  1. I just started another post saying I'm brining my own photographer from Canada from March 27th-April 3 2008, and she's looking to shoot other weddings while she's there. Check out the post or PM me.

  3. hum, seems very weird, I thought all the Dreams packages including everything to make the ceremony legal. Now I'm worried for my own ceremony at the dreams tulum...
  4. I've bringing a photographer with me for my wedding at Dreams Tulum on April 1st 2008 which I could share with any other brides at this resort or in the entire mayan riviera area. The photographer will be coming with us from March 27th - April 3rd, and would be available to do a wedding on March 28, 29, 30, 31 or April 2nd. If anybody is interested in her services I would ask you to contribute towards her travel fees (negotiable) and then we each have to pay her 800$ photography fee (which includes a 300$ credit which could be used to purchase additional services or products, such as a trash the dress session, photobooks etc). This price would include her services for a full day & evening and a cd with all the photos (several hundred) for you to print your own photos. If you're staying at another hotel in the mayan riviera, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for her to travel to your resort (check with your resort about their policy for outside photographers, you may have to purchase a day pass). Her website is Daydreamphotography.com Please PM me if you're interested and I can give you more info.
  5. I'm going for the Caribbean because it's 350$ versus 700$ for the Mariachi. Also I think (I could be wrong) that's it's more what I had in mind, more of a laid back caribbean style versus traditional mexican music? I could be wrong though, that's just a guess. I would like to hear both to see the difference! I'm not overly found of the mariachi's costumes though! Not a very laid back look. If the price was reversed, I'd probably go for the mariachi though. I didn't expect it to be nearly so expensive. You can get the same musicians at resorts in Cuba (for weddings) for 100$ or so, which is what I expected to be paying (700$ is a LOT of money in mexico! and it's just for 45 mins!!!!)
  6. The contact info for the photographer at Dreams Tulum is filepictourAThotmail.com Email him and ask for some samples. I did and he sent me a bunch. I thought they were pretty good, but for the cost of the largest package (900$ for 80 pics on CD) I'd rather just pay twice the price and get somebody really good, like Claudia Rodriguez.
  7. Mike Canterell is the one who works with or is recommended by Claudia Rodriguez.

I have heard great things about both Citlalli and Claudia so I'm sure your pictures will be great. When I asked Claudia if the price were less for her associates I was told no, the prices are all the same! Sounds like you got a different price for Citlalli though.
  9. I've been told that Dreams Tulum does not charge a fee for an outside photographer.
  10. Hi! I was just comparing some resorts & prices today, and the Riu Caribe (in cancun) came up as one of the top 3 options for me. I'd also love to hear from some other brides who got married there, but no luck so far in finding anyone. I'd love to hear more about the different wedding locations at this resort - I'm hesitant about being married right on the beach because I think there will be lots of people in the way and in my pictures.
  11. Just got engaged 2 weeks ago, and am now in the process of planning our destination wedding. Our first choice of location is mayan riviera. Still trying to decide on a date
