  1. Go ahead with your plans and send out your save the dates. Don't change anything for anyone, especially when he's not yet engaged. Who knows if his girlfriend will even say yes? If you make your plans and send the save the dates and he then goes and gets engaged and plans his wedding a month before yours, people will automatically think he's a fool for doing it. So stick to your plans.
  2. You will be ablet to tell the difference between the two when they're next to each other. The best bet is to get a ivory veil, or even better wait until your dress comes in and then purchase the veil.
  3. There is POWER in numbers. Most vendors don't want a bad rap, and will do anything to clean it up. I'm just glad you got your money back Ann. It's unfortunate that the situation had to come to this and it could have been avoided if he just took the time to answer your email. I'm glad you got your money back, but his reputation will be forever scorched.
  4. The word I like is biyatchassness . I use it a lot under my breath at work. LOL
  5. I used the 16ss size for my topper. Pictures in my bio. BTW, if you choose to make it, use jewelry embellishing glue, not the E3000. I originally was going to use the E3000, but read the warnings and it's harmful if ingested and caused cancer in lab studies. So I stayed clear of that brand.
  6. Yheap! Always at the electronics store. LOL They're both gadget guys.
  7. I'm no help. My wedding is in Punta Cana and my family (mother) is from Costa Rica. I love both places! It is easier to find wedding information on Punta Cana. Welcome to the board.
  8. Welcome to the board ! I'm a Dreams PC bride to be.
  9. Wow, this is a bummer! I'm just glad they didn't take anything else, especially your check book. It's a darn shame people have to resort to theft these days. I just wish folks would start treating others (and their property) they way they want to be treated.
  10. Welcome to the board ! I'm a fellow PC bride-to-be.
  11. I also agree with sending out a save the date first. I made our website and put ALL of the information regarding travel and our travel agents info and then sent the save the dates and directed them to the website. This way they can plan, prepare & pay if they choose to go. I'm following up with formal invitations in a few weeks.
  12. We were just shy of our 5 year anniversary when he proposed. We'll be together for 6 & 1/2 years when we get married.
  13. You pick what you want the meal to be at the wedding. When I emailed Grisel about this, she said that they can accommodate for other guests who don't eat what you have chosen. But I think it's only for a handful of guests. I chose the beef, but I have 2 people who don't eat beef, so I will order chicken for them when I get there.
  14. Hey Kendra. I'm sorry to hear that you will let go your bridal party. But, you know something, I too went through this and guess what? It's worked out for the best. I started out with 3 BM and FI's BM. We now have his BM & my MOH. Sadly, but fortunately, I lost what I 'thought' was a true friendhsip through this wedding planning. But I am better because I know who my TRUE friends are. Anyway, having a small or no bridal party is not bad at all. The focus should be on you and your FI. Good luck.
  15. Oh.. and I added a Thank You Statement for the guests that traveled.

  17. I'm not doing a dinner, but I am having a 'welcome meet & greet' the night before the wedding. We'll meet at the bar for about an hour, then FI & I will head to one of the restaurants for dinner. The guests will be welcomed to join us if they wish, but it's not scheduled. Don't feel that you MUST do a welcome dinner, but meeting with them to say hello and thanks for coming before the wedding will be nice. Even if you meet on the beach or at the pool.
  18. I don't know how far you are from Clayton County. I went to a wedding at the Clayton County water authority off Jonesboro Road last summer and it was VER nice. It's like a community center, the inside is similar to a log cabin with a fireplace and stone wall. The best part is the wrap around porch. They have french doors that open on both sides of the room leading to a covered out door porch which wraps around the room. The landscaping outside the porch is very nice & green and there is a lake in walking distance. They have a separate balcony overlooking the room for the DJ and a fully equipped kitchen. I was looking to have our AHR there (until we nixed that idea) and the price is $700 and you get back $300 when you return the key.
  19. My guests are paying $380 per person for 3 nights. So it averages to about $126 per person, per night.
