For what it's worth, Mike is the preferred photographer at the Paradisus. He's married to Claudia Rodriguez. His work is pretty good from what I've seen. I've booked Mannia Audio for our wedding, and Carlos seems great - he's actually going to come and meet us when we go down for our site visit - which I think is a very good sign. Plus, very affordable. That being said, I haven't actually used either, so I can't give you a review.

Yes, I gave him 50% down with 50% due at the wedding. We may actually have him do more than the 5 hours, so that we have him for the pre-ceremony cocktails right on thru to the dancing - we'll have a 2 hr break while we're having dinner, but whatever... The contract, when you get it, is weird - clearly a bad translation. But I didn't want to make a big fuss. I checked with a few other brides - they all had the same contract - so I figured it wasn't a huge deal.

I was going to suggest a dressmaker, too. Some of them are absolutely amazing. And so much less expensive than you might think. And check with some of the more affordable shops - a lot of the lines come out with look alikes (mine was like this - at 1/3 of the price of the original!!) Keep us posted. And we'll keep an eye out for your dress!

Oh Sarah!!!! I can't even imagine. I never used to color my hair, but when it started getting gray, my stylist suggested some highlights for coverage. And she made me promise to never, ever try to touch it up myself. (I'm lucky because my hair is light enough that I'm okay for a few months so it doesn't cost me every penny I own to get mine colored.) She did warn me that the boxed color will have an impact on how the salon color takes (hence the reason she made me promise not to do it). I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Let us know how it goes.

I was a BM for a wedding, and one day we were sorting thru her RSVP's and they'd filled it out M. "So excited to be coming" or something like that. Seriously? She'd invited like 200 people! I don't know what people are thinking sometimes!

Easiest way is to have a TA book it. Or, if you want to do it yourself, just book separate reservations for each of the various schedules, then call the airline and tell them you want to be seated together. If you do it early enough, they can usually accomodate.
