
