    We clearly need to bump this thread. If you've got a starfish to share, please post, and indicate what color. If you want to borrow one, find someone and ask them nicely, promise to take very, very good care of their starfish, and to pass it on to another BDW bride when the time comes.

    Just a thought, but what about beer and wine throughout, but only have the maitais or whatever signature drink you serve available during the cocktail hour and after dinner? (meaning, just beer and wine during dinner) But, check with your WC, she can probably help come up with some siggy drink that will cost less. What about a champagne based tropical drink? Surely using champage would be cheaper than rum... right?

    I sent mine out with a pre-travel brochure and a spanish/english dictionary about 3 weeks before we travelled. People thought they were great because many shared vans to the hotel and they found one another by means of the luggage tags as they were coming thru customs, etc.

    By the way when you are looking for something very specific, use the advanced search. You can put all kinds of parameters in - who posted, how long ago, key words in thread titles OR text. Just click the "advanced search" right below the box in the standard search.

    We did early morning. We were actually on the beach at 6:00 AM. DH hated me, but the photos I've seen are fantastic!!!!

    What about a Macaroni casserole or something? My recipie is easy, just some ground beef, onion, green pepper, tomato sauce and macaroni. Season it with a little bit of worcestershire sauce and salt. Or a tuna casserole. Hmmm. I think I know what I'm having for dinner tonight!

    It's funny. DH and I actually call one another "Husband" and "Wife". As in, "Hello, Husband, how was your day?" Always makes us laugh. It still hasn't sunk in.

    I would kill for a piece of blackberry peach pie with just a touch of homemade vanilla ice cream. Oh good god... this is going to be the end of my ability to work cohesively today.

    It's a totally personal thing. I've always loved china and I love to cook and enterain, so for me it was obvious. But if that's not your style then don't. You can also register for regular everyday dishes, if you would rather.

    Honestly, we didn't do a rehearsal. I don't know if that's normal or not, but I've seen a lot of discussion that people don't do the rehearsal at DWs.

    My third grade math teacher gave me this little ditty to remember how to divide fractions: Mine is not to question why, just invert and multiply. Has stuck with me ever since.

    I'm torn. but I'm a decidedly simple-pattern person. If it were me, I'd do them all in the blue lace pattern. Maybe think of the question differently. 15-20 years from now, when your kids are older, and you're hosting a big family dinner or a big formal event of some type, which pattern do you want? China should be timeless (more or less), whereas your daily use dinnerware can be more fun.

    I asked all 5 of my best girlfriends to be my unoffical bridesmaids. I didn't have any attendants. But, I wrote them all a nice letter, sharing their importance in my life and the roles that they all play. I asked them all to wear pink - any shade, any shape, any pattern. Take a look at my non-pro pics. There's one of them in there. I think it turned out really cute!
