  1. Holy smokes, Batman! That's CHEAP! Have you talked with Perla or Elisa to see if they will let him on site? If so, I'm booking NOW.

  3. That's the one we started when we couldn't find the old one. The old one had tons and tons of info. I wish I'd printed it!
  4. So, FI and I have started receiving gifts. The wedding is still 5 months away and given that I just got my STDs out, the notion of thank you notes was the last thing on my mind. That being said, I spent several hours yesterday trying to find something cute and beachy that I could use as thank you notes. I thought I'd share some of the fruits of my labor: From Target - 50 for $15.99 Beach Stroll Wedding Thank-You Cards : Target Also from Target - 50 for $15.99 Seaside Jewels Thank-You Cards 50 ct. : Target Third set from Target - 50 for $15.99 Wedding Thank-You from Paradise Cards : Target From Crane's - 10 for $15 Crane's - Engraved Palm Tree Thank You Notes From Elegant Handmade Creations - 10 for $20 Thank You Card, Sea Shells, Palm Tree, Star Fish, Fall Leaves, Holiday, Christmas - Elegant Handmade Creations, Inc. 5. I love lace dresses, and I love mermaid. They all look really good on you, but I have to vote for #3!!
  6. Welcome to the forum, and congratulations! I looked at Azul beach, but they couldn't accomdate my date. You'll love it!
  7. Okay, totally not in my budget. But I think they are fabulous! Have you ever used the saran wrap trick? It works pretty well as long as you don't have too far to walk. Put a bit of oil (the oily smudge-proofer stuff) on the nails, cover with saran wrap or a small sandwich bag, put on your socks (need to fit snugly) then your shoes, and head home. It works for about 5-10 blocks tops - the saran will shift if its further. But no smudges... and just take everything off when you get home and let the drying complete.
  8. The magnets are just sheets that you buy - I got mine from Joann.com. They are a thin magnet with paper on one side - run them thru the printer and cut them out. (I used a 2" round punch). The palm tree is just clip art from Microsoft.
  9. Quick update - we went back to the house yesterday with an architect to see what he though of it and it's potential (needs some heavy updating). He had some great ideas and I think FI feels much better about it. We're waiting for a back-of-the-envelope estimate from the architect, and then we'll send our counter to the sellers on Monday! So excited! So hopeful!!!
  10. One note on the word art circles - if you want to change the color of the text, you may need to change the color of the line line and the fill rather than the text itself. At least that's the case in PowerPoint.
  11. Hi Jamy - sorry I just found your thread. I lived in Siena for a while, and travelled all over Italy - especially around Tuscany and Umbria. I'd stronly encourage you to look at Orvieto. It's beautiful and sits way up on a hill. Umbria is not nearly as touristed as Tuscany, but there are tons of places in Tuscany that are off the beaten path. With regard to other suggestions - the Amalfi coast/Sorrento/Capri are all amazing. My only note is that to get there you have to go thru Naples, and if you have worried travelers, it's not the easiest. The Cinque Terre is also beautiful, but housing is a pain. A lot of the nicer places to stay really don't take bookings - and if you do opt for there, Vernazza is the most picturesqe town. If you want to do the renewal in Rome and are catholic, I would point your parents to Fr. John Fitzpatric at the Basilica di San Silvestro in Capite. It's an english speaking church in the heart of Rome. We took FI's parents there for their 50th anniversary. (It was a surprise!) Fr. John did an amazing ceremony during the Sunday evening mass. The FILs said it was better than their wedding. And, there are TONS of beautiful villas and such outside of Rome (up in the hills), where you could stay. Let me know if you have any questions. I probably have some suggestions for just about anywhere you're considering.
  12. I got a quote for the steel drum from Elisa. Here's what I got: "The price per hour will be 350 USD +10% tax with one steel drum, if you want the one steel drum and sound system 450 USD +10% like for the cocktail, in fact they have as well a Regaee Band including the steel drums with sound system per 2 sets (2 hours) the prices will be 1700 USD +10% tax."
  13. Oh yay! And pictures too! Hurry up and post 'em!!!
  14. But... How?... if... geez... you see... um... Yup. I got nothing... Holy moly.
  15. Keep us posted. I'm sure there will be good news!

  17. Yay! More grooms on the forum! Welcome, and congratulations! Let us know how we can help.
  18. Hi Jess! I don't know how I"ve missed this thread. I'm so glad you're finding cheaper prices! Just a thought - call RK Bridal here in the city. They say they will beat any price quote (you may have to document it), and they will cap the cost of your alterations. I think mine were capped at $250 or $300. And I've got a lace hem that is going to have to be taken off and added back after they shorten it.
  19. I'd have to go with sight. I'm almost blind without my lenses anyway. But that's a hard one. Chewing gum: Mint, Cinnamon or classic Bubble?
  20. Angela - I've got the perfect solution. Let's mix 1/2 your mom with 1/2 my mom and we'll have a perfect MOB!
