  1. Wow. You DO need a drink! And a big hug. I'm sorry you're going thru all of this. There's nothing on your list that doesn't totally suck. And I wish I could come and kick some butt for you. I agree with what the ladies have said with regard to your MOH. Take a deep breath, and forgive her. You aren't going to be able to change her ability to attend, and it sounds like your relationship is very, very important. So, bite the bullet, pick up the phone, tell her you love her even though she's a big ol' pain. And then figure out a way to involve her in the rest of your planning. Vent on, and tell us how we can help.

It is pricey - but from what I've seen of other resorts in the area, the $10 pp is within range. All of the RM resorts charge per person per hour for the private bar setup. One thought, if you want to go longer, you can all just make your way over to the lobby bar, where the drinks are free. The music prices are ridiculous. I have no idea if the pricing is competitive with other resorts or not - we didn't check on that. However, if you can find another band, you can probably bring them in - but be prepared to pay the outside vendor fee. My suggestion - use an iPod and load it just the way you want or hire a DJ. The live music is just SO expensive. Plus, you pay for 45 minutes - which means they take a 15 minute break every hour and you're using recorded music to fill that time anyway.
  3. Wow! Great dress - and it looks like it was already fitted for you! So pretty!!!
  4. Yari - your backyard is GORGEOUS!!! I want to come to the BBQ too! I'll make my famous guacamole as a bribe!
  5. Yay for baby girls!!! I love Hannah - such a beautiful name!!
  6. Woo Hoo Abbie! They look GREAT! By the way, I didn't see mine in your box o'invites... what's up with that?!?!
  7. I'm wondering what her rush is as well. Not that I'm one to ask - we'll be married less than 8 months from when we got engaged, but your MOH is looking at 5.5 - 6 months, which does seem rather hurried. That being said, she's getting married 4 months before you, so I don't see any reason that it should infringe on your day. But if I were a betting girl, I'd assume you won't have too much support/assistance from her until at least December. Best to let your other bridesmaids know that you may be relying on them more than you'd initially planned.
  8. Oh my goodness, he's got such big paws... I hope you have a BIG yard! He is the cutest thing EVER!
  9. Yay Carly!!! You are a beautiful bride! Everything looked wonderful!
  10. I LOVE the Covergirl outlast. I've been wearing it for years. A really nice mild red color is called Canyon (I think it's 565), and then a really nice natural pink is Naturalast and is #545. I used to wear Canyon every single day. Now I'm wearing the Naturalast because FI says that redish lipstick reminds him of his mother (and that was the end of my Canyon wearing days!)
  11. Wow Rachel!!!!! Your hair looks FANTASTIC! I love it! (love, love, love, love love, love, love it!) DH must be beside himself seeing you with your sassy, sexy new do!
  12. Wow Morgan!!! You, as always, are such an inspiration! And in the same breath, knowing I could NEVER match your skills makes me think I should just give up and pay you ridiculous sums to do my wedding! All this, and taking care of Nibblet! You are amazing!
  13. Oh wow! That is so incredible! Yay for wonderful boys!
  14. I'm about a year older. And my mom is 2 years older than my dad, which back in the day was a tad scandalous - too funny!!!
  15. If the test bag is still in tact enough to try it at a lower setting, I'd say give it a go. But if the bags are a non-natural fiber, you may not be able to get the iron hot enough to melt the transfer and not melt the bag. I know that there are also some low-temp transfers available at Michaels and elsewhere, so you might check there, too. Otherwise, the hang tag/luggage tag is a great idea.
  16. Happy Birthday Stephanie! I hope it was fantastic!
  17. Yay Amy!!!! He is such the handsome little man! Many, many congratulations!
  18. I had problem printing on smaller envelopes, as well. I just set the print area on a regular letter page to the size of the envelope (clear to the top) and typed in what I wanted, then I changed my printer settings so that it printed on whatever was in the manual feed tray, regardless of size. Then I printed them and they worked great.
  19. I'll be just shy of 38 (although no one would EVER call me mature). I think most of the brides here are pretty laid back about things. I take it to an extreme, in the sense that all I really care about are having my bestest friends and family, my honey, a bit of music, and some booze. Figure in a nice beach and a pretty dress and I'm in total heaven. But I don't think that's so much a matter of age. More of a different set of priorities, and I think you'll find that lots of destination brides have similar priorities.
  20. Wow!!! We are so going to have to share notes after your AHR and my FI tells his mom that his (married) sister is bringing her boyfriend to the wedding! I LOVE the fact that there is all kinds of drama associated with my DW, and none of it involves me!
  21. Jess!!! This sort of crap is not supposed to happen. I need to call someone and put an end to this. Now... where did I put that number?? I'm so sorry you're having a tough week! I wish I knew how to help. If there's anything I can do, you know how to find me!

And back in February when we made the decision, part of it was geography - we didn't want to be in the city, and we didn't want to be so far out. And ultimately, the Paradisus had everything we wanted, bent over backward to accomodate our special requests and the WCs are absolutely the nicest people. They get back to you in a relatively short period of time, and they know how to get things done. I love it there, and am SO happy with our choice.
