Thanks!!!! We actually had our dinner in L'hermitage, not outside (it was August and we were afraid it would be too hot), so people had a choice between lamb, steak and fish, I believe. But generally, the food is really, really good so I wouldn't worry. but if you want an alternative to meats, their fish was super!
  3. We wired money - no problems. just make sure to keep a copy of the wire instructions that your bank gives you. We had a bit of a problem tracking it down, but it was easily fixed. Also, before you commit to anything check with your hotel. some of them have weird policies about outside vendors.
  4. That is so freakin' cute!!!! Cain must be so excited - to have such a great gift and such a great wife!
  5. We had a several families that had more than 2 kids. The rule is 2 kids + 2 adults max in a room - they will not price them any other way. We just booked the extra kids into grandparents' rooms and then let them sleep wherever they wanted. I can't remember if the rooms with 2 double beds have pull-out couches or not. some of the couches pull out, others don't. But they also have roll-away beds. I think that as long as the kids are all accounted for (meaning book them into rooms with grandparents/aunts/friends/etc.) you'll be okay.
  6. Wow Ayita! That is awful, I can't believe they are doing this to you. Did you sign the contract? You say you haven't seen it, but presumably you've seen something? Worst case, find a friend who is a lawyer and have them place a call. You can't be held to a contract you haven't signed. I wish I had some advice for plan B, but it looks like MarieSam has that covered. Good luck! Keep us posted and don't cry any more! I have my fingers crossed that it will all work out.
  7. I really like your monogram! If you get frustrated trying to put one together on you own, I'm offering a free standard monogram to BDW members.

    Wedding

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! There is a ton of great information here. I'm sure you'll find everything you need, and make a lot of new friends in the process.
  9. If you really want to tie in the look of things, I'd think it would be a great idea - you can have your colors, fonts, etc.
  10. Perla was able to put us in touch with our minister - but we were doing a symbollic ceremony, so maybe if you're doing the legal ceremony it's different. He gave us an outline of what he wanted to do, readings etc., we customized and added a few things. Not that we did programs - we didn't have a bridal party and it wasn't one of those things that was all that important to me. We did hang tags with the "Symbolism of the Starfish" and little silver starfish on each of our fans.
  11. Hi Valerie! There have been a large number of brides who married at both Las Caletas and Dreams PV. Do a search (upper right) and you'll find threads dedicated to both locations. Welcome to the forum!
  12. We used Mannia and he was fantastic - and very reasonable. do a search - I know that one of the threads had his prices for last year in them. It will at least be a starting point with regard to pricing, etc.
  13. Welcome to the forum! My husband and I got married at the Paradisus in the RM. It was absolutely beautiful. Lots of other ladies get married at Dreams Tulum. Good luck with your planning!
  14. Hi Kristie!! Welcome to the forum. There's so much information here it's hard to even suggest where to start. But a glass of wine and a night dedicated to reading is a great start. I know there is tons of information on Jamaica, so I'm sure you'll get more than you ever imagined. Congratulations!
  15. Welcome to the forum! There is so much info here. use the search box at the top right, and you'll find more information than you imagined (wanted?) on the hotels you're thinking of. good luck!

    Newbie :)

Hi Cheryl: We got married in the Riviera Maya and LOVED it. There is all kinds of information on the forum - I'm sure you'll find more info than you ever wanted. Generally, weddings, photography and hair and makeup aren't included in the price of your AI. It's a pain, but it's just the way it is. Take a night, or a weekend, settle in with a glass (or bottle) of wine and start reading. Good luck with your planning!

    New to site!

Hi Mike: Welcome to the forum! I've heard the beaches in Maroma are spectacular - we were married further up the coast. I'm sure you'll find all kinds of good informaiton here!
  18. Hi Gemma! Welcome to the forum. By the way, I LOVE the name Gemma. One of my good friends just named her newborn Gemma. I'm not familiar with the Ocean Coral, you may be one of the first to be married there. Congratulations!
  19. I would have to agree with Morgan - even if people tell you they are coming, a lot of them won't. but just to prevent any hurt feelings, it's probably best to tell everyone that you're having an intimate wedding with just family and a handful of your oldest friends. People get that.

    Hi from Amy!

Welcome to the forum! We gave serious consideration to a cruise wedding, but opted for the beach instead. You'll have so much fun doing your planning!
  21. If your guests are driving, then maybe not. But then again, my guests loved receiving them, so there's value to that. Also, it helps people identify who is attending the wedding - I had several people tell me that they found their shuttle-mates at the airport by seeing luggage tags.
  22. I love your dress!!! I had lace, too. The nice thing was that in the heat and humidity the lining softens up and hangs better than in a climate controlled dress shop.
