Quote: Originally Posted by Morgan I have been meaning to post this for months & I keep forgetting. I finally remembered after seeing QuelMoffet post that she just bought them. The are called P90X by beachbody. They are the best workout dvds I've ever done (& I've done a bunch of workout dvds.) I've been lifting weights for 12 years. I never could have imagined there would be a dvd that can give me as good of a leg workout at home as I was getting at the gym with machines. It's actually better than what I was doing at the gym. I noticed more definition after I switched to the dvds. My gym closed down sept 2006. Shortly after a friend told us about these DVDs. I've been doing them since then. Its so great to be able to work out at home. I put the dvds on my portable dvd player so I can watch tv while I workout. There is a countdown clock so you know how much is left. There is a great 15minute ab workout too. We don't have a pull up bar, so we skip that part. But, with just some dumb bells, a dvd player & a chair, you can get an awesome workout. I didn't follow the eating plan, I just do the dvds. Also, the workout plan is really intense. I just do a dvd a few times a week. Our friends strained their back from over doing it (both husband & wife) so if you feel like it's too much, cut back. I like to mix it up with some of my other dvds like taebo & pilates. P90X is not for beginners. There are other programs from the same people that are not as intense. One is called Power 90. I also tried Debbie Siebers Slim in 6 but I didn't like it. The entire plan is 10-15 DVDs of different weight lifint routines, cardio, and yoga. it's a great way to get guys to do yoga because it's like manly yoga. There is also a book that takes you through a diet plan. It's a good diet. I'm totally against fad diets. This isn't like that. I didn't have the book to follow the diet because I bought used DVDs on ebay. P90X® - Fitness, Nutrition, Diet, Weight Loss Official Website UPDATE You can modify it to suite you if you are a beginner. I should have explained this better. Don't do the program the way it is designed if you don't lift already. But, you can do a dvd a few times a week with lighter weights even if you are a not a lifter. I just wouldn't do it 6 days a week at first like the plan has you doing. I only work out 3-4 times a week most weeks. I really don't care to do more. So you can modify this to be easier. Also the really killer part is all the pushups. I don't do that dvd. thats the one that hurt my friends' backs. It's not a bad dvd. I just hate pushups. I don't work out as hardcore as the program. But, I still get a lot of use out of these DVDs. YAY QuelMoffett is me (changed my name) so anyway I got the dvd and its good so far. we did a warm up to see what it wa slike, we liked it. i feel it today thats for sure. i just posted a thread on it ahahahaha -

It's a 90 day workout plan and it gives you foods to eat, a book with all kinds of great info regarding health, energy, etc etc etc. We got our DVD's in the mail and started it Saturday morning. Well we did the warm up, and are starting it for real today after work. We did back and shoulders and let me tell you, I can feel it already and it was only a warm up. I'm taking it slow though b/c I NEVER work out or run or do anything that involves muscle movement sooooo it should be interesting to see how it works out for me. We went food shopping Sun night, got all our stuff and are ready to go! It tells you to take a picture before and after. If I do good I'm going to post the pix! For those of you who have this video, do you think it worked? Someone here told me they loved it. -

OMG yes, same here to the public thing. He said Boobies at his moms house and she looked at him real stern and said "Joe that is disrespectful, dont call her that." And we started lauging so hard and explained that it was ok, etc. It sounds that way cause it's "boobs" but thats not why we say it. Too funny.

Ok before I say anything I want you all to know that I'm aware of my corniess. I know Joe and I are not the only ones who have an off the wall, border line corny pet name for each other. It all started 14-15 years ago with me calling my family dog (Ted) "Boobies", don't ask me how it started, but it just did. Well I made the mistake of calling Joe that a while ago and it stuck and we both use it for each other and we just cant stop saying it. It's like my first name now to him. Sometimes he'll call me "Linky" or "Booba-link link butt". NOOOO idea where he came up with it but it's just funny to us and he just made me say it at work on the phone and I was dying laughing. This should totally be on the "Confessins" thread! So what do you and your FI call each other?

I did this when I was in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I'm not sure if it's just the place I went too but the horses were sick looking and I left feeling bad for them. They were super skinny, standing on hot sand in the sun, cuts on them, dirty, tied up with no room to move. I felt really bad for them. I dont mean to be a pooper (did I just say that ) and make people not want to go horse back riding, but just make sure you book with a good company if you do this. I'm sure it's fun when the place actaully takes care of them but just an FYI'er.

Alternatives to Bouquet/Garter Toss
Jacqueline replied to drbrainfreeze's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I don't think I'm doing the bouquet/garter toss either. I know I dont want too, and I'm not sure how Joe feels. he will most likely want to do it cuz him and his friends are freaks and love to act lke maniacs. So we will see. Like Carly said, I'm one of those girls who run to the laides room most of the time when that happens, haahaa As far as replacing it with something, I think I'd rather save that time for dancing. I was thinking that I def wanted the photographer to take a group pic with me in the middle of all of my girls standing around me, and the same idea for joe and his friends. So maybe I can use the hour I dont use for the tossing for the group pic thing?? Getting everyone together for that might take an hour, haha I duno. -
Oh you have no idea how great this forum is and how helpful everyone is! congrats and have fun with the planning!

What a great idea, I missed it last time. I'm in for April. I am open for wherever you decide but the Cheesecake Factory is temptingggggg! But like Alyssa said, what about Center City? Anyone know of any good spots? I'll look on line too...

When I asked my BM's to be a part of my wedding, I wrote them out cute girlie cards and inside was a friend quote magnet. Now, I know my ring bearer is only 9 but I still wanted to personally ask him. Any ideas? Should I get him a small gift? Let me know your thoughts.

Oh Kelli Pickler looks so cute with that doo. Yeah I will be cutting my hair again too once I'm hitched. To me theres just no way to pull it up completely if I decided to cut it now. dance lessons start tomorrow!

And the best part it it's only $20/couple each lesson! She also would choreograph something for us if we were intrested, but I am not. Car have fun, it sounds like a good time. -
This past Sun I hung out with my godson, his mom & grandmom. I mentioned that I'd love for John to be my ring bearer and wanted them to talk it over before they told me yes (cuz his mom kept saying "omg yeah!") and make sure it was ok $$ wise, and with his schedule (crazy schedule) that it wouldn't be a pain for them. So I just talked to Gina (his mom) and she was excited to tell me that it's totally cool and they think its a great idea. So next time I see him (the 15th) I'm going to ask him ;o) This means so much to me, you have no idea.

What type/style dancing is it? Is it for your first dance or just in general dancing? -

So I am excited to be able to expand my abilities and we are starting a 10 week program tomorrow. Was supposed to start last Friday, but we were snowed out. yay!!!! HA! Found these and could not resist! Fricking hysterical! YAY how fun! That is sweet your taking lessons so you can dance with him, since he loves to dance. And OMG that last two dancer there remind me of Denna! Do they not?!?!?! hahahahahahaaa -

Joe and I were just discussing our honeymoon. We'd like to go to Hawaii for 2 weeks. We're not sure though if we want an all inclusive hotel OR we thought that an ocean hut type place would be SWEET (picture below) We thought it'd be cool b/c ya know how when you go away to diff countires or whatever sometimes you can't leave the resort- or SHOULDNT leave the resort bc its dangerous? Well we didnt think Hawaii was like that so getting a private hut wouldnt be such a bad idea. I dont know since I was never there but.... 1- Do they have anything like that in Hawaii? 2- If so are the places part of a "resort" or whatever?? Know what I'm sayin?
