  1. Thanks for the reiminder! I'm going to go clean up my mess now!
  2. Kaylee - you looked amazing! Your hair was absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations!!
  3. Is there any way you can get them to quote you prices in CDN? How is the CDN holding up vs. the MXP? If it's holding strong (which may be the case because the USD is rising vs. many currencies - therefore the issue is not the weakness of the CDN but rather the strength of the USD), then get prices quoted in MXP. They'll certainly do that!
  4. thinking about money: spreadsheets
  5. Honestly, I think you're fine. You offered to exchange yours. She turned you down. (I assume you countered with an "are you sure" and she still said not to return yours.) Stuff happens. If a friend had told me they were going to wear my same dress, I wouldn't have given it another thought - just how fabulous we would both look. You offered, she declined. End of story.
  6. Yay!!! Congratulations! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  7. Amazing photos Yari!!!! It looks so fantastic! Let's go back and do it again - I want to come this time!
  8. After our TTD, I hopped in the shower in my dress and rinsed it off (there was TONS of sand in it). FI then took it and hung it out on the balcony to dry. Mine was fairly lightweight, and it was dry that night. I know that others have hung it to dry as best as it would and then folded it damp and put it in a plastic bag for the trip home. I don't think you'd want to dry it mechanically (as in put it in the dryer). I think that could do serious damage to both the fabric and the styling. You're better travelling with it damp and then hanging it to finish drying when you get home. But, if it makes you feel any better, my dress was MUCH cleaner coming out of the ocean than it was after a night of partying in it.

  11. Hi Annie!!! We missed you - it's so good to see you back in "town"!
  12. Great plan Alyssa!!! Thanks for posting.
  13. Great Dress! Congratulations - and a great story in how you got it, too!
  14. So, DH and I leave for French Polynesia for our honeymoon in a couple of weeks and I need some beach reading material!! Everything I've been reading lately is too heavy for what I want... fun, silly, fluffy, light, pick it up, put it down sorts of stuff is what I'm after. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Oh, and it has to be available in paperback... Thanks girlies (and boylies)!!
  15. Yay Erica!!!! I'm so happy for you. You were an absolutely stunning bride!!
  16. Your dress is gorgeous!!!! You look fantastic! ...seriously, you asking us if you look fat is going to give us all beached-whale complexes!

The luggage tags are spoken for, but I purchased them through Amazon. Search for "Proximity Badge Holders". The plastic loops were sold separately - also thru Amazon - search for plastic luggage loops. Some people also use ribbon and like that if you don't want the plastic ones.
  18. Oh! It just occurred to me to tell you to check with Costco - they have some great machines at fantastic prices.
  19. I *heart* my singer machine. Personally, and as many others have said, you simply won't use all of the computerized stiches. And especially when it comes to novice sewing, the fewer moving parts/options/shizbangers the better. My mom is a master sewer and in her lifetime has only ever used (a) straight stich ( zig zag © hemstich and (d) button hole. The one thing she did say was to get one with the "drop down" arm piece so that you can get to the cuffs and such. She bought me my new machine for my shower gift (I'd been using her 40 year old machine).

  21. I went through my wedding closet this weekend and found extras that I am either willing to sell or give away. Hopefully there will be a few things in here that some of you upcoming BDW brides can use! For the stuff that's free, please ask only if you really intend to use them - I'd hate for the things that were so special to me to go to waste. PM me if you are interested! Mugs: Two versions, one with white lettering (have 10 of these), and one black lettering (have 30 of these). $2 each plus shipping (paid $6.75): White logo: Black logo: Picture Frames: These are a 5x7 brushed silver tone, and are fairly light-weight. I have 11, 10 have numbers in the sand (1-10), and the last one is empty. $2 each plus shipping (paid $7): Hair flowers: These are stephanotis (jasmine blossoms) about 1 inch in diameter, these 7 have never been worn. Paid $5 each for them, will sell for $2 each.: Floating Candles: have 6, white, approx 3 inches across. Will sell all 6 for $3 plus shipping: Raffia fans: Have 14 in blue, 16 in fuschia, plus 1 spool of the same fuschia ribbon. $15 for all: Shoes: I wore these for about an hour.
