  1. Jac - if you used a credit card, you can probably get a copy of the charge slip from the CC company. It may not have details, but it should have the transaction number on it. And Bloomies should be able to find a copy of the sales slip from the transaction number. As a plan B, if you can't find it. Take it to a jeweler and see if they can get it clean - steamers and such may be able to remove the remainder of the tarnishing.
  2. My TTD was the day after, so I slept in my hair, tucked in a few loose strands with bobby pins and such. I did re-do my makeup, but I had my makeup artist with me so why wouldn't I? For me, I wanted to look like I did at the wedding. If I'd worn my hair down, it would be pretty much like any other day, except that I was in a wedding dress.
  3. Gorgeous dress!!! Personally, I'd find a good seamstress or search online to see if you can find someone to make a good copy. It's their 09 collection, so you're probably not going to find one on craigslist or e-bay any time soon. Good luck!!
  4. OMG Yari!!!! That is (a) totally unprofessional and ( totally inappropriate. I don't know if refusing BC to a patient is refusing to treat them, but he really ought to be reported. Holy moley!
  5. Calia: What do you think of this one: It has insulated bottle pockets and a matching changing pad. Amazon.com: Singapore Sling Diaper Bag in Aqua: Baby
  6. I'm in a similar situation - my DH was previously married. He's catholic; I'm presbyterian. So, from the perspective of my church, it's no big deal. But it is a big deal for him. We did a civil ceremony here in town to make it legal, and then we had a religous (not catholic, but non-denominational protestant) ceremony in Mexico. It was beautiful, but it you're wanting a proper catholic wedding, I don't know if you'll get it short of having his previous marriage annulled. I wish you the best of luck!
  7. My old were two hairpins my mom wore to her highschool prom My new was my dress, and an anklet that Jamie (JamisonCollete) gave me My borrowed was Morgan's starfish - except that I left my bouquet in the room until after the ceremony... oops. My blue was a pair of undies - from the Gap and really quite comfy!
  8. Hi Ladies!!!! So sorry I've been a bad August-thread poster! I'm back. It was wonderful!!! I can't believe it's done, though. What am I going to do with myself? Anyone want help with their wedding stuff? I work for postcards! I know Helen put a link to the thread, but you can go to Nathaniel's blog directly at Nathaniel Thompson's Blog And I am DYING for my photos!!! He told me it would be a few weeks because he's totally backlogged, and I know I should be patient and let other brides who had their weddings before mine get their photos, but I WANT THEM SO BADLY!!!! (and yes, I do have a petulant-child side, why?) Maura - we totally have to talk!!! I want to hear EVERYTHING! I've got to find an excuse to come to Chicago - then we can sit down and really talk!
  9. Wow Tammy!!! I've said it before, but you have such a gift! I love the one where they are both looking out at the lake - so classic!
  10. I'm guessing it won't be a problem. 17.5 is pretty close, but they may ask for copies of passports when you check in. Personally, I'd talk with the WC - my best guess is that when you tell her you're going to be coming with a group of 30 (or whatever) and that one of them is 4 months shy of his 18th birthday, they'll let him in. It's not as if he's 14.
  11. Wow Alyssa! I'm finally getting caught up on things. Your planning is amazing. EVERYTHING is amazing. I love the consistency of everything, too!
  12. Oh no! Boys are so dumb sometimes! I have a friend who lost his ring on his honeymoon - in the ocean, of course. He went out and bought a bunch of cheap silver ones. Now he's got a handful of replacements for the next time!
  13. Wow Maura!!!!! You look absolutely amazing and sooooo happy!!! Welcome back! I've missed you!
  14. Another piece of advice - make sure your bags are cotton. If they are some sort of synthetic, they may melt with the heat required for the transfer.
  15. Oh, Kate. I am so very sorry for your loss! If you need anything, please be sure to let us know!
  16. Wow Kathi! Everything looks so great!! Your guests will be so excited! It's almost time!!!! woohoo!
  17. A haiku in honor of Abbie's birthday: Bright candles Amazing girl Thoughts of "home" Dear friend Happy day!
  18. For what it's worth (and I'm sure it will depend on fabric, etc.) the bottom hem of my dress was filthy after the wedding (totally black), and after the TTD, walking in the sand and splashing around in the ocean, it was actually a whole lot cleaner.
  19. I don't know about the legal ceremony, but the symbollic is performed in English. I'd expect that the legal is too. We had minister Jorge Pinto do our ceremony - we wanted some religous aspects to it, and he had some bible verses, etc. He was so sweet.
  20. My best guess is that you can't do a transfer. Polypro usually melts and the transfers take high heat to do correctly. Do you have one that you could try out and sacrifice if it melts? That would be my suggestion. Alternatively, you could look into stenciling your image on - especially if its just one or two colors. You can find stencil material at Michaels that you can run thru a printer and then cut out. Just be sure to use a waterproof fabric stencil paint - you don't want that stuff rubbing off on people's clothes when they walk to the beach with their fabulous bag.
  21. Oh yay!!!! Congratulations!! I love it when you find THE dress. And at a discount, too!

  23. We used about 30 seconds from Leona Lewis' "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and then cut to Barry White's "Your the First, My Last, My Everything" So much fun!!
  24. the room situation wasn't "resolved" we made do with what we could, moved people around, etc. In the end, people were still scattered and in rooms that weren't what they were promised (a family of 4 in a king bedded room with 2 cots, adjoining rooms that weren't, etc.) We're fighting with Sol Melia now to get refunds. We had our welcome dinner at the reef grill and our wedding dinner at L'Hermitage. The reef grill was free, but we paid $70 per person for L'Hermitage. In terms of getting people fed, after I kicked and screamed they got the food to them fairly quickly. We had Carlos from Mannia for the whole thing - pre-ceremony right on thru to the very end, so he took care of all the music.
  25. I'm so sorry to hear about your kittie!
