  1. Okay, here's my report, after a week of trying my new products. The tinted moisturizer is still great! I have dry skin and it's enough to get me thru a work day. The lip moisturizer is fantastic. I use it under my lipstick in the morning, and then before bed. Never have my lips felt this good. Refine and rewind perfecting serum. I don't think I like it as much as the restore and renew. But it comes in a pump and I like that! The lifting and firming eye cream - love it. My eyes seem a lot less puffy and dark. The stay perfect eye base is okay. I normally use Clinique's touch base for eyes and I like it better. My shadow stays on better and creases less with the Clinique product than with Boots. On the other hand, the clinique product is $20, and the boots is $7.
  2. Rebecca's July 4 Weekend to do list: 1. Beat up Maura's dad for being a pain. 2. Beat up Maura's FSIL for being a twit. 3. Finish putting ribbon on fans. 4. Nag non-responsive guests re: meal choices 5. Hang out with FI and do a whole lotta nothing. A very satisfying weekend, indeed!
  3. Morgan is the BEST! My/her starfish arrived, safe and sound! She had it all packed up with some starfish poetry. And a visitor... Nibblet! Woohoo!

Last question.....I should thread this, and maybe I will, but did you just send the luggage tags out seperately or with a cute newsletter or what? That's my next hurdle. I can't figure out what to mail them out with. Unfortunately, I don't live near any of our guests otherwise I'd drive to everyone and avoid postage! I'm sending mine with a newsletter and a daily spanish book (from target for $1 each.)
  5. I don't have any pics of me in the dress!!! I know... I know... Bad BDWer! But I've only had it on the one time for about 2 minutes. I'll see if I can't come up with something this weekend.
  6. I love all those restaurants! And save room and go to John's Pizza (Times Square area, on 44th and 8th, I think). They have the best calzone anywhere. Also, Basso 56. Great nice hole in the wall Italian food. Very authentic. On 56th between 7th and 8th, I think.
  7. I know that Amex will give you a short-term card so that if it's lost or stolen it's only good for a few days anyway. Just call them and ask.
  8. OMG. This never even crossed my mind. They wouldn't... would they? Please, please someone tell me no one carted a gift all the way down to Mexico!
  9. I like my fries with lots of black pepper and ketchup. Also... fries are amazing with guacamole. Of course, old shoe leather tastes good with guacamole.
  10. So, FI bought me this dress early on for the welcome dinner. It's a dessy bridesmaids dress, but he dropped me off at a bridal salon early in the process and when he came back to pick me up asked me to try it on. The shop was way out in BFE, so after months of it sitting there, I had them mail it to me because no WAY was I going way out there to have them do 3 sets of alterations. When it arrived, I didn't try it on. I took it to my tailor this morning to have him fit it, and when I walked it he said something along the lines of "all of that lace... this is not going to be inexpensive" which, I knew, but he went on to tell me that depending on how much had to be done it could be $150-$200. . But, when I tried it on he didn't need to alter it! Sure, he could take it in a bit here, and a bit there. But really, no need. Here's the dress, by the way. Really, really pretty:
  11. Hi Maura: I just put this in the August thread, but figured I'd add it here, too so that the info was consolidated. I have the same problem. It's a pain. My solution - I just created menu cards that are serving double duty as place cards, and then I have a stub on the bottom with people's names, table numbers and their meal choices which I'm going to perforate. People will just tear it off and hand it to the wait staff. Minimal fussing - three cuts and then the perforation. Eventually I'll get a planning thread together and post a "clean" template there, but pm me if you want it sooner.
  12. I've stayed at the Hilton in Barbados and really, really liked it. Customer service was great. The main restaurant had a big open-air seating area which was ideal. The pool and the beaches were outstanding. I don't know about wedding arrangements, because I wasn't thinking of it at the time.

  14. When we travel internationally, we almost always book thru Carey (www.carey.com). They have an affiliate network all over the world, and I've always found them to have outstanding service - I've never had one late, rude, etc. You may be able to find cheaper, but Carey is great.
  15. I don't have one for the new house. I'm dreading what that might cost - 5 BRs, good god... Our 1Br/1Ba in NYC cost us $80 per visit. But she was AMAZING. The apartment was always perfect. Yamille, if you want her contact info, let me know. I think she lives somewhere out in Queens.
  16. Oh, that is freakin' hysterical! I've got tears from laughing so hard.
  17. I'm sorry. Ewwww. I am not a mayo fan. The only time I eat mayo is in tuna salad or something like that. Of course, I love peanut butter on apples, so who am I to say anything. (and, yes, it's very hard to make it stick to the apples.)
  18. Wow Kate! Your dress is absolutely gorgeous! Love it!!!
  19. Nice!!! Now I've got about 60,000 more things to do. Love it!
  20. I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. I really hope that things clear up and you're back with Jorge on better footing soon! Big hugs! We're here if you need us!

Do you not have the software? If that's the case, do you have a friend that does? You should just be able to open the file and move, recolor, add stuff, etc.
  22. I don't get it. Why would anyone take them? People are such a-holes.
