Betsey - I just came back from Moon Palace in November. Just an FYI on the passport with the trips. The trips, yes, they are free however, the only downside is that the trips put you in a situation that if you don't end up spending more money, you will find that you are left to hang for several hours. For example, we took the boat to Isla Mujeres. The boat was fun and they passed beer around. It was about a 45 minute ride. When you got to Isla Mujeres, they left you at Isla Mujeres Palace. There was nothing to do there but lay in hammocks and hang out at their very tiny pool. You could however spend a couple hundered dollars and go swimming with the dolphins and some other costly things to do. So, we hung around Isla Mujeres Palace for about 2 hours. Then the boat took us to another part of Isla Mujeres where the shops are. You are given a blue bracelet so you are completely attacked by the vendors. All in all it was ok, but I thought I was going to get way more out of this trip. Then, I was so excited to go on the snorkeling trip. I did not end up going because a couple in our party had already gone and forwarned us that the snorkeling was only 45 minutes and then if you did not purchase the zip lining for $80 or other things to do, the boat (not a real catamaran) stayed docked in an area for 3 hours with nothing to do in site. I later found out that everyone that gets the Passport is really "talked into" going on these trips because Apple, RCI, etc. all get commission if you go, because they end up selling you these other excusions. So, I just wanted to let you know about this ahead of time. Just plan ahead and bring extra money with you on these excursions. I am sure the dolphin swimming and zip lining, etc. is a lot of fun, I just had not budgeted for the extra costs so I was a little disappointed. If you have any questions about Moon Palace or anything PM me. My sister and best friend got married there and I went to both weddings.

I lost 3 more during week two I am now down 9lbs. I feel really good and I am seeing myself getting toned so much quicker than ever before. The gym and WW combined is really working out for me

For my sister's wedding, she created a cd of their songs and burnt individual copies for each bag. She also put seashell winestoppers in the bags. Candy, gum, chapstick, and sunscreen. What she did is when everyone who was going to be there for the wedding was actually there (which was the night before) We all had dinner together and she handed out the bags there and gave the bridesmaids and grooms gifts out as well. Hope this helps!

Peak and off peak season in cabos
FutureMrs.L replied to emily's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
$1579 per person? Where are you getting your tickets from? I freaked out when i saw that and went onto Orbitz. I would be flying out of Boston (not too far from NJ) and it was about $500 per person. I looked for the end of June because that is the time we will probably be going next year. Or is it $1579 all inclusive? That sounds about right to me. I was just at Moon Palace in Nov. and it was about that for one week. So, that actually does not seem to bad to me! -
Now that I am on weight watchers for breakfast, I have been having 2 pieces of toast and tea. The bread I buy has to be 3 grams of fiber. I buy the spray butter called smart balance. So, my breakfast only ends up being 2 points. I take my tea with splenda.

I hope I am not being redundant. We still have not chosen a place but are leaning towards Dreams. It is my understand that with the Ultimate package it includes the dinner reception for up to 20 people with extra charges pp over that? Tell me if I am wrong please. I was reading an old post today all about bringing your IPOD for a reception. Would I be able to do this with the Ultimate package and have dancing after dinner or is there additional charges for this? Also, what were people charged for the colored linens and bows for the chairs? I know that prices will change by June 09, but just a rough idea anyhow would be nice. Another question. I was reading some old posts about the legal ceremony being in spanish. If I were to go to city hall in the States and get "legally married" prior to going to Cabo would the minister be able to do the ceremony in English? Sorry for all the questions. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks - Terri

My best friend and my sister both got married at Moon Palace and they both had formal receptions the month after. For us, we want to do a back yard lobster/clam bake. A welcome home the newleyweds party. His parents have a large backyard with an inground pool. So I envision, a later afternoon thing with candles in the pool, renting tents and tables and chairs, hiring a company that does the cooking, and getting a dj, and getting kegs and bottles of wine. I don't plan on wearing my dress or having the bridesmaid wearing their dress. What I think is a cute idea, is...Victoria secret has tanks and sweatshirts that say "Sexy Bride".....and getting tanks for the bridesmaids that say Bridesmaid and Matron of Honor. I think that for me casual and fun suites us best. It just seemed like so much work for my sister and friend to have the formal reception and they both stated they wished they did not do it because they were already married and wanted their lives to get back to normal.

The good wife's guide...(from 1955)
FutureMrs.L replied to IrieBride08's topic in Just venting or funnies
I work full time and have a part time job that I go to after work doing massage therapy. So, he knows to not expect any of this from me. If I was a stay at home mom, yes, the house would be clean, and dinner ready. -
I think weight watchers is great. I dont feel like I am on a diet at all. I actually feel like I eat more on WW but I am just conscience of my portions now.

I completed my first week on WW on Saturday and I was very excited to see that I lost 6lbs my first week. Yeah!!! I feel like I found something that works and that I can stick too. I actually think that eat more on WW than before I started, it is just healthier food and I am much more conscience of what I am eating now.

Does anybody have any good receips for a good appetizer or desert that is healthy or lower in points? We are having people over for the football game on Saturday GO PATS!!!! and I was hoping to make something that is healthy and low in points that I could enjoy. Any suggestions? ~Terri

Hydroxycut made me so sick and I could not stop throwing up. It was aweful. I have used and still have some left of herbalife take control. I have used herbalife shakes too as a meal supplement, but got so sick of drinking shakes so that diet does not work for me.

Did anyone else have friends or family members complain about your destination ideas? I am not offically engaged yet, but I know he has met with a jeweler and it will be this spring. We know we want a destination wedding and we have talked about many different ideas. At first we thought about CR but we want a summer wedding and the rainy season in CR is during our summer. Then Aruba - my mom complained about a long plane ride from Chicago insisting that it would be an 8 hour plane ride. I checked and it is a 5 hour plane ride. Now we are on the idea about Cabo and my cousin who will be my MOH flipped out on me about how expensive Cabo would be especially flying from Boston. I told her that she does not need to be there and I would understand if she was not able to make it. My parents and his parents both have Mariott time shares so now my mom is also putting pressure on me to use a time share rather than an all-inclusive. We both think an all-inclusive would be best in the long run for our guests. This way we would not have to worry about what we are doing at night, where are people going for dinner, do you have enough things to do to have a good time, etc. Urgh, just venting and seeing if anyone else had to deal with issues like these and how did you deal with them. Also, my parents and his parents would really want to go to a place with a nice beach since they are beach people. All these demands!

1. I always use a face lotion with spf of 15+ 2. Mac eye shadows (love their variety of color) and lip gloss 3. Clinque pressed powder, eye liner, and mascara. 4. Bumble and Bumble hair products. I also get my hair done every 6-7 weeks. I use paul mitchell hair coloring that my friend gets for me. 5. Go through my closet every few months and get rid of those clothes that I now think are hideous. A good piece of advice I got about cleaning the closet is "you know when you buy that outfit and you look in the mirror and say WOW I look good, you should be able to say that about every outfit that you own". Also if you have not worn it in a year, get rid of it.

I had the point conversation with a co-worker yesterday and she informed me to make sure I eat all of them. So, yesterday I did and I plan on doing so from yesterday on. I think maybe because I woke up at 11:00 on Sunday half the day was already gone and that was why I had the 12.5 points. Thanks for letting me know. I know that it is important to eat your total amount of points so that your body does not go into starvation mode. I know I don't want that happening. Thanks girls!

I have been to two weddings at the Moon Palace, my best friends, and my sisters (this past Nov.) If you have any questions, let me know.

Congrats girls!!! I just joined too. We will see on Sunday my weigh in. Keep ya posted!

I just started WW yesterday. I am allowed 18 points. I consumed 12 yesterday. Today I am 10.5. I think it helps to snack on things that are 0 points. I am not doing the meetings and am just doing this on my own. A coworker gave me the book. I weighed myself yesterday and am going to only weigh myself on Sundays. My goal is to lose 15 lbs this year and a total of 20 lbs by June 09. I feel good about this. I hope it works. I am going back to the gym tonight too. I have not been in 2 months and can't wait to get back. I think this forum will be helpful especially since I don't go tot the meetings. We can support eachoother

Beach vs Restaurant Reception
FutureMrs.L replied to foxytv's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I would do the beach. It is more rememorable and special!
