  1. Those are great! Your guests are going to love them!
  2. I love the BCBG, then the eyelet. But they are all very pretty. Question is, which one do you like best?

    Newbie LHC!

welcome to the forum, and congratulations! I will have to admit that I'm a bit jealous of the amount of time you have!
  4. Right there with you - and my problem is that I've got different printers that all print the colors differently - I've got more of a "carribean turquoise" and a purple - but I've got two color printers at work and one at home and NONE of them print them the same - and the two at work are the same model. Weird... Anyway, I keep tweaking it and eventually, I'm just going to have to commit to a printer and go for it.
  5. I like dress #1 better, which is funny because my dress is a lace halter, a bit like dress #2. Both are very nice, and you need to wear the dress that you like best. But I vote for #1.
  6. Out of curiosity, did you just get a new stick of the deodorant? I ask because I go thru one about every 3 months, and I'm wondering if they changed the formula a bit. If so, that might be the source of the redness.
  7. Hi Ladies: I'm wondering if anyone has purchased champagne at Wal-Mart, Costco, or somewhere else in the RM. The house champagne at our hotel is very modest (read: icky), and I want something better to toast my marriage with. And if you did, where did you buy it, what kind did you buy, and how did prices compare to home? Thanks!!!
  8. I go for a taupe color - the "nude" is still a little visible for me, and I'm prett pale.
  9. Wow. Absolutely and totally wow. You look stunning. I love the settings, especially the train. And your figure is smashing - be proud. You're gorgeous!
  10. I haven't made any decisions regarding photogs yet. But there's some sort of connection between Claudia and mexican wedding photos - I think MWP is Claudia's husband or something.
  11. Oh, one other thought... I love a nice glass of champagne/sparkling wine. The house sparkling at the Paradisus is... um... awful. The per bottle price for the "premium" sparklings is about $100 per bottle. However, they will allow you to bring your own booze - there's a $10 per bottle corkage fee. We'll be making a run to a liquor store or Costco to pick up some decent champagne at a decent price. I'm trying to get a quote from Costco. If I hear anything, I'll be sure to let you know.
  12. Hi Diana! By the way, I mentioned to FI yesterday that there was another Paradisus couple in the NY area. We should grab a drink some night if you are up for it. We are going with the "Wish" package - it's for 6 people, so everyone else is a +$, but it includes the minister, gazebo, ceremony music, basic bouquet, cake, etc. So, we used that as our starting point and went from there.
  13. If Chicago is anything like NY, you're going to have to wait another 3-4 weeks before white dresses become available. Frankly, if you have any idea of the style you're thinking of, you might just go to a seamstress in the area and see what they would charge you. In the meantime, take a peek here: Evening Dresses, Cocktail Dresses, and Prom Dresses from Sung Boutique Los Angeles I've not ordered from them, but they have some cute dresses in white.
  14. You've been a busy lady! And everything looks SO great!
  15. FI and I will use a package - the very basic one as it includes the gazebo and the officiant. We priced it out and for our 40+ guests, we ended up saving about $450. Not a huge amount, but every penny...
  16. Hi Bry - first, breathe. And once more for good measure. Now, tell us how we can help. Seriously - put us to work. Do you (a) have a dress; ( where do you stand on invites? © what else ca we help with.
  17. Catherine - I LOVE your new siggy!!! And MOOOO to you, too!
  18. Hi Suzanne! Welcome to the forum! As far as cost savings, one of the biggest components will be airfare. I see you're in MD - so will most of your guests be coming from that area? If so, stick with the east coast of Mexico - Cancun is a good start - there are a bunch of very affordable all-inclusives (AIs). And the AIs will also help keep your costs down - or at least known, because people won't be surprised by a $7 bottle of water.
  19. Great (!!) idea! I'm totally in. And I agree with the notion of staying away from hot button issues. Not that I necessarily want to read fluffy books exclusively (which, of course, I enjoy), but maybe we start with light fiction for people's first nominations, just to get our toes wet. Oooh! This will be so much fun!
  20. I used to get that a lot, too. The day will come when you miss hearing it... but I digress. One of the things that used to really make a difference is that when I pulled my hair back, I had some height in the hair over my forehead. I actually used to back-comb the front crown before I pulled it back. The high school cheerleader pony tail thing is less intense that way. Hope that helps a bit!
  21. Oh wow Jess! I can finally see them (I'm at work now). I LOVE (love, love, love, love, LOVE) the one with the hibiscus!!!!
  22. I SO can't wait to see the photos of the table cards. He is just the most adorable thing ever!
