  1. We're doing travel mugs. I like the insulation, and we aren't putting much stuff into the OOT bags. Just mugs and hats and a few little oddball items. So from a budget perspective it made sense. Plus, we're going to ship everything down ahead of time so I don't have to worry about packing them.
  2. So, my five bestest girlfriends are all coming to the wedding. I'm not having bridesmaids, but I am having a girlfriends brunch the day of the wedding and giving them some gifts: A starfish necklace (bought on sale at Kohls for $15) And a jewelry bag made by my mom (thanks Mom!!!): It's got little dividers inside: My sister will be joining us as well, and I'll be giving her a gold and pearl ring that was my mom's that I wore on my left hand for years. But now with my e-ring and wedding band I figured it was her turn.
  3. I've been there!! It will be just fine! That funny u-shape to the pipe under the sink is made just for this purpose! Make sure he takes it apart with a bucket under it because there is always water and gunk in it and you don't want that all over the place. You'll probably want to clean your necklace, but it will be fine.
  4. There was a package waiting on my porch last night that was full of the most wonderful, fabulous, beautiful things a girl could ever ask for! And it came from.... ... JAMIE (Jamisoncollete)!!!! Which is funny because I was her secret bunny last time. I knew it was going to be wonderful as soon as I saw the box: because it had this in the corner: And it was full of fantastic things! She gave me some wonderful non-breakable glasses to use in my backyard (one got cut off here): The fishies are SOOOO cute! And some yummy margarita slushie to go in the (just add tequila!): Plus, she gave me some yummy mango body butter and peppermint foot lotion: And best of all, she gave me the most beautiful silver anklet with a itsy bitsy, delicate starfish on it. It's perfect. I'll be wearing it on my wedding day as my something new! It's my favorite part! So, Jamie, thank you SO, SO much for everything! It's the perfect summer surprise!
  5. Oh holy crap! First, go over to your sister's and slap her around a bit. I mean SERIOUSLY?? WTF was she thinking? Second, call your mom and ask her what it was that was so important that she couldn't be bothered to drop off your key to save you from being stranded. (Let's recognize, however, that if your shower is Saturday, she could have had the cake, decorations, etc. in the car and had to make up an excuse and is feeling horrible for it, so go gently). Then determine if there might not be a better person to hold your spare key. Third, call the plumber and tell them off. There are LOTS of plumbers in this world and you can find a better one to share your money with. Use the words "F**k off" and "A**hole" liberally. It will make you feel better and you're not going to use that plumber anyway. Now, and this is the most important step, get wine glass. No, not that one. The big glass. Yes, that one to the left. Now fill it with the wine of your choice. Drink up. You know you want to. Now have a second glass. Feeling better? I'm sorry your day was so sucky. Tomorrow will be better. Big hugs!!

  7. Fantasia Sparkletush... pleased to meet ya. Oh, and after August 9, that will be Mrs. Fantasia Leatherrock. Yeah... might be keeping my maiden name... better for "business" if you catch my drift.

  9. If you really want a passport style, they aren't that bad - particularly if you keep it to a minimum number of pages. If you want, I'd be happy to help. I'm working from home tomorrow, so I'll have time to do a lot of the design work. And you can basically prep both of them (one for each cruise), and then on Friday after you've decided, print the one you need. I printed and prepped 40 in about 3 hours, so it's not really that time consuming. (The boarding passes took much longer.) If you're interested, send me a PM with a way to reach you and we'll go from there. If you want to see what mine looked like, go here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t16622
  10. Hmmm. UPS says my elf-ee's package was delivered on Saturday. Are you there elf-ee? Did you receive it? Did the bad neighbor kid take it from your front porch?

  12. I'm registered at two. One at Macy's for all the ususal wedding stuff (china, etc.) and one at a outdoor furniture place (FI's idea). But most usual places (Macy's, Pottery Barn, C&B, BB&B, etc.) all let you do online registries. I've heard that registering at Target is hit-and-miss because they won't let you return stuff as easily as you might want to.
  13. You can register... or you can get a bunch of stuff that you don't need or want. Lots of people won't want to give you money, they want to give you something tangible. So register to save yourself from receiving that really unattractive, highly modern vase-ish-thingy that so-and-so thought would be a lovely addition to your very traditional home. There are registries, such as Bed, Bath and Beyond that will let you return things for cash. Others will let you return things for credit, so make sure you register somewhere that you like to shop.
  14. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Yup. 5:45 appointment with the town clerk. Have my passport and birth certificate. (But why I need both is beyond me...) Woo hoo! Now I just have to set a date for legal day!
  15. Yay! You're officially full time! Congratulations! She is just the cutests!!!
  16. Oh geez. Get my dress messy for a good shot. I may only be wearing the thing for one day (well... two with the TTD), but my photos will be FOREVER! And you're only getting one day to get those right. Want me to climb a tree for the shot of a lifetime? I can do that. Nathaniel? You reading this? Don't hesitate to ask because the photos are more important than the dress.
  17. I think it depends a bit on how you're going to wear it. If it's behind the ear with your hair down, go smaller - so #3. On the other hand, if your hair will be back or up and the flower will be at the back of your head, then you can go bigger. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the color of #2. I think with blonde, it will be STUNNING.
  18. You WHAT?!?! And you didn't tell me?! Silly!!! So, where was it? And, more importantly, where is it now?
  19. Have the very, very best time Morgan! I can't believe it's here already! I'll take good care of Nibblet in your absence. Safe travels! Great times! Wonderful memories!

Excellent! I need a full report on the concealer! And the body scrub sounds divine! I think I'm going to have to make a run to Target or CVS and see what else they have. And I'm so trying to save $$ right now. Oops!
  21. I understand your disappointment. And frankly, because they are part of the wedding party, I assume that they gave this a lot of thought and tried VERY hard not to offend... and just didn't do it well. There was too much info as to why they wanted to stay somewhere else. But read it as them trying to explain why and not as a criticism. I would respond simply by saying that you totally understand. But don't forget to remind them that there will be a day pass fee (if there is), that you won't be able to pick up. As long as they've budgeted for it, and there aren't any surprises, it should be fine. For the days that there are wedding events, they'll probably be hanging out with you, and the days that there aren't, you'll be happy to have some time alone with your DH.
  22. Amy - B is GORGEOUS, but wow is it pricey! I also like A and C. If you want Callas, but not the price tag, I vote for A. If it were my bouquet, and I'm not a huge fan of Callas, I'd go with C.
