Do I send the thank you note now, or wait until after the wedding? I would send the note now so she knows you received the gift and that you are appreciative, of course! And oh geesh a thank you note to my parents, better start planning/thinking/writing/panacking now!

I think I would like to have the eavening meal on the garden area but I was worried about the weather if its raining or windy ect... Also if it is dark, do they supply some sort of lighting ?? 2. Then theres the dancing area... I don't really want to have to pay for the dance floor but I will if it makes a big difference, I was wondering about moving to the terrace area after the meal for the music and dancing ? Do you think this would be a good area for this, there will be around 30 guests ? 3. Is there a bar near by ? Also do you know if they use the bows from the ceromony chairs for the reception chairs ? 4. What did you / are you doing about music ? I've read some posts that most of you are using an IPOD, do you hook this up to their sound system ? If so is there a charge ? Sorry for the long post, Thanks alot x We are doing cocktail hour in the terrace and reception on the beach. Something about dancing next to the water excites me! Yeah we have to rent the dance floor but thats ok. Daniella told me they provide lighting for the beach reception so I would guess same is true for the garden. For music we are bringing our ipod but also burning the music to cds. I have read that the ipod batteries burn out quickly during the daay/night so I want to have a cd back up and yes you have to pay for the sound system. I think it is $180 per hour. Yes if you get chair bows you get the use of them for the ceremony and reception for the one price. I asked Daniella that one recently.
  9. Congratulations and welcome!! Hope your planning goes well! and you are right time flies!
  10. Welcome to the forum! I have been to St Lucia and loved it!! Gorgeous and great diving. We thought about there but issues were not as many flights too and from and not as many resorts to pick from. Happy planning!!

If they want to book somewhere else they are free to do that too.

I just sent them another email but i'm getting a little worried because I want to make sure and get an appointment that day. Daniella set up my appointments for this upcoming November. Dont know why Claudia cant do the same for you.
  15. In our letter we attached the TA's email address and website. On the magnet we put out Wedding website that we did throught the knot and then on that website also had the TA's info. As far as deals I know some gals have mentioned being told by DC needing 80% of their guests to stay there as a requirement. I personally have not been told that. There are day passes for those not staying on the property. I do believe there is a discount for a certain number of rooms booked but am unsure of that. I can get in touch with my TA or maybe one of the other ladies knows too!!
  16. Well then keeping busy sounds like a very good plan! Completely understandable too!! I hope all works out for you!!
  17. Looks like your points are accumulating but maybe one of the mods can check that one out. Hmmmm
  18. The prices I got from that TA were about $200-$300 cheaper then anywhere else. It depends on time of year, length of stay and which category room as far as price but they will give you a free qoute. I didnt worry about getting our guests rooms together because some want to stay in the Pyramids, others in the tower. But I know my sis and my mom asked to have adjoining rooms and although it can not be guranteed they noted it on their reservation. For DW invites, I have seen that ettiquette is at least 10 weeks. But anything goes really. Have you or are you going to do STDs? Those are a big help in giving guests the heads up. We sent out letter and magnets and now its fun to go to our friends houses and we see our magnets up on the fridges, a constant reminder to save and prepare to come to our wedding.
  19. First of all... Secondly, I am convinced everything happens for a reason. I am sure that reason is nowhere near apparent right now but one day I am sure it will be. I know this is not the option you want to hear right now but is it possible to take this semester off and concentrate on you and your phyical, emotional, and spiritual well being? I know you dont want to take more time off which leads to a longer wait for your B.A. but if you are not happy with how things are going (missing classes, missing tests, not being able to get the grades you know you can achieve). Then maybe a thought!! I am thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers!
  20. How cool is that!! Welcome welcome welcome!!
  21. I know some places say in their rules/regs that they do not allow large groups of spring break age kids. I have seen the wording and of course now I cant find the exact wording to post it before but my gfriends and I are going on a trip at the end of March and we specifically picked this Riu because it stated no spring breakers.
